Aww you didn’t watch the video. I don’t like explaining my art, but people draw up a lot of conclusions and if you’re hearing of this from them, I can definitely see why you feel the way you do. I’m not falsely claiming she’s a service animal, some random customer intervened and said a bunch of stuff about disability laws, but I was trying to answer the manager’s questions and just show the manager the documentation I have; the same as I would show to schools, nursing homes and hospitals, proving she is in fact a service animal. Just like a hospital would have us in as a therapy animal, that is a service provided and these animals are referred to as a type of service animal. When ‘service animal’ is a term referring to its own type of service animal, referring specifically to one that aids it’s owner in a specific disability, that’s when things get confusing because now it’s a game of semantics. I’m not trying to play into the problem or deceive anyone, in fact I’m being more than up front an honest on my adventures, actually more than you might imagine. The whole thing about ‘service animals’ is a mess and it frustrates me to see that the real problem here is that there is no laws requiring physical documentation or certification for a ‘certified’ disability service animal. The problem is actually in untrained dog owners, as these are actual false service animal claims. This can easily be solved for disabled people with service animals if there were any documents, identification or certification to be able to show in person. As far as acceptable service animals, it is up to the businesses themselves to make exceptions, as it’s private property and they can make their decisions, like with my ability to have her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese for example, was not achieved from me walking in the front door falsely claiming full rights to do so because of ADA and Hippa laws as a disabled person with a service animal, it was thru a conversation with corporate, who approved and was happy to have us, similar to how a conversation would go with a hospital. I’d love to show us at a hospital or at the homeless shelters for thanksgiving and Christmas, but I’ve always done those without cameras because to film people in these positions is very insensitive and to refuse to do them unless it’s being filmed is in itself another kind of icky. I digress, look, I’m not just some guy with a random duck, I have spent years of my life solely devoted to training this one duck to a level that no one seems to have believed possible. I don’t have a leash for wrinkle because she doesn’t need one; I was banned for having wrinkle walk perfectly beside me on our way out to prove she didn’t need a leash, because the owner didn’t believe she was trained enough to not fly out the confines of her stroller. Buccees calling the cops and banning me had nothing to do with whether or not wrinkle is a ‘service animal’ at all and I stand by my saying she is a highly trained duck that undoubtedly provides an invaluable free service to everyone, every day, everywhere she goes.
