I got one for stainless exhaust pipe and it works really well, the only thing I recommend is to get a knockoff wp17 torch because its way slimmer and also a foot pedal
I owned 3 yeswelder and the last recent one I bought has the button to turn on while using Tig. Hands down, good as* machine. I tried the 120v miller Tig and I felt that the yeswelder is up there with the miller. But I do independently run a 20amp breaker for the 120v yeswelder.
Hopefully they get more soon because I’m so happy with this machine! I swapped the torch for a $12 torch and am using the foot pedal now, and it feels just as good as any machine I own.
@@HarleyDesignsInc there’s some on eBay but not as cheap as direct with your discount. May just get one there. I’d be interested in seeing which torch you went with.
Just got mine ordered. This will be my first TIG welder and the first time I have used one in over 30 years. Looking forward to more vids on this welder and seeing other projects you have planned.
Very cool. I’ve always been curious to learn how to rig welding for custom RC but was always put off by the expense of buying the equipment. This is at a much more affordable price point that I might finally jump in. I’m going to wait to see the series you are going to start to make sure I’m comfortable and confident enough that I can do it. Thanks for the continued educational content you provide.
I’ve got the 200 amp version that’s rebranded. They’re great welders. My brother got rid of his Lincoln mig he’s had for 25 years for a new yes welder mig this year. They make a great product.
Great Video. I like seeing the settings for smaller scale. I use a HF 205 and it does well. Not as inexpensive as this. Tig burns a lot of gas with pre flow and post flow. I have upgraded my bottle twice. I wish I would have just gone big in the beginning...
Interesting to watch . It’s faster to start than brazing with gas but I am not convinced it’s something I need just yet as I am still learning brazing. I am interested to watch the next build when you have had a chance to familiarise yourself with the new unit. Probably a bit unfair to judge to much on the first two joints? Out of curiosity in the next video can you give a comparison in cost between those rods and the silver brazing rods. Stay safe.
I went thru the link to see what the shipping to Canada would cost and to my surprise they are offering free shipping here as well it appears. with tax and conversion this welder is just over the $320 to Ontario Canada
Thank you for doing the video and getting us a discount on it. I was skeptical about yes welders but the price was so cheap It had me wondering but you showed me it’d work which one would you Recommend more this or the mid range tig
Please check out the TOOLIOM 135A Stick/Lift TIG Welder, it’s $100 and there was a RU-vidr that put it thru its paces and said it’s really good, just doesn’t have a foot pedal,
@@oriongamingtv1401 my first welder was a MIG, then a lift TIG. But for the small amount extra, you’ll save yourself money in tungsten and argon with the solenoid control. You’ll save the extra money in 1-2 chassis.
Do you braze all of the chassis for the RC cars? If so why not just TIG welding instead of brazing two different kind of fuses. I personally have a Primeweld Tig 225x w/Maxcool watercooler CK worldwide wp20 torch. I do a lot of different things with tig welding and like to challenge myself titanium was the most challenging thing to do making turbo tubes for people the patience needed is crucial.
Yes I have done the traditional TIG welding method with standard TIG filler many times. It's the only method I used up until 2018-19 I believe. But after I started TIG brazing instead, I have found absolutely zero reason to go back to that. If there was any benefit to using the standard filler instead of silicon bronze, then I'd go back. The strength of the joints is a non-issue and that's the only area where it could offer a better result.
should we get the twt 200DC on sale for $480 if starting out and have welded stick before for large projects? Wouldnt mind being able to run aluminum also. Thoughts on the twt 200DC? Thanks Josh!
Nice little welder. It's crazy how inexpensive it is. How many millions of dollars did you pay for that argon hehehe. Awesome video y'all have a badass day 🤘
Have you tried the foot pedal? I have the Yeswelder TIG-200P ACDC PRO and got a foot pedal from them a couple days ago and I'm very disappointed, the pedal is pretty much useless in low amps.
Yes, I'm running the foot pedal now. It has worked well for me in low amperage (35amp max on the pedal). Comparing to my more expensive welder with pedal, it seems very similar. May you have a defective pedal.
That’s not an issue with silicon bronze. This material bonds properly and is also used when you’re trying to attach two different materials together such as welding stainless to carbon steel, or steel to cast iron.
You can change the torch. I went to a foot pedal and new torch head. I believe it does have lift start but not sure why you’d want to use that over HF.
@@HarleyDesignsInchabit probably. That’s how I always tig welded I was a boilermaker before my motorcycle accident and scrach arc was how we did it . I Still have some of my old work tools including my last torch and was hoping I could use all my old stuff. So I can plug in my old setup to this welding machine? It looks like it would be perfect for this smaller type of welding.
@@HarleyDesignsInchey you was talking about Disney Oklahoma, how did you like it? Did you go for the rock crawling or rc crawling ? I stay right around the corner in Langley
@@jonlaw3642 as long as your old torch is the same thread size it would work, but if you were doing boiler work, I bet it’s larger than this. I think you’d love HF start though. It will keep your tungsten sharp and uncontaminated so much longer.
