Everyone's getting mad at this guy for negotiating, it's not like the people were upset, they're just trying to get rid of it. This is the kind of stuff you do at garage sales. It's business, if all of you saw the price it took to produce the things you use daily compared to the retail prices that you pay you'd feel like you were cheated, so it's ok if a wealthy company does it but as soon as an average person does it it's "unfair"? He's a smart guy, maybe he negotiated a bit more then we would've but the people selling it obviously didn't care, the main purpose of having a garage sale is getting rid of junk and maybe making a little cash on the side, if they wanted to take the time to post it on ebay or craigslist they would've.

I always leave the giant wad of money IN my pocket...not waving it in the seller's face after you just negotiated down on the price....and then asking them to make change showing that you have the money to pay for the original price. May work for you...but I don't PERSONALLY care for that tactic. Just me.

I like that you show your vids and take the time. Although I find it a bit disturbing haggling from 3 to 2 bucks. Im all for haggling but when you and I both know your already making easy profit on the item is it really so hard to pay a price that is more then fair to begin with??? A bit of character actually goes along way and perhaps gratitude for the seller who your making a living off of. Dam that lady gave you a working record player for 3 dollars and you asked for 2 dollars. That was pretty cold. I don't know if I could ever do that hahaha. I do notice that as I buy more I become more comfortable and do things I used to not do.

I've been to garage sale where people were asking too low of a price and they don't want to take the money when I tell them I want to pay them more. It's usually a older lady selling her husband's stuff. One lady had some snap-on tools and was asking like a dime each. She refused to take the money when I tried to give her $50. I had to just leave it behind on a table to get her to take it.

Had to turn this guy off, offering so little money. What an operator.

Take some change to the sales.

Hey, Pete, I'm not going to give you shit for hitting the lady for a dollar less, but you need TWO STACKS of cash. One with small bills up to about $60 total, and then your big stack. That way, when you haggle an old lady for one or five dollars off an item, you don't pull out $3,000 in her face. It's not good business.

it's been commented on here, but not really liking the need to negotiate on everything. If you get a great price, don't be greedy. and if you're going to haggle with the price and get them down from $25 to $15, at least have exact change and don't make them go give you change after you just robbed them :) I like to negotiate, but i also know when to not push for an extra $1 or 2

Some people get a high off of "winning", which is a sad way to live. CL Hunter, you are one of them. I've been watching you for awhile and never comment on any videos but this was very disrespectful. This clearly makes other resellers look bad. You should look at both sides of the situation to get a better understanding and for that $1-$2, just make it up on the next route.

I love to haggle but have the decency to know when not to. I've found the best treasures from people who decide to show me something I may be interested in that wasn't out for sale simply because I treated them with respect.

After reading the comments, im glad i wasnt the only person who thought he was rude and greedy with the people he purchased from. You could cringe at the moment he got her down to 15 from 25 and then made her go inside to give him change for his $20 that he just pushed her down from.

It's pretty common knowledge that you should take small bills to garage sales instead of constantly asking people to make change for your twenties. It's simple garage sale etiquette, plus it can benefit you as the buyer because when they are asking $10 for something and you only have a $5 and a $1 in your hand, they are more willing to take $6 because they think that's all you have. Better than them seeing you pull out wads of $20 bills from your pocket after you just haggled them that far down.

This is called FLEA MARKETING. This is not a grocery store or Macy’s where prices are not negotiable. This is selling stuff without paying taxes to the government. Do you think the people selling are claiming the extra cash and paying taxes at the end of the year?????? Guess what??? He has to!!!!

Y'all keep saying that he was being rude to the Star Wars lady, but honestly after watching it, it seemed like a very normal negotiation. Sorry, I know everyone's hearts break nowadays when one person doesn't act "perfect" or "nice" to them, but this was an everyday encounter. Both are using simple negotiating tactics to try and get a better deal for themselves. This is real life people. Are feelings going to be hurt? :( yes. So what, it's a part of life. Competition is a part of nature. If y'all wanna argue that he was being rude to her, then I can say just as much for her, by not giving him a welcoming "hi" and being short with him. Nice video ! But I'm a little skeptical about the teak chairs. There are many kinds of teak, and not all of them are expensive. Birmanian teak is the best. Then some african teak can also be expensive. This is because the trees are old so they give big planks. Usually this kind of garden furniture is made with artificially grown teak, since the planks needed are not as long as for a boat deck for instance. In France a set of teak table + 4 chairs usually retails for 200 to 300 euros (250 to 400 dollars). Thanks for the videos anyway !

It's true, if you're already getting a deal, why dicker. I have picked up some very cool resalable items for the prices mentioned. I think the coolest thing I found at a garage sale was an original Star Wars droid factory in the box, from '77, I think I paid a buck for it.

Brand new chairs and when you buy you take all the risk. The woman allowed her kids to help. I think the kids appreciated the chairs more. He educated her on how teak is highly prized. kind of wish the star wars lady had those chairs. And yes I agree it is a weak move waving wads of cash. Lamp lady was the one I felt super bad for.

The outcome for haggling over over items that shouldn't even be haggled over may have turned out better if some respect was shown to the seller/owner. It's kinda like watching someone trying to buy a ten dollar bill but offering five dollars for it, then telling them the ink is faded on the bill, it ain't right

Drives me crazy at yard sales when people start telling me how much they sell for on eBay. Then they look it up and they look at the highest priced one as there a point of reference. I tell them know you need to look at completed auctions and see what they actually sell for not what people are asking. The other thing some people will price things very high in their yard sale because they said they watched an episode of antiques roadshow or American pickers and that’s how they do their pricing. I tend to not stop at sales that are too organized like it looks like they do their sale every Saturday because everything is set up like a store in their garage. Also you can sometimes tell from their garage sale signs on the street if they are doing it frequently. Sometimes they’ll actually have signs made of plywood that are hand painted or with big vinyl sticker lettering on them. I just stay away from those there’s too many other good sales and if it’s a bad day for sales I just Drive to the nearest swap meet. At the swap meets I find people who are obviously selling the contents of a storage unit that they bought. That’s where you find the real deals because there’s no way that they are going to be experts on all of their categories state or selling.
