Solid. Professional. That's what has gained her respect. Yes she's adorable and takes on crazy hard stuff like Rosanna etc but after she gets you thru the door you begin to realize she is an extraordinary person. From an extraordinary background with extraordinary parents. Either I am part of a brain washed cult of obessed believers ( more than likely) or she really is a remarkable musician (most definitely). Thank you for this reaction Wave!
@@patjcarey I think the pool of people that understand talent is not that large on YT. I've always noticed there are some thumbs down on her videos and never could understand the mental state of someone that would do that.
Unfortunately she doesn't ask anyone to subscribe. I love her talent, but I'm also in love with this precious girl ❣️, her personality and humor. Wave - I've got a request for something other than Yoyoka. Mohini Dey and Marco Minneman This is just mind blowing! It's their lockdown colab. She's one of the best bassists to ever live, a former child prodigy like Yoyoka!
@@glenkelley6799 Jealousy. Envy. Racism. Ignorance. Sour grapes...oh, that's jealousy. And yes, insanity. Literally, the only other drummers I can watch are Kanade and Senry. Can't listen to Sina. Can't watch Junna. Can't stand either what's her name, or the other one (the two gazillion-suscriber girls who don't have a quarter of YOYOKA's skill, personality, character, timing, strength, talent, and so on, despite magnetically smiling at the camera every third beat). But I ramble. Oh yeah...and definitely FEEL. No one's got it like YOYOKA.
Wow! I've never seen videos of Yoyoka so young! This must be the product of growing up in a musical family. It's always around and you naturally emulate your parents and siblings.
If you did deep enough, you can find vids of her "early days." Some performing on stage with her family when she's 4 and a few at home when she was knee high to a grasshopper 😉
Yoyoka Rocks, she doesn’t like practicing plus she listens to a song about 3 or 4 times then plays it. And she’s been playing crowds with her parents when she was 5 I believe
Yoyoka performing live at age 5: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Cpu8z0BqAE.html It's amazing at that age she had that level of understanding of musical structure and tempo.
@@WavePotter Thanks Wave, your videos are great, great comments,I think you're competing a little with Yoyoka and that's good.I wish you a lot of success and more great videos Alex
I love this. Such a happy song. I love Yoyoka videos- this and the Onyx gig video are my favorites. As always, Wave - your expertise really enhances my appreciation and understanding of Yoyoka’s immense ability. Thank you for your insight from a non-drummer.
Hi Wave! This will blow your mind!! Yoyoka drumming in a club with adults - and killing it - at AGE 5! "B'z Ultra Soul 5" Hello 5 years old with a bear on her shirt 🐻
Yea, that floor tom she does a drum lesson where she explains how to use the tom in place of the hi hat. She would say practice is very important and "please do that". So cute. You can see these lessons in her playing as she grows I am amazed when she does tom fills and yet keeps the beat on the snare.
Hi Wave. Have you considered making a Part 2 of your Yoyoka documentary? I hope so! Lot's of fresh material to work with. Seems like her life shifted into high gear after that awesome jam on her twelfth birthday.
Another great reaction Wave. So many people refer to this cover from Yoyoka and you can see why! She dances through this song so naturally. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2c1yaY27U7c.html this link is from another Japanese band, Unicorn. For the shear craziness of Yoyoka this is my favourite so if you ever get the chance please react to it. Very enjoyable, thank you Wave. Pat 🏴
I believe some of these so-called experts are mistaking years of experience for talent, and were actually giving her a jealous insult. Talent always beats practice and experience. ALWAYS. There are literally thousands of working/pro drummers who have tried and tried, but still can't do what she can already do on drums. If they could, there would have been more Led Zeppelin music. Think about it. Top 500 of anything is an insult, other than maybe farmers or doctors. Write down the names of just 25 Rock drummers who you think are Hall of Famers. That would be interesting. NOT PERSONAL FAVORITES. Just ranked. How many of them could teach drums? Very few.
There is 1 thing that cannot be taught. The ability to convey the feeling within ones self threw their instrument. Much like the greats, Yanni, Karen Briggs, Vanessa Mae to name a couple. Never thought it can be done with the drums but Yoyoka proved me wrong
