i think they are trying to say that only groups that are super popular like xxl the size, are most popular on screen, which is everyone's dream, but in the end no one cares abt you only you on the screen
i feel like in the mv they were saying they can become big in the industry, but people keep criticising them, comment on how young they are, and say that they are unoriginal. They could become large scale and do large scale shows(i.e xxl) but people are still sleeping on their talent, at the end of the mv, they get pushed aside for another group performing. They always make songs about food cause they are hungry for more.Hungry for all the dreams they want to achieve as a kpop group. Basically this song was a call out to people to stop hatin and just dont knock it until you try their music, because they can do it xxl , excel and accel periodt💅
The MV has a good meaning but long story short they wanted to go big and be big hence the title XXL but in the process they overdid it and ended up not making it big (XXL) lol the MV was just a weird way of presenting it to you the title track and name of the album ROTY work hand in hand
Definitely gives early 2000s vibes 🔥 reminds me of something I would hear on nfl / nba street back in the day 😂 Their xxl mini album is really good too
I'm binging reactions to this, and till now, not one got the Wu Tang Clan reference line!! 😂😂😂 they literally say 'Maybe Baby version Wu Tang Clan" and it Slaps so hard, cause I was thinking that 😂😂
They are actually so cool. I suggest listening to their album it’s SUPER GOOD! I’ve been having it on loop I’m glad that they are being fun and just being silly. It’s refreshing
young posse already demonstrated that they like to relate their concept with food, so xxl primarily refers to the size of fast food foods like a burguer, a soda. BUT it is also a play with the xxl magazine and the baggy clothes that are common on rap/hip hop scenario!
The song/EP title is both a play on the magazine name and doing it extra extra large. One of the tracks on the EP when you translate the title is "My Name Is (ROTY)", ROTY meaning Rookie of the Year referencing the XXL Freshmen thing. Another thing you should know is the beat to this song basically samples Seotaeji's Come Back Home (Seotaeji is like a kpop legend from the 90s), so the whole song is kind of an homage.
When they first debuted they had some traction but there was A LOT of GREAT music last year and a lot of other new groups too. I personally think this is about their experience of experiencing some of that limelight but it being short lived. I think this is a declaration of what’s to come. XXL things. However… this MV is sooo chaotic 😂 I love the concept, I enjoyed their killpo performance video more. It’s officially like.. stuck in my head
what they're trying to say in the MV i think is that they're dreaming of becoming XXL (huge) and even becoming Rookie of the Year, they want to become a big group one day and extra extra famous but at the end they get a reality check because many people overlook them for "basic" I assume Big 4 groups? while they're trying something different and working extra hard to do so
I hope you stick to Young Posse reactions because I swear these girls deserve more eyes on them. Especially since they are heavily involved in writing their music and are more so going to be a hip hop based group. Macaroni Cheese and Young Posse Up (ft Verbal Jint, NSW Yoon and Token) next please 🥹
I think the entire concept is also inspired by XXL Magazine, particularly a freshman class issue, what the magazine is typically known for. The song and mv has a similar message: we are up and coming artists who want to make it big. Even the album cover is inspired by the magazine cover.
They are an amazing group! But the music videos show because they aren’t the ‘usual’ girl group, as they have a different style, that they are overlooked and ignored (as you see in the end).
this is totally unrelated but for some reason this is what I though babymon would sound like.lol Been waiting for this sound in KPOP to revive, Young Posse slayed this.
Noooooo the fact that you don't know young posseeeeeee😭😭😭😭😭 Coz when they debuted I got the recommendation and I was like why not hear it once and surprisingly liked (it was soooo catchy I was singing and dancing on it for almost a month) And I was like hold on it's actually good!! I know what a weird taste but still. And was like why didn't or why don't anyone talk bout them?? Why didn't anyone tell anyone about them ?? I checked the release date and it was only a week ago, and realized it was their debut song and I just went like " oh " and just kept saying " MàCaroni ChesEe Likée a MàCaroni ChEse "
its bcs of their group name lol maybe one of the reason why theyre being ignore and hated but yall could we just agree theyre so cool as hell i also ignore them during macaronni cheese era but nah theyre just that so diff
