I spoke to a work colleague once who exploded with anger when I showed empathy for the poor. She said if a poor woman wants to, she will just go out and spend £150 pounds on a pair of shoes whatever...
I had to work with a summer temp kid from uni who didn't want to follow procedures or safety rules in our production lab because when she leaves uni she'll go "straight into management".
That . was. absolutely. gold!!!!!!!! Biting social commentary. Fookin nailed it you did mate! Thank you for the chuckle and laugh. Best Regards/Best Wishes!
Very well observed. The main characteristic I notice is the complete lack of imagination for other people’s circumstances, and the assumption that one’s position is the baseline. I feel both amused and a little depressed - so, you hit the spot 100% 😊
Oh god I have a friend who has been like this before (she went to private school, I didn't) and I had to deal with people like this in uni too... this is bringing back so many memories 😭
We have all met this person. Watching the mental gymnastics they go through while trying to say they were no better off than anyone else is utterly delicious.
