Basically as he said they just make up rules on the spot and if you don’t comply you get arrested and then you just have to trust the legal system to help you.

Agreed, The police don't have the numbers here to behave like that and Australians are not scared of guns. The Vic police prefer the 3am visit in large numbers with dogs and some evidence to plant.
