Does he acknowledge his subtitles at some point I'm this video? Can you link it? I left a comment to him a while back saying how the fake subtitles he uses for foreigners were funny the first couple times , but they eventually take away from the video and just become annoying that I can't follow the conversation.
He is genuine and not afraid to be himself. Something more people should strive for. You can also tell he was built for this travel-lifestyle, he strikes me as a guy that could do this sort of thing for decades
I needed to hear this. I just recently got into making content and looking at the analytics is depressing which leads people to pander to their audience and release lower quality work, I was really considering following trends that didn’t align with the work I wanted to make. But hearing this make me feel better and inspired to make some undeniably good shit
Connor, you are fast becoming one of my favourite youtubers, and I enjoy these Pod-casts just as much, if not more than your regular videos, the pure honest truth without all the fake bs is incredibly refreshing and insightful and inspiring to me, as I have also had similar ideas for content creation and you are just solidifying them even more, so thanks bro! I look forward to meeting you somewhere on your/my travels in the next few years.
Dude you’re so right. Keep it up. My gf and I love watching the videos. We love how authentic everything is in comparison to other channels. And unrelated but you are also responsible for us saying “ripping cigs” way too much
Nah i really enjoy ur podcasts, keep them up, im binging all ur videos AND RUNNING OUT OF STUFF TO WATCH!!!!!. RU-vid was real dry till you pulled up🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I show everyone I know your vids they’re phenomenal, I feel like they’re an amazing view into what a normal person would experience traveling the world, I look forward to all your posts.
Video Idea? Curious if you would ever do a video on what you packed for your backpacking trip when you first started the RU-vid channel? It'd be cool to see what you used everyday and what items you brought that you never used. (I'm planning for something similar rn)
You're not wrong, quality should be the top priority. But remember that people gotta eat man. Some are happy just making low-to-mid tier content if it pays the bills. At the end of the day, its also about survival, and if it works, it works. You can definitley make the quality over quantity model work, just make sure you're smart with your money, or you're likely to be hurting between uploads or breaks etc.. Keep up the good work man. The channels are great and we look forward to more adventures and shenaningans.
I totally agree about the quality of what you post on RU-vid. But polished quality is not what I want to see, some have lots of cool titles and effects. And the videos are so overproduced that it becomes boring to watch. For me it is the story, but most of all the person and personality.
Unorganized babbling, but I watched the whole thing and will continue to watch your channels. The genuine realness and authenticity keep me coming back. Do not change bud. The cut to one of MY favorite Superbad quotes was clutch. Why are you sitting by yourself? Who are you Steven Glansburg?
as a fellow constant traveler that tried youtube for like a month and just decided to enjoy the travels instead. I love the videos, keep em up and please don't stop the subtitles
I do want to produce better content for my specific niche, but I at the same time I didn't even know how to talk to the camera and you have to start somewhere. Hopefully I'll get better at it.
that’s why your a legend everytime you post it’s a good quality video and worth watching and I know before seeing it that it will be just because all your videos are like that legend
Good to hear from you, someone's got to travel! Just watching Kevin Smith, the director, at his theater in Jersey talking film with the director and actor of the flick, Krazy House. Very supportive of indie film. Been on PR with new movie 'The 4:30 Movie'. He recently mentioned sometimes 'good enough is good enough' though his quality and vision I think is up-there. Recently, had a long talk with Theo Vonn on Theo's pod. Vonn and David Spade want to put together a film; and Kevin gave advice to the smaller indie person. Has to be someone out there with a way to rigg up a light weight ballast for your camera. Prob means it's time to hook up with filmmakers. All I could come up with was rocks and string. Wind plays well, so you want it at times. Good luck with the new plan. You and your gal have an opportunity to share experiences that could enrichen (I know that's a made-up word) the lives of others who don't get around 2 much. I know I enjoyed many of your vids, they really showed what it was to experience places I could only imagine in that 'real way' of yours. Just keep diplomacy to the forefront. And, thanks for the tip on the Rick book.
You have the small brained pod and small brained American channels. Is there another channel? Enjoy your content so just want to make sure I’m subscribed to it all. Thanks!
Mate I've been traveling over 4 months so far and making vlogs and I'm getting hate because I say how it really is 😂 I don't know...but like you said those RU-vidrs faking it and sugar coating everything 😂
Hey bud, why not join up with EricSurf6, he’s also a RU-vidr in Japan, he does a lot of food vending machine videos I think you guys can relate somewhat. Maybe do a podcast with him and his family. Love you man, keep up your awesome videos.
I don't know about the economics of doing a RU-vid channel but as a viewer I don't bother watching old videos from channels that produce daily videos whereas I do watch old videos from this channel because they're great and timeless. I even watch some of them twice, the first time by myself and then again to show a friend. So you'd think that quality over quantity rewards over a longer period and is also more fun and less stressful. Unless of course you live paycheck to paycheck, in which case you do what you gotta do.
I never disparage the Earth but the wind does suck especially when I don't got a car & ride a bicycle for transportation. And what sucks worse than wind is cars !!
Love both your channels Conner. Don’t forget Harald Balder…he is definitely a no sell out travel blogger. Keep doing what you are doing because we like real and raw…
When you say Asian is really safe, I’d only agree about East Asia. Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan are the safest. South East Asia can be ok, but there can still be some dodgy shit. Singapore being the safest country in SE Asia. Central Asia and Middle East isn’t even considered Asia to the East Asians. There’s a Chinese novel called Journey to the West and it’s about going to India lol
Reminds me of this RU-vidr who used to be my favorite (Outdoor Chef Life). He made QUALITY fishing and cooking videos years ago, but after the pandemic who started selling out and focusing more on gaining views and sponsorships. It felt very disingenuous and felt turned off by it. It’s a shame what RU-vid does to people and how money ruins the best things in life.
Coming from a place of love, it’s hard to push the point of only releasing quality, in a slow tediously long video of Crap. Grid & get hungry. You’re not Quentin Tarantino… Quentin works his Ars off between films. Grind & Stay hungry. Rooting for ya but you’re not about BS. So this is the harsh truth. GL 🙏🏻
Conner !! Here’s my update since your previous video about my travel. I’m just over 1 month on the road right now in Peru. 2 weeks in the Amazon, 1 week in the north coast of Peru for a beach getaway, 1 week in Lima / southern desert. Now I’m in Cusco. I did Machu Picchu, and I’m heading to Lake Titicaca next. My trip ends Oct 10 and then I begin my career in Chicago. I don’t want to wish away the rest of this trip but Japan will be the next international travel I do. Once I start working I’ll have money to join your patron. #KeepAmericanBrainsSmall
Hey, if you do decide to go through Afghanistan for whatever reason, you could try contacting Lord Miles. He's pretty tight with the Taliban. He may be able to make things easier for you as you go through. Just a thought.
indeed... brazil and colombia are hugely filled with 2 dudes on motorcycle taking purses and phones (now they are even imported into new york city literally)
