I was born with one hand, and faced so much adversity growing up. I thought I wasn’t gonna be able to take care of myself as a man and my family. I was denied my childhood dream of going to the military. Watching your channel give out knowledge and showing us it’s possible through your channel continues to inspire and motivate me to be the best version of myself and to stay focused on my bodybuild journey even tho I was born with one hand, you taught me how to train properly. I’m manifesting I’ll be at 1Million Subs One Day! I wanna say I thank you for being that inspiration Charles. Much Respect ✊🏾
@@CharlesGlassGOB thank you for sharing your knowledge and tips. Even with my one hand, your knowledge and form you’ve taught is the best thing I’ve learned. Much Respect and blessings ✊🏾
As teen, back in "83" (???) I remember ,watching Charles compete in Mr. Olympia and he did a back flip and hand planche on stage in his posing routine. Cool AF! (Damn 37yrs ago... ) 🤦♂️
Flex wasn't about training heavy. It was more about the pump and a lot of bloodflow. The weight is just a tool to connect your mind to your body. Nobody gonna be asking anyone to lift anything on the Olympia stage. Also, strength doesn't only have to do with the size of your muscles, but also relative length as far as leverage goes, as well as central nervous system activation. Some people are surprisingly strong naturally, even if they don't look it
Great teacherBecause he always explained to me what we were doing when we trained so I could visualize….I still here him in my head when I get on a machine 20 years later!
Flex and Charles were some of the most symmetrical and genetically gifted in the history of bodybuilding ,.....full.muscle bellys, tie ins, small waists......determination and lots of hard work in the gym.
@@soofitnsexy Not compared to today's bodybuilders, who can fill a kitchen table with a week's supply ......they didn't have the variety of designer drugs ,.....mainly.some dianabol and diuretics, ....... (in the 60s.)....Charles was not a mass monster.
Prime Flex was a beast! I was in high school back then, reminds me when I first started working out for football. Watching Lee Haney show on ESPN. We had to go out & buy magazines & set the vcr timer to catch the limited content lllol
Man I miss those vcr days...if you were good you would pause the commercials. Looking back now, the commercials were almost as good as the program. Lol
Flex was the turning point in bodybuilding. The judges and BB elites chose the mass look over symmetry and shape. They both have their 'philosophical Aesthetic appeal"...but nothing was ever the same after that.
This is GREAT footage! You rarely see bodybuilders these days as TIGHT as Charles in this video. And there is a reason! Lots of junk and trash workouts. Calisthenics is key to getting that tight, swole look. Great work Charles. We met at Playa Vista park in LA a few years back. Peace and power!
Charles Glass’ mind with Flex’s genetics would’ve been the most dominant pro bodybuilder ever. Younger people today with access to everything don’t understand. The only time we got remotely close to these guys was in Flex magazine or Muscle and Fitness. I never even knew what many of my favorite bodybuilders sounded like, but I always saw Charles Glass’ name associated with anyone trying to be great. He was and still is ahead of his time. Stay well, king! 🙏🏽
The gyms and bodybuilders at that time were the real deal, not like today's gyms and bodybuilders! Gyms and the people training today's are too dramatic about training hard and complaining about every little thing! Great video!
Mr glass I wish u in New York I had the opportunity to train and become good friends with Leon brown. He recently passed away at 74. Gained much knowledge from him and watching your videos. True inspiration
In my opinion, Wheeler is the greatest of all time. No one has ever come close to his aesthetics with fullness and symmetry. No one. He had zero flaws in his prime. Nothing over or underdeveloped compared to anything else on him. However, that outfit is the result of losing a bad bet. 😂
Charles was a mechanical engineer, gymnast, and power lifter .......applying that to bodybuilding is a win, win situation, ......being a pro.for years ,learning things from pros and in the golds gym setting, Charles is a master trainer, he's also a skillful poser,......A--Z.....he's the man.
Wow. Time flies. Drove 45 miles - each way - in CA traffic to do a session with Charles and Peter in the early 90s. Totally worth it. Still use some of those tips today.
5:25 this capture shows the true greatness by both men. On the right we have the up and coming phenom whose taken the stage by storm with his physique and mass, and on the left we have the master of masters teaching him the secrets and the ways to pushing their boundaries way past their limits
I don't care what those judges saw back then Flex should've gotten at least 1 Mr O title. You can even make an argument that he should've had 2 but c'mon at least 1. One of the greatest aesthetic physiques that ever graced the stage.
dude you are lucky to see that shit. I am not even sure if there is any machine nowadays that can play whatever tape they were recording on those days lol
Yes this here right here is dopey dope young CG straight history right here . But I love how you are so young right here but everything you say and do is like watching you today. You da same damn person , everything about you . I think that’s so cool brotha , you very real 💯!
