It's unentangled between Sultana Hurrem and Firuze. Firuze goes to the courtyard of the favorites. Ibrahim Pasha wards Iskender Celebi off the statesman position. Sultana Hatice starts giving even more hard times to Hatice as Firuze moves to the courtyard of the favorites. Firuze gets sent to coition with Prince Mustafa but she objects that and confronts Sultana Hurrem. Hurrem gets disappointed. She will get a heavy payback for that.
As Hurrem learns the situation, Firuze can't hide and moves to the ourtyard of the favorites publicly.
On the other hand, Prince Mustafa and Mahidevran arrive in Manisa Palace. Mustafa goes to see Helena as soon as he gets there. However, he can't see the happiness in Helena as he expects. Helena is about to married off by his father. She stays away from Prince Mustafa. Yahya of Taslica's heart goes out to Prince Mustafa but Helena and Mustafa fall apart.
On the other side, İbrahim Pasha sets up a meeting to be able to win Sultana Hatice's heart back with her. However, Sultana Hatice can't forget what she has been through.
Meanwhile, Sultan Suleiman gives Hurrem a silent attitude because of the things she has done to Firuze. Hurrem gets afraid of losing Sultan Suleiman for the first time and she asks Rustem Aga for his help to get rid of Firuze.
As Ibrahim Pasha wards Iskender Celebi's men from the statesmen positions, he assings Mirahur Rustem Aga as Teke Sanjak Beylik. On the other hand, Cadi of Istanbul Ebussuud Efendi has to be appear in front of Suleiman and Ibrahim because of the his macroprudential policy for the shopkeepers during his inspection.
Will Sultana Hurrem get rid of Firuze? Will Ibrahim Pasha send Rustem Aga away from the capital? Will Prince Mustafa be able to come together with Helena? Will Ibrahim be able to win Sultana Hatice's heart back?
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

To be honest, I can't entirely fault Hürrem for such a reaction. It's weird that the show barely allows her any true female friendships, even ones that she deliberately fostered, like with Firuze or Gülnihal. Have to respect her move at 18:00 too since it not only reminds everyone who holds the true power here (particularly when Firuze can't even dare to meet her eye) but remains true to her mantra of never allowing others to perceive her struggles.

While it can't be said that Hürrem is particularly kind towards her either (that bit at 19:38 made me wince), Hatice continues to show herself a poor player in her own schemes by continually showing her whole hand to her opponent for the limited returns of rubbing things into that opponent's face for a moment.

I agree. Don't get me wrong: I am not saying that Hatice is dumb. Even though she's not as patient or cunning as Hurrem and Sah. Hatice's problem is not intellectual, but emotional. Due to her volatile, impulsive and emotional nature, she tends to shoot her own feet by either giving her opponent too much information out of pettiness, confiding in the wrong people, or by acting too soon

@@ΧΡΗΣΤΟΣΑΜΑΝΑΤΙΔΗΣ-β7μ What's interesting is I wonder if this is why, at times, Mahidevran can emerge as an enabler of such behavior. After all, more often than not, Mahidevan's own plans fall apart due to her emotions getting the better of her. (Although, to be fair, to Hatice-Firuze was a good plan. It just fell apart due to her own creation turning against her.)

@@Redluna32 true. The plan itself wasn't bad. Hatice couldn't possibly know that Firuze was a spy/assasin working for the Persians. Who could?

@@Redluna32 and yes, ,ahidevran often enables Hatice's behaviour. She knows how to press her buttons and talk to her feelings. Which in turn override her rationality. That's why I liked Sah's schemes. She may be an arrogant, elitistic beach, but she brought a much needed air of rationality. Quite a refreshing change to the whinny Mahidevran, the petty Ibrahim and the overly emotional Hatice

Wasn't firuze older than mehmet? When she first arrived in the palace, mehmet, mihirimah were children and even cihangir was a baby. The girls who are sent to the majesty or prince, aren't they usually younger than them? Then how come, firuze was sent to mehmet when she herself was hurrem's age?

Firuze was surely older than mehmet but not as much as hurrem. It is not always true that the concubines being sent to them is always younger than them. Maybe incase of oldeer Sultans but not for Young shehzada and sultans. Because the shehzadas are really young and the harem sometimes won't have concubines their age and if a shehzada becomes the sultan in an early age it is also seen that their concubines are older than them. Kosem was about three years elder than sultan Ahmed. It's quite common.

I would imagine for his first concubine they would sent someone older, as she would also be meant to guide him into sexual maturity

The thing is, out of the concubine plot lines, it's the only one that really works well, but it's placed badly in the show. If it had been put before Hürrem's marriage to Suleiman, for example, as her final obstacle to overcome, I think it'd work a lot better.

It isn't in this one, but when Hurrem eventually confronts Afife, what she says is spot on. They all protected Firuze from the beginning, guarding her. When Hurrem became favoured, she became the target of multiple people, she had to survive multiple attempts on her life and she had to just deal with that. Yes she was arrogant and made herself even more of a target, but she was still his favourite. She was still birthing his children. But she deserved nobody's protection, but Firuze does? Afife saying she is trying to be just, but no she isn't, she is favouring one just so they can all stick it to Hurrem. It is completely unfair and she has every right to find that as a bad thing.
