Young Thug Attorney Confronts Judge On State 'Intimidating' Lil Woody

On Thursday afternoon in the Young Thug trial, defense attorney Brian Steel confronted Judge Glanville regarding the state allegedly intimidating witness Kenneth Copeland, also known as Lil Woody. Steel said, "This is like communist Russia," as he explained that he believed the state wasn't treating the witness fairly. Law&Crime’s Michel Bryant breaks down the chaos that’s been happening inside the Atlanta courthouse.

Young Thug faces nearly a dozen charges, including possession of drugs and weapons, participation in criminal street gang activity, and conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act. The rapper was arrested in May of 2022 along with 27 other alleged gang members. Many of those defendants have taken plea deals in the case.

You noticed that he changed his tone since he found him in contempt of court, and he was so loud and rude and end up getting slapped down by the appellate court. Now all of a sudden he’s trying to be respectful, but he still disrespectful. This judge should just retire.

Maybe I’m seeing this Wrong but Woody is testifying about Murders, Shootings, against other hardened criminals and gang members, Who is supposed to be protecting him, he is testifying for the state, When people testify against dangerous people they are offered Witnesses Protection by the agency that they are helping. Woody being in the presence of Sheriff deputies and other law enforcement by direction of the state seems normal to me

The judge has reached a point where he doesn't even try to disguise his bias anymore. The defense made no allegations that should have offended the court; he was complaining about alleged intimidation by the other side in this case (prosecution). But Glanville identifies himself so much as aligned with the prosecution that he interrupts and ARGUES with the defense attorney while he's still speaking (this judge simply cannot refrain from interrupting Steel at every turn), and the judge is openly advocating for the prosecution's POV! How in gods name does he avoid censure and discipline by the higher courts???
