This video is random, I know. However, I am sure there are people who would find this topic interesting so I posted it! I started my essential oil journey using Young Living essential oils, then Doterra essential oils. And I remember noticing that they smelt different... hmmm, that was interesting. Then, I started exploring other companies like Plant Therapy and Florihana. And I noticed some other differences! So watch this video to see me compare them!

You forgot to mention the $$ for these . Plant therapy is best in price 😉 🌱 Plant Therapy is my favorite! They send their EO to be tested by a third party so they can’t hid “things” from you. (hint hint) one of these other brands test their own products them selves 🤔. Plant Therapy also posts their test results on their website as well. They are 💯 % honest Plus you don’t pay to be a member! Also, try their kids kids safe line, it’s amazing !!!

Yes, i agree with that, PT offer free delivery if I not mistaken but it will take longer time to reach you. Of course there are some essential oil with USDA organic label might be more expensive, but in my opinion as a PT user, you not even need to buy an EO with USDA organic label because most of EO are 100% pure EO extract from the plant directly without mix any chemical compound. So it is safe oil to use and worth for money’s if you want to enjoy good quality EO but cheaper price.

I LOVE the blends from Rocky Mountain Oils. They are pricey, but on some they are definitely worth it. I really enjoy Doterra as well. Never tried Young Living. But Plant therapy is great for singles. Eden's garden has great blends. And Florihana is my FAV. single oils on the market. Florihana is amazing for Lavender, and Myrrh, and even Frankincense.

I posted on my Instagram story that I’m excited to try out essential oils for first time. I bought two from PT. My friend from high school private DMed me and said she’s an advocate for YL and told me all this stuff about how it’s the only real oils out there. I was disappointed and started researching the difference and came across your video and the comment section. I’m glad I didn’t buy a $165 start kit from YL wasting my money too on being “popular” still waiting for my PT oils to arrive.

@JessentialLife
@JessentialLife 2 года назад
Thanks. And you are right. The smell of an essential oil doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of an essential oil, however it can help. (Sometimes smell does have to do with quality/purity in the sense that once one develops their nose they can spot fakes easier but smelling an oil is not fail proof ;-) ) But as for this video, the smell does not reflect the quality of each of the brands as I would be okay with using all 3 brands in terms of quality.

Well, oils that smells ''better'' or stronger are sometimes adulterated. Plant therapy doesn't have to attain a certificate of therapeutic purity grade so they can put whatever additives on their oils to smell good or nice, or strong. So does YL... Does it matter? YES if you try to heal yourself from the celullar level... And no, if you care only about aromatherapy itself or making soaps and nice body scrubs... For example, let's take Copaiba. Does it smells nice? Not really. I can't even smell it, it's subtle. Not the best oil to put in a perfume... But it has almost the same chemical ''print'' as CBD, except the part that give ''addiction'' and it's the best known natural antinflamatory oil for the body. I must say, I appreciate a lot this video and I have subscribed, because it is important to talk about things as they are and yes, the smell, too, is very important!!

@JessentialLife
@JessentialLife 3 года назад
I believe they are both pure, Young Living and doTERRA. I've used both. Both have been extremely effective for me ♡. However, Young Living doesn't provide their GC/MS reports (purity test results) to the public so it is hard to say for sure if they are actually pure (however, I don't have reason to believe they are not pure, except for in the past when I have heard cases when some of Young Living's oils have been found adulterated. If you would like to see one of these stories, Google "The day Young Living Broke my Heart". You will find one. Personally, I have had a good experience with YL in terms of the oils working, but it bothers me that Young Living doesn't provide their purity test results to the public... yikes. I believe EVERY essential oil company should provide these purity test results (GC/MS reports) to their customers... so when they don't, I generally don't like to buy from them. All that being said, there is NOT just one good essential oil company (leaving the others to be synthetic). There are many wonderful options to choose from in regards to eo companies with pure eos.

I do love the smell of DoTerra's Peppermint (it smells sweet and more tolerable) but I don't have Plant Therapy's to compare, only a sample from Young Living and a brand from Amazon that I first bought before knowing about EO purity safety. I'm not a huge fan of the smell of Plant Therapy's Clary Sage either, but have no other to compare. I like DoTerra's Grapefruit, but again none to compare to. Some of the essential oil, like YL Lemon and DT Lemon both can use for internally while plant therapy can use only for topically and aromatically but not suitable for internally use. This is why there are different. You are right, some of PT essential oil really concentrated for example cinnamon bark. Those who use PT cinnamon bark must be careful the oil maybe cause sensitive skin so you need to dilute it before use. Unlike DT cinnamon bark which less concentrated than PT one, you won’t feel your hand itch after use.
@JessentialLife

