Unfortunately very true… One actual tip I saw somewhere is to, at least for a while, avoid using the new PS cosmetics. They will signify that you are new and draw attention from greedy crews.
Just take your time. Make sure you read everything that they're showing you. There's warnings about most of these things and if you see your ship marked on your own map in any way other than just seeing the boat, everyone else on the map can see You to
Remember to have fun embrace getting sunk it is going to happen and don't ever ever ever ever ever ever ever trust a pirate.extra tip, always say gg back ( very important ).
is there a way to run away if a crew of three decides not to sink you, but just spawn camp for 20 min? asking as a first time solo player, my first two hours today were rough and i still have no money lmao
As somebody who has been on these Seas for many years, day one player over 250 days played the most important thing. Don't give up everybody sinks. Everybody loses the better. You get the less it'll happen to you, but you'll never get to a point where it doesn't happen at all anymore and the only way to get better at PVP is to engage in PvP. I recommend doing it when you have nothing to lose so you don't get mad when you lose it
@@alchemistil7256 It happens sometimes you get unlucky and you just happen to be walking around in a busy neighborhood. Full of people waiting for someone just like you When that happens I just say f*** it new server And the first thing you do on any new server is check your map to see if there's any other ships running around. The biggest threats are marked on the map with reaper flags
Quick tip for new folks when attempting a Treasury/Shrine. When you're down under the water, go to the menu, and scuttle your ship. Your ship will sink and pop up randomly at a nearby island. This way nobody will even know you're in the Treasury/Shrine. Then, simply finish the task, load the treasure into the mermaid, take the mermaid back to your ship, head back over to the Treasury/Shrine to collect the loot from the mermaid and Boom. No risk of people sneaking onto your ship and less risk of people seeing you're attempting the Treasury and waiting around to intercept you. Good luck out there Mateys 🤘🏻
Oh man this would have saved me so much trouble the other day. There was a brig waiting for me when I finished a shrine, and after they sank me they waited in the area for close to two hours and came after me whenever I came back. I ended up having to find a rowboat and row it through a storm. Got my loot in the end though!
I usually hide my ship behind a nearby rock or island and row over, but this method would work as well! Just remember you'll lose all of your supplies and anything on your ship
There's no need to scuttle your ship. You leave your ship sitting right there. If no one messes with it good. If they sink it then you know somebody was there. As long as the loot is in the Statue, nobody can get it. It cannot be stolen. In fact, that loot will stay in that statue for 2 hours. After that it disappears
Eventually, if you get good at doing them, they'll take you about 10-15 minutes to complete. If you see a ship on the horizon, they will also see you. If you don't see any ships, by the time one appears in your horizon and comes to you, you'll most likely have the shrine/treasury completed. Don't take more than 15 minutes though. Also check for reapers on the map. You can grab all your best ressources, put them in a storage crate and swim down with it. They can also be put inside mermaid statues.
One other suggestion, AShinyRay (another RU-vid channel) made a excellent video covering the entire game’s lore from before the sea of thieves existed, up until season 9
Game is so much nicer for a new player atm . I remember the struggle to get pirate legend without sovereigns and having all these things to do as a new pirate is amazing . PS5 players welcome in and remember .....Never trust a pirate
Thanks for this. Just started playing this game on PS5 and freaking love it, even though I'm a few days in there were some extremely helpful hints on this. Also, been watching you on Twitch while I work the last 2 weeks you are freaking hilarious man! Keep it up and thanks!
"So im gonna give you a guide to get started, first you need quarter of a million though' this is literally sot version of "i started off with a small loan of a million dollars' dawg my most successful voyage took almost 2 hours and netted me 26k
Been playing a bit on PS5 but all the Xbox players are just trolling and hurling abuse at any PS player they see. Typical silly little xbox fanboy nonsense. I played on PC for ages without issue but as soon as they see a PS player, everyone gets their little panties in a twist. Sad AF! Thisis why I ditched Xbox a while ago. The community sucks!
Oh yeah make sure to put up the reapers mark flag on your ship, so people can find you to alliance edit: for anyone who thinks you should take this seriously, this is a joke
Plus it’s the coolest flag in the game it’s just like the game logo best free flag, the best gear in this game is free I mean the only thing you should really buy is the ocean crawler outfit and you’re good
And to add to this, be sure to put any fireworks on your person into your canons to let people know you're friendly. If someone drops by, let them off to know you mean no harm.
Really good video ! I’m going to be a new player on ps5, first goal is a captain ship! What if I don’t play solo!? Or what if my captains ship gets sunk, gotta farm again ?
Sounds easier said then done, especially for new players. I'm relatively new and switch back and forth between high and safer seas, getting experience vs PVE expeditions first, before adding PVP into the mix, which I often try to avoid as a solo slooper. That being said, it is a lot of fun to have no treasure aboard your ship and to try your luck at PVP, learning some hard lessons along the way, Arrrr!
