Bonjour à tous, we all love a good shopping trip and especially when Terry & Tracy go out together and with friends ⁠‪@BricoMark‬. This time the pair are on the hunt for some of the finishing touches for the 400 suite, but while looking Terry discovers something not planned, will the pair get what they’re looking for?

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Having worked in the hotel industry, my experience tells me that small valuable things such as solid silver teaspoons in guest rooms present too much temptation to some people to souvenir. It's a sad fact of life , but not all guests will be honest and at some stage those spoons will walk. On a lighter note though, that marble topped dresser is just fabulous.

I also have a bed and breakfast business and couples (on a romantic break particularly) do like souveniers! Most guests are good, however, we have had the odd crystal drop taken from chandeliers and lamps. A favourite romantic gesture is to keep the ace of hearts from the pack of cards. These things have to be treated as replaceable and a stock of replacements need to be kept handy. Unfortunately, it is all part of the job! TIP - put packs of cards in the rooms and the crystal drops may stay in-situ! 🤞xx

That mirror looks perfect. Hope you didn't put it too high on the wall. Remember there are some short adults...I am only 5' tall and have problems all the time, especially when travelling.😢😁👍🇦🇺

Perfect mirror for the bathroom. I think you should get the marble topped dresser. It’s a statement piece. Glad Ash was able to negotiate a deal for the chair, when he went to purchase the hallway mirror. Very successful shopping excursions. ❤🏰

Terry, you looked like a little boy on Christmas morning when you saw that chair🥰. I thought somehow it was going to live with you. Good job Ash, getting a deal on it. Love that mirror for bathroom❤. Just right all around. I could spend days (and a fortune) in those brochantes .

What a team! Terry and Tracy find the treasure and Ash negotiates the deals.👍👍 Every piece is a winner. I love the curule chair. Once restored, it will be a stunner. Nice score on the matching silver spoons. Sometimes we just have to collect things one or two at a time. It's always so much fun when you find it unexpectedly. Voilà! There it is.🥄🥄 I really like the shape of the Venetian mirror. It's not so expected. Excellent choice. The hall mirror looks yummy too. As for advise on the furniture choices, the commode is lovely, but so is the other piece that better fits the design on the mood board in Terry's head. I'm not sure I understand the hesitation. The prices weren't amazing, so I'm glad better deals were negotiated. Brico Mark's mom is a hoot. I'm anxious to see what they found too. ❤ from TX!

Love the new Venetian mirror! That Louis XV bombé commode is beautiful, too. For some reason, I'd gotten the idea you were looking to do more Louis XVI style in the rooms you're working on now. To me, Louis XVI is a bit easier to work with, because you can mix certain transition (what they mean in France by transition, the period between Louis XV and XVI) pieces, and certain empire pieces with it and looks good, and even some other styles go well with it. But, there's no denying there are some fantastic Louis XV pieces wandering around loose, just waiting to be rediscovered. Especially in wardrobes, beds, and desks! I look forward to seeing that X-tabouret (I think that's what it's called) all fixed up. Amazing that it has what looks like a coat of arms carved on one side. You sure have some amazing brocantes in your area!

This was definitely worth the wait! When Tracy said, "we got got inches to spare," I almost choked laughing! I am glad you got that little bench at a reduced price. You will make it beautiful again. The bureau and the secretaire are also beautiful. The mirror in the bathroom is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for there. I look forward to the reveal on the hall mirror. Well done on your haul. Nothing beats a good retail therapy except mom's homemade bread. I am not a mom, but I did make a fresh batch of homemade bread and buns last night. I wish you could all pop by for some. Tonight, I will make homemade apple pie. It's wet and cold here, and I enjoy baking and cooking for others. Best wishes all. Now, I will check out BricoMark. I am enjoying their videos as well. Tanya is a hoot.❤

When I travel my preference would be the big marble topped dresser for storing my things. Those other small tables are unpractical with the metal edging sticking up. And the stunning little desk is perfect for a computer area in the room. The mirror is lovely!

Re the drawers,I think you need to think about functionality as well as form. This suite is large and possibly for stays of more than a day or so, so you need drawers that work easily and hold enough for 2 people for several days. The small one really would be lovely but a bit small. Also you need 2 chairs which are comfortable to relax in, not just to perch on, as well as being pretty.

Love the mirror. A friend of mine has an old 1800s house and has the wall up the stairs filled with antique Vanician Mirrors. Yours looks lovely in the bathroom. Bless Ash, he has great bartering skills! Can't wait to see what you do w the bench. I liked it too.

It was wonderful again to tour another brocante Terry with you and your Mother! Glad you found some of the items you were looking for at the two shops. I do believe you should purchased the marble topped commode/dresser, it would look lovely in your 401 suite. You can mix and match the Louis styles. A château decor would’ve evolved over the years, newer pieces being bought in the 18th and early 19th centuries.

LOL I totally knew Terry would get the chair! Once he has something in his mind he has to follow through and I always agree with his choices. I wonder how many times Ash has had to go back for things. Fairly certain I have seen at least 3 times that has happened in videos. I can't wait to see the results of the refinishing because terry works wonders with chairs!

That mirror is so pretty but as someone who is vertically challenged, you may want to think about lowering it. Unless all your guests are tall not everyone will be able to see into it. I know it would be above my head.