@JessentialLife
@JessentialLife 4 года назад
And I respect your comment about the internal usage. It's neat to see you have check into this. If you don't mind, I would like to add my opinion and experience if that's okay... I used to be with Young Living and doTERRA and you are right...they do encourage internal usage of essential oils. You are correct that plant therapy does not encourage the internal use of essential oils. I believe that YL and doterra encourage this usage because of their training and qualifications (it doesn't seem that any are aromatherapists). If the owners of Young Living and doTERRA were aromatherapists then they would not encourage the unsafe practice of using essential oils by adding it to your water nor would they be able to encourage the ingestion of essential oils lightly. At Plant Therapy, they are aromatherapists and know the risks and liabilities associated with ingestion. If you take a look at a few associations of aromatherapists such as NAHA or AIA, you will see that aromatherapists do not have the right in North America to encourage the ingestion of essential oils if they want to remain in practice (because of the risks and dangers associated with it). As an aromatherapy student, I am concerned that MLM companies such as Young Living and doTERRA are encouraging the ingestion of essential oils. I think it is great that you are checking out different brands. :-) I hope you are having a lovely day!
@liphinlaw3850
@liphinlaw3850 4 года назад
Yes those Essential oil extracted fully from any plant are concentrated, so it will become burden to our organ like liver if you take it internally directly. But if you put in the food recipe the risk should be lower because it will dilute with cooking oil. Doterra now also distinguish different type of oil, once is for food like Oregano, you can use to make pasta but the other can use tropically only. Therefore the price will be different, make you check carefully before order.

I have 2 friends who commented PT smelling more concentrated than doTERRA. 1 of them also said PT and YL smell stronger than doTERRA oil. It is not an apple to apple comparison though, so I don't know how valid it is. Anyways, do u think doTERRA being milder in smell is one of the reason why they recommend higher dilution rate? As I read on their website, no particular oil mentioned, it's a 20% dilution
@JessentialLife
@JessentialLife 2 года назад
Thanks for sharing all this! I love hearing different comparisons like this and other people's experiences. As for your question about "do I think that doterra recommends higher dilution rates to be used because you've stated their oils seem milder in scent?" That is a super question! However, I really don't believe so. Unfortunately, these types of dilution rates are recommended by the two main MLM essential oil companies. So I think it is just that. Some of the doterra founders used to work with YL. From what I've seen, they recommend that a lot of oils be used neat or barely diluted. There are different speculations why doterra and YL recommend such high dilution rates and "unsafe" usage recommendations in the eyes of most aromatherapists. Some think it's for money, more drops used, more sales. And personally when I was in a business call with an upline I was told to encourage higher dilution rates in rollers because people would use their oils faster and would have to buy more. More sales = more commissions. This was before I was educated, but still something didn't seem right.

I really want to purchase neroli oil but it always seems to be that little pricey. I'm going to check out these brands. Thanks! I'm always after something that is a little different.

I Iike like you are open to trying different oils! 😊 Neroli is a considered a precious oil (like rose is) so unfortunately it will be a more on the pricey side. However, Plant Therapy will be more affordable than doterra (if that helps). 😊. And just a heads up, if neroli is too affordable, that's usually a red flag that it may not pure or may be adulterated. So it's okay to invest a pretty penny into an oil like neroli. Good luck!🌿✌🏻

Hi Stepha! In regards to all of these companies, they are all pure =). Young Living and doTERRA are the most expensive (because of the MLM business model). However, Plant Therapy is one of my personal favorite go to. They are pure AND I love the pricing. IF you are interested in trying Plant Therapy out, I have a referral link that would get you $10 OFF your first $25+ order. You may click it and it will give you a Code to APPLY AT CHECKOUT ;). rwrd.io/s39nv13 (You don't have to click the link, but I felt I should share it with you just in case you could benefit from it)

@JessentialLife

Hi Sarah Renee! Great question. To respond to your question about ingesting essential oils and putting them in your mouth, I understand that MLM companies (doTERRA and Young Living) really push this and encourage this practice, however it isn't really a practice that is encouraged by aromatherapists because of the safety risks behind it. Can you ingest with Plant Therapy? Well, it is possible. They are pure! However, they have aromatherapists on staff and wouldn't encourage ingestion without the supervision of a someone trained. And to be honest, for migraine relief it is not necessary to ingest and just by applying it diluted around your head and neck and inhaling it should be sufficient. I think you would be surprised ♡♡. Hope this helps!

Plant Therapy's lavender is Bulgarian Lavender which I don't like the smell of. Their Lavender Fine is grown in France and smells more like DT which is (I believe) where DT sources their lavender too. I'll never get used to PT's lavender either, I hate Bulgarian lavender!

Are these organic or non organic EO's ? Because in my experience that's all the difference that matters. Differences between locations are superficial.
@JessentialLife

I'm not sure about YL. doTERRA says they are "beyond organic" (not really sure how to take that). But Plant Therapy has BOTH organic and non-organic options for their oils. (I should have a shop link in the description for returning customers and referral link & code to save money on your first Plant Therapy order if you like).

