@@greendude7650 if the bots get hit by spitter goo they move away from the goo and then just stop moving until the goo is gone, you could run ahead and have them behind you after getting hit by the goo and they still won’t progress forward with you until the goo is gone. Idk if this is by design or just a bug but I get it every single time a bot gets hit by goo
@@chez36i think real time cutscenes Postal 2 utilizes the same cutscene thing as l4d does its like in real time so if you put a dynamite on were the npcs are going to start their speech the cutscene will just keep playing normally but without them cuz they dead
@@builderbennythats good play the classics cause the new games these days severely lack entertainment and quality you will have more fun with friends on l4d series and other valve titles than anything cod could bring to the table
Not really a good idea, note if you are pinned and down by enemies it will take time before they can rescue you. Sometimes its futile becuase of your rule #1.
At the end I try not to leave them behind once they go down unless there's a really big horde on my way or I can't cover them, most of the time I'm forced to leave them behind but on those times I don't,they feel like an accomplishment
Unless you're a pro at this where you have the ability to shove jumping Jockies and Hunters or dodge the charge of the Charger or spot a Spitter and a Smoker before they even get to you. Those specials will terminate a stray so no, unless you're a die hard l4d gamer.
That's an easy one. Whenever bots encounter a ground hazard (Be it fire from a gascan, molotov or environmental, or a Spitter's acid to mention a few examples), if the hazard is temporary, they will back off to the closest safe spot there is and wait for it to end, even if they can just easily go around. They're not that dumb, they just refuse to lose HP to a spitter's acid. If you wanted him to keep moving you should've anticipated the spit and went around it so the bot would follow and not get stuck. You gotta always remember that bots can't "see" as we do, they move through predefined routes and that's it. Bots in L4D don't create new routes in real time so if their path is blocked they will just wait for it to "fix itself" This is a problem in Dead Center. In the first chapter, before you reach the elevator, there's a few rooms whose doors can be broken who will extend a fire to the main corridor. Since it's not a permanent hazard, bots will get stuck on it and slowly lose health since they keep trying to go through to realize the hazard once again. They may occasionally go through the fire but never around it, UNLESS a player does so (Since they ultimately follow the player). You gotta remember that these are bots from the 2000s. They gotta react to a lot of unexpected events throughout a wide variety of places and spots, and this was a game released for older consoles. They didn't have enough hardware power back then to bring the bots higher in intelligence since L4D also uses The Director, a real time AI which constantly decides what's about to happen at any given moment, and that's as power consuming as it sounds. But yeah, in short, bots will, 9/10 times, wait for temporary hazards to go off unless you guide them through an alternative route
There is a mod on the workshop that improves bot ai. They’ll pick up throwables, medkits, and then they are able to pass them to you now. They will help you refuel stuff or do whatever needs to be done in order to survive. I honestly love it 😂😂
Then decided to shot you to dead together with the other bots... Yea my bot killed me in the realism expert bruhhh.. I guess he already had enough of BS 😅
For some reason, i find l4d2 ally bots dumb. When I play with bots in l4d2 most of the time they get left behind and wanders off too far ahead that makes them easy target or special infecteds. Then also, whenever rescue arrives they just don't come and follow me to board the chopper. One ocasion is when I was already inside the chopper for like 10 secs and coach just decided not to board and made his own last stand that got him yeeted by a tank
“For some reason, i find L4D2 ally bots dumb.” Way to stick out from the crowd. Also, the other problems (besides maybe the helicopter thing) sound like your problem. Waiting for another member of the team is always what you should do, unless y’all are at low HP, and it’s a run to the saferoom crescendo.
The sheer anxiety that builds up when you know your on the other side of the building & the chopper just arrived is insane. You know the hordes gonna get crazy, & that one invincible tank is gonna show up to ruin your day. Seriously I rarely make it out with the whole group, it's either one person dies or only one person survives.
Thats not really practical as bots will go to the escape once all allies are revived. In addition you are in no danger once you are in (not including instances like in dead center map wherein you are never in but outside).
I think because the voice actors of these L4D2 characters already talked in a lot of movies and series, that could be a very nice addon Idea, to allow them to use a much broader vocabulary.
There was a time when I wanted to complete Dead Center on expert and the bots just followed me, they didn't even attack, they were just standing there when a zombie came and I lost.
I have them on advanced i cannot keep up with them on regular anymore 😅 it gets annoying and more annoying dying multiple times just trying to save them and it feels sad if you abandoned them after trying but can't make it when ever you dont have medkits on you.
I sometime doesn't even care about bots when it come to the finale like this xD.. atleast you (player) are winning, and that's what bots for. Even I just kick them from the game if they get stuck or take so freaking long to get in
Unless you have a mod that improves the ai of the game, they will follow you and even grab throwables and defibrillator, although becareful and not make them hold bile
On pc you can use z or x to say things and the bots will respond and actually do what you tell them to do like the hurry and lets go voice lines with get all of them to group up and rush up to you.
