If you're in a situation with a stomach virus and really should be in hospital but there's no space, that's a big hardship on you and your family. Buy disposable adult diapers - two packs sized to fit every family member. When you're really sick, you can be going through ALL of your sheets and ALL of your underwear in a short time. Another nice thing to have would be a good quantity of activated charcoal; this can greatly lessen the severity of a stomach infection or poisoning.

@amymartin7508

This is true. Mental preparedness is everyday life. For example, I will bend over backward for my own dog and did the other day. Lol. Seriously, old girl got stuck chasing a rat and had to go in tight, confined spaces and force her up and out. Other dog just alerted, and there I stood typing the first 3 lines with nothing. Don't know what happened, he got upset about something.we live in an area where we get up with a dog bark, even in a deep sleep. Scary, huh? Can you reach for what you need in a deep sleep? Those are my thoughts. A nation of light sleepers; where is this going?🤣 code talk as always. 3 eggs. Confuse ia.. yeah, I am down with that.

I got a dollar tree headlight, mainly to use while working outside in the dark, and let me tell you, its actually pretty bright for only being $1.25. I blinded my fiance several times with it. It comes with three modes, bright, dim, and flashing. It takes two aaa batteries. Its not waterproof or fancy, but it works pretty well if your on a serious budget. If anyone wants one for cheap, id say get it. Really not bad. Lights up my entire room at night with all the lights out.

I lived in Orange County, CA 1998-2010. There were a few scenarios where I thought about bugging out. Los Angeles Metro population is over 11 million. All food is transported in. Surrounding hills and mountains don't have enough wildlife to feed 11 million people. Egress routes to the North, East and South would quickly be clogged. San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) has its own evacuation plan and routes. Best choice was to build and maintain a pantry and stay in for a week.

For sanitation, for space and smell considerations you want to separate #1 and #2. You can put #2 in your bucket, layer it with sawdust. and compost it if you're onto that. For #1 if you can't bucket flush your toilet to get rid of it ( less frequent flushing required than with #2) you can fill old detergent bottles, empty water bottles etc. Females could use a funnel to keep it neat if you can't get outside.

Be mindful of chemical leaching from the plastic! It will slowly degrade over time and into your water. I suggest using alternative means such as glass if you’re able to. If this ends up as a last resort, store them in cool, dark places out of the sun which will break down the material faster.

Easiest thing to do now if you have an air conditioner: buy a new, clean trash can and start collecting your condensate water. In about a week, I had 32 gallons that was clean enough to drink, but more likely would be used for cleaning, bathing, and irrigation. You can install a spigot at the bottom or keep it simple and put a hand siphon pump in the top.

Water from air conditioner IS NOT safe to drink! I’m a Hvac technician for almost 30 years. It has biological contamination in it! From your body as well as mold spores. Treat it and filter it before you do something like this. Also remember that when you have your unit services, remember that anti algae compounds and coil cleaning chemicals are used. Poison for humans and pets
@AmbuBadger
@AmbuBadger Год назад
@@dees1378 Good to know. I've only used it to water plants so far, and it would be out through a filter if needed, but now I'll have to see if filtering will be enough to take of that coil cleaner you mentioned!

It's my #1 plan. Bugging out will be a very last option. Of course, it depends on where one lives. People in fire, flood & mega storm prone areas should always have a bug out plan

Ready made MRE’s: Home made bread 🍞 for sandwiches if the store bread is limited or sold out crackers, tuna/tuna salad/salmon/chicken/chicken salad in foil packets, small size peanut butter in foil, jelly in those small restaurants size containers, oodles and noodles (Amazon has packets of 48 packs in a box) small foil tube of coffee ☕️ or Gatorade or tea (travel sizes) you can find them in boxes in groceries stores in the water section Foil packet of water, or bottled water but the bottles adds weight Take one foil packet of meat/fruit in jello/peanut butter in foil packets/jelly in small sizes/oodles & noodles/bread to make sandwiches (or Taylor make your own MRE’S) Add one of everything and put in the small paper bag, for your BOB, camping ⛺️ supplies, survival supplies, then add the items to an emergency hidden pantry in boxes, shelves, etc. The packets are light and multiple paper bags will fit in BOB, backpacks, and everything in between, I made my packs from this list, and they are wonderful!

I heard back in the day people would burn down there old home when they moved just to get the nails. Apparently nails are time consuming to make and become very valuable when you can't just go to your local hardware store or order them.

From what I understand if it is a state of emergency a ham radio can be used by someone without a license. Meaning that you can broadcast during an emergency

I have a home security system. 2 dogs that love the family and hate trespassers and will act and some pew pews if they somehow get by the dogs. Where I live in a very small city the people that walk by my house, they cross the road first just encase the dogs are outside. You forgot a short wave radio. They are cheap and come in handy.

Bugging in is what everyone does, it is called living in a house! "Bugging in" is only for short term events, you will need to leave your house and gather supplies ala Selco. Selco went out at night but that was to avoid snipers.

Depends on where you live & what your prep level is. My family lives off-grid in Montana. We have hand pumps on our wells, a years worth of stored food for all 10 of us (including the kids & grandkids who live in town), about 50 cords of firewood, livestock on the hoof, chickens & gardens. Plus plenty of ability to defend our easily defensible 160 acres. I'm not going out for supplies until the zombies (the unprepared, the desperate, the predators) are all dead in the chaos.

IMO, the best supplement with antibiotic effect is VitaminC… Pure ascorbic acid… powder is fine. That and a high quality magnesium are critical for our health…
