Charles has over 40 years of experience as a trainer. Charles has modified his methods through years of practical experience, observation, and results to produce dramatic and significant gains to anyone that applies them. Prior to becoming the Godfather of Bodybuilding, Charles was an engineer. His engineering background gave him additional insight and perspective on ways to manipulate the angles of exercises to improve their ability to recruit muscle fibers. Charles is known for adjusting exercises so that a greater number of muscle fibers are recruited, which leads to greater development of the trained muscles.
In my opinion, people who train muscles for their looks and not for their movement and strength are girls. The obliques are really important muscles. It's not like you will grow fins, but they are the wings of your abs. With only abs and no obliques, you will look like a box of ice cubes. Catch yourself squatting or deadlifting, breaking your back because you don't have the muscles that support it.
I hope someone invents a machine that mimics the squat exactly. What if the leg press's back rest was more vertical (at a much lower angle) wouldn't it be a more effective exercise? Leg presses I suppose are good but when you squat instead of doing leg press, you are not able to lift anywhere near the same weight.
Mr Glass is a genius. He's on the walls of the hieroglyphics. A God of exercising mastery of angles. It's supreme mathematics and I need to be a lifetime student.
