my hytale phase comes back every few months. i’ll always be a supporter of hypixel and hytale and will continue to support them. Hytale feels like what i’ve wanted from minecraft for years and playing Hytale with friends seems like it could be an incredibly enjoyable time. There’s little news and yet i’m still here :)
Greatly made and informative video as per usual, Jamble! Sorry I didn't make it for the premiere, but WOW! Video was great! One thing that always kind of gets me is this discussion of 'Hype'. I know it's good for games, but it can also be a killer. Valheim is a great showcase of over-hype. Many many people bought the game, over five million, and how many people are playing it now? 23k average in the last 30 days on steam charts. For a game to survive this 'Hype-train" that has been spreading to almost every new game, it has to have something to grab onto. Players have to stay enticed to play. I do truly think Hytale will be a game that a fuck ton of people will play, but it will keep the majority of the playerbase. I could be wrong, I may very well be wrong, but that's what I believe. I think it's better for the 'Hype' for Hytale to die down right now, the developers don't need a million eyeballs keeping watch on them while they're trying to make one of the most anticipated games. When the game is closing to release and they drop a new trailer with a release date or a beta date, you bet your ass the internet is going to blow up Hytale again. Again, great video Jamie! Keep up the great work.
I've come to accept by now that the game won't be releasing any time soon, and I've completely lost track of time since the announcement trailer. Been signed up for the beta since that very same day, all those years ago. Honestly, I don't personally mind. I'll still be alive when the game releases, still have a computer, and it looks like I'll have a nice group of friends to play it with. If it takes Hypixel a couple more years to make the game perfect, then I'll wait. I understand the justified impatience of the game. And I won't fault anyone for falling out of the loop for it. I, personally, however, I'm perfectly fine with waiting, even if it takes them until '25. All the more reason for me to be joyful about it when it finally does come. Besides, it's not like all I'm doing with my life is frothing at the mouth and waiting for Hypixel to give me more about the game; there's a reason I've hardly noticed the passage of time. Life's full of other things to do. That's the great part of waiting- you can do that while doing just about anything else with your time.
Over ambition can absolutely KILL a gaming project. Base game Minecraft didn't become the all-time best-selling game by being the most complex game experience. In actuality, it was a fairly modest affair and generally remains such even with all of it's updates. Is it worth implementing a hundred extra things b/c you have a larger and more competent staff if it takes literally FOREVER for the game to actually release? We shall see.
It's a shame that they're in this phase, I hope they won't pull a cyberpunk2077 and have it completely flop. I also hope they won't start copying minecraft or other games with customization and everything. Their game looked so interesting and cool but now they're crumbling under the pressure because they want to deliver to everyone's expectations. I think the best thing they can do is release the game without any bugs and add content later on before it's to late and people demand a perfect game right after launching. Exploring new content every few weeks or months would probably be more fun than immediately being dropped in a fully finished game. It would also increase hype every update and people will start speculating which in turn gives them a lot of media attention which will be even better for the game. Amazing video as always :).
All I have to say is I am looking forwards to playing this when I get back from My mission. It could take 1 more year. Could be 5. I'll be happily waiting there either way.
Honestly, I'd try to make the game playable at least, then make a decent beta that would ease the people, and get opinions on what needs to be changed and whatnot But hey! What do I know? Not like I have experience in game development. 👍
@@Jamble busy busy, but still working on my hytale models when I have time. My YT channel is still modest, but I am happy to see the subs increase consistently and people appreciate my work, what encourages me to carry on!
Well to know that a game is in dev hell can be bad. But. The faith of people dat gives the devs actually a morale boost is even more important if you think about it.
I think that if the game is good it will do well and if it isn't good it won't do well (super hot take) we will have to wait to play it to find out. Also, I think the hype dying down won't matter enough to kill the success of the game. Enough people remember Hytale for streamers to play it that will show everyone clearly if the game is good or not. One streamer alone can pump tons of life into a game if it is "good".
I think you are 100% correct, if its good, it will blow up from creators and hype and if it flops, it will be just be another minecraft clone let down. Though it looks good already.
chad minecraft released as 0.0.10a vs virgin hytale released after 10 years. i think hytale needs to release, they can update their game afterwards as long as it doesn't get released as a hard copy like as a CD that can't get updates. look how minecraft looked when it was released and how it looks today, look how tf2 looked when it was released and how it looks today (without the bots). the game is already as good as modern minecraft if not better, we don't need multidimensional portals and story bosses at the beginning as long as we can just play it and explore the current game, we can enjoy every update they bring as we play, imagine the content if they release the interdimensional update, also a released game brings all the test data and feedback they could need for a even better game, people that say "better to wait than a bad game" are the reason why the game won't release and it will become a meme in this community like "random crits are fair and balanced" in tf2. also i think they changed the combat mechanic since it didn't work or made no fun in pvp for some reason
They want to give the game with a complete story because games that build up hype before its even finished die because all the bugs are anything people think of
Are you forgetting that team fortress was in development for 9 years and that they started from scratch, with completely new artstyles and concepts multiple times?
Look, I don't expect much even though I expect a lot I guess because I have hit a thing where I dont play many games anymore because they have all gone bland for me so I don't have any hope for games but I do want hytale to be everything that we expect
Yeah, I feel that it will be similar to Minecraft in the ways we expect it to be, but I am hoping that the adventure and dungeons side will feel more like terraria or rpgs. Great comment btw!
Lol, after Cyberpunk, they probably don't want to release a game not fully made? I feel like Hytale is playable, and probably great, but it doesn't have all the features they want. I completely support them, and will happily wait.
This game should have been announced at the end of 2021, instead they announced it over 4 years ago and have had to restart development TWICE in that time. "2023 at the earliest" is a total joke.
