@@billydeeuk What about what, it has Philip hinting about Lord Porchester? We all have heard the rumors that were around in 1960. I am not so sure they had an understanding (open marriage) or if she may have cheated on him, but after the way he openly disrespected her then I suspect he deserved it. Whether any of it is true or not, we know he turned into a real cad after her father died. He resented playing second fiddle to "the queen."

@@WynnWynn-gl3fk The Head of the Church of England would not have divorced their spouse. Not in those days. And certainly not Elizabeth - her father was put on the throne because of the scandal of one divorce (Wallis Simpson divorcing and wanting to marry King Edward) and she had also denied her sister permission to marry the person she loved as he was a divorcee. In later years, she was also known to be saddened her childrens’ divorces and for a long time refused to be seen publicly with Camilla or grant Charles permission to marry her. Elizabeth was a committed Christian and took her role as Defender Of The Faith very seriously. In the period that this episode is portraying, divorce was also still a social taboo

it wasnt that hard. Every message ended in "Hail Hitler" Once they realised that, they cracked the code. They just never revealed they broke it for ages because, if they revealed too soon, the nazi's would change the code. So the British had to keep mum on the fact, and only act when the time was right, even if that meant tens of thousands died in bombing runs.

There is a lot of money involved. Not only with horses; nut also for pureblood livestock! However the "cover" fees are highest for horses in this era. A couple of hundred years ago stud fees for specialized dairy and beef cows were astronomical -- People realized that animals that could produce more and better meat or milk could make a suppler rich since people in cities could not keep dairy or beef cattle like the small farmers used to do.

In this episode they were talking about selling the horse to compete in the American market in some American tournament, while it was still young and in demand. It could be because they are stuck with it. In British law, all bills that affect the King/Queen, before they are presented to Parliament, must be submitted to the King/Queen, who can request changes. Any bill that abolishes the monarchy is likely to be blocked by the reigning king or queen. Any bill that passes Parliament is not law until the King/Queen signs his/her assent.

Philip was arguably the most important casting of the show. Claire Foy was always going to get the most screen time as Elizabeth, but it was essential to find someone who could make Philip charismatic and memorable for each scene he was in, particularly since his part was significantly less screen time and his character needed to be equally charming, loathsome and sympathetic. Matt Smith hit it out of the park.

I don't understand why they just didn't have the first season cast act out the entire series, instead of hiring other actors of different ages.