@@JessentialLife No thanks, I am buying oils from New Directions Aromatics and some other companies since 2011. But only in the last 3 years , I buy only organics since the difference is so fundamental. I have to since my skin is so sensitive as I have psoriasis so now I only use organics and trying to figure out what to do with these non organic oils since they are so irritating to my skin other than using them for cleaning . That "beyond organic" sounds like non organic

Hi I’ve been recently trying to get into essential oils to help with cold and flu and boost our immune system I looked into eco modern essentials have you tried them or heard about them? But now I’m kind of thinking about getting into plant therapy idk I really want something 100% pure or close to it. What do you recommend?
@JessentialLife
@JessentialLife 4 года назад
Hi Michelle! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Essential oils are a great way to support your body and immune system so congratulations on stepping into the world of aromatherapy! To be honest, I've never heard of eco modern essentials until now! So thank you for introducing me to them. I just quickly skimmed their website to check them out. I see that they are an Australian company. That is really neat. I don't know enough about the company to really tell you if I would say they are "better" or comparable to Plant Therapy and I want to be careful in saying one brand is better than another (unless there are some serious reasons or red flags for me to do so.) Here is a secret: there are actually a lot of great brands out there 😉. What I can say about what I briefly saw on the eco modern essentials was that I didn't have any blatant red flags jumping out at me (like all the oils having the same price, questionable price range of the oils, missing latin binomial names, etc). However the site was missing some information that I PERSONALLY look for on a company's website (such as available GC/MS reports, disclosed dilution rates of roll-on products, etc.). Again, this is just my personal preference. But to be honest, Plant Therapy is my current favourite. And Plant Therapy's staff are aromatherapists so they are professionals and can give educated opinions and advice. Not all companies offer that. I really trust them, their products and safety information (except for that one product they had in the past for ear infections... essential oils should NEVER be put inside your ears.) But other than that, they are my go to and I HIGHLY recommend them. If you'd like, I have a link in the description of my video that will give you $10 off your first purchase of $25 or more (and it will give me $10 towards my next order). I don't know what else to say 😊 because I don't know the other company very well, but I am extremely satisfied with PT. JESS P.S. Their prices are in USD.

I've done about 800 hours of research on essential oils and which are the best. Plant Therapy and Eden's Garden are my favorite brands PT more than EG. PT has my favorite singles and the company itself is a great one super great customer service. EG has my favorite blends but the customer service is not my favorite so just because of that I always like to get PT. With PT if you don't like an oil you get, just let them know and it's refunded no questions asked-amazing, it shows they truly care about their customers. You can ask whatever questions you need and their aromatherapist will quickly get back with you with loads of helpful info. They just go above and beyond I love that! They also do RU-vid live videos 2 times a week and you can win several different oils per live video, super cool! Hope that helps!

Clary Sage from PT is one of my favorite oils! I've tried from several other brands and PT has my favorite! Everyone's smell is different though, even my smell changes from time to time! At first I hated Eucalyptus, but then after smelling a few times it's like my smell changed and now love it, same thing happened to me with peppermint also. Used too I loved French lavender, I never had Clary Sage before and got some, well I fell in love with it and started using that allot, well I went to use my lavender and I didn't love it like I once did. For me my smell changes everytime I find a new favorite oil, pretty odd! Lol I've always wanted to try Florahana, in general do you like Florahana or PT better?
@JessentialLife
@JessentialLife 4 года назад
Definitely, I believe our tastes and preferences change over time! And Clary Sage from PT is growing on me too 🙂. Thanks for sharing with me how your preferences have changed. I dont know if I have already smelled the French Lavender. That is a must do now!! Haha. Hmmm... good question! Florihana vs PT. I only have 3 eos from Florihana, but I really do think they are both good... I cannot say one is better than the other. However PT is my natural go-to because: 💚Service is in English (although I do speak French, I prefer service in my first language.) 💚I know they have aromatherapists in the company to answer any questions (I'm not sure for Florihana though. I haven't really looked into it much because I am really happy with PT). 💚Their teachings match my aromatherapy studies so when I have questions for them I know we are on the same page. 💚PT perks and rewards program. I'm HOOKED. 💚Customer service is great. 💚France is far so I thought I would support the North American economy over the European economy... it's "almost local" haha. I'm Canadian. 💚 Their bottles are WAAAY more easier to open then PTs Hope this answers your question! I guess I just fell in love with PT so I don't feel the need to look elsewhere.🌿✌🏻

@@JessentialLife Oh wow! Thank you! Exactly what I needed to hear, it sounds like you and I are also in the same page! Lol Yeah I won't even bother to try Florahana now. So the French Lavender, Plant Therapy calls theirs Organic Lavender Fine, it's grown in high altitude in France it only is harvested a few months out of the year and because of that it has more therapeutic values. The best french lavender I have ever smelled and I truly love it is surprisingly a store brand , I have not done any research on the brand so I'm not sure of it's therapeutic values but just the smell alone is amazing and it instantly makes me at peace. It's called rareEssence, it's actually low altitude from Province region of France, it has lower ester content than high altitude so that may be what makes it smell better (to me). I put an Amazon link below so you can check it out if you like. Have a great day! www.amazon.com/dp/B014UUXBDS/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_qvpJEbBYDGE48