@@HeyhoBrando If you do hourglass PvP (very difficult for new players) and turn in a win streak, you get some gold for that, but otherwise, the only way you get stuff from sinking players is stealing the treasure they have on board. No treasure is yours until you turn it in, so beware of trusting other ships! A lot of experienced players will be helpful towards new players, but not all, so expect hostility first and keep yourself safe out there. :)
Is there a follow up guide to this or Maybe a link to another video he talks about the importance about getting captain ship and then doesn’t do a follow up video of what to do with it or what’s next?
More of an intermediate player since I’m still getting a hang of this game. However I didn’t know there was a CAPTAIN thing where you can sell all your loot in one go rather it being a pain in the ass selling stuff one by one.
Yo man I have been having issues lately playing sea of thieves , I have an Ryzen 7 8 core processor and a GeForce rtx 4060 ti and whenever my pc reached 60 C in any game sea of thieves too it just crashes out of the game and closes the tab, and I don’t know what to do cause I spent 1 grand on my pc
It sucks cuz I want to play the game, but I'm sick of spending 2 to 3 hours getting loot just for someone else to take it and reap the rewards. I get it's a pirate game but come on I'm not unemployed and have a real life
I’m playing for the first time on PS5 and it’s kind of surprising how they just throw you in. Wish there was a bit of a more robust tutorial in the game, but this video was very helpful
@ra1nman214 I think with computer games your good or bad it don't matter on time if you can aim on games you can if you can't then I find people don't really get better
In these specific spots there are air bubbles that are coming up so that you don't run out of oxygen on your way down or in most of the immediate area around the treasury 😊
:30 I was like I don’t know what that tent thing is and was gonna leave the video but nah bro was like lemmie troll you a little bit😂 and teach you what the tent is
I am not that new but this just happened to me. I was doing a quest and this other ship was there he said he was friendly so I trusted him( bad idea) we finished the quests and they had put gunpowder on mi ship without me knowing so they blew me up and said GG welcome to sea of thieves… I was lowkey kinda mad 😭 but I guess shit happens
Thank you so much for taking time to make this guide. I played last on xbox about 6 years ago before fire bombs/mast damage etc existed so this is like a brand new game to me on Ps5. I will never be very good but enjoy it at best in my own way. Subscribed 😊
i swear i do a fort this time with a guide and i still mess up i had all my loot in place my ship infront of the gate and as i swim towards my ship to leave it just starts sinking for no reason other than the game maybe thought it was to close to shore and sunk 2nd time iv been strandded at a fort with no way home
I think I played at launch because I had some cosmetic stuff like the day 1 patch and some trader ranks already but yesterday I played again with 0 memory of what to even do in the game. Some dutch guy took pity on me, he rolled up on me after I anchored at an island I was planning to run around aimlessly on and just laughed when I said please don't rob me I have nothing. He gave me a good idea of how to get started and gave me some tips like don't anchor and how to look at the map from the top deck and how to do voyages and then fired himself off into the sunset from my cannon. A while later I was coming up on an outpost to sell some stuff and another sloop with a bunch of cosmetics started popping off shots at me with weird cannonballs. I have no idea how I pulled it off but I kept doing anchor turns so he couldn't get good shots off and somehow manoeuvred so he was on my side but his back facing me. The dutch guy had put a bunch of crates on my deck full of cannonballs and I just peppered his ship full of holes and sank it! Guy had a bunch of skulls and ashen chests on board which I yoinked and sold. My morale was through the roof after and I played all day. Ended up sinking one more sloop and never getting sunk once. Pretty good day tbh.
You know what i love that all these people are trolling I'm new to sea of thieves currently just questioning myself what am i doing with my life I'm glad these guys trolled me i love y'all frfr
I watched 4 videos for starting solo sot, before this one. I've wasted 45 minutes of my life that I can never get back. I wish I would have found this one first.
Was on thr fence about playing as it seems like the knowledge barrier for entry is super dense now, but this video has me convinced to download it and give it a try. I'll check out your other stuff as well. Thanks.
14:49 ''The most fun part of the game'' An new solo player on a sloop booting up the game for their first time getting attacked by a full Galleon with skilled player:
I did a treasury, got to the treasure, started sending up my loot and the game lost network. It was on PS5, so could be bugs in the pre-release version. Anyway, it was annoying to get sent back to my ship with no loot. Waste of about an hour of playtime.
Man I used to play sea of thieves alot on pc, quit playing over the years but recently purchased on ps5, love that I can continue where I left off , I’m not to far off from buying a captained ship. Would be nice if their was a video for people who aren’t really knew but just need the old rust off and catch up !
Also, there are some extra nice players that may be willing to help you sell your treasure if you need it! Don't hesitate to ask people to help you sell any treasures you dont wanna carry 😊😊
My first day was yesterday on the beta and I solo killed the fire man the one that has the skull where you can breath fire and it drops a captains chest and ashen chests and I only died once I think it’s impressive for a noob
