So pleased the Camera Obscura is still there and in use. That was a favourite place to visit on holiday in the 1960s. We useful to walk along the Marine Drive to Port Soderick for a well-earned cuppa at the other end.
Your stunning filming is very good Your information is spot on I'm born and bread in Douglas and your advice to people who have never been is great helping people is a buzz I'm going through all your stuff don't forget the wolabys them things that look like kangaroos you have to come as part of your bucket list 3 feet away from a bike doing 200mls +you can feel the draft ADRENALINE
Nice vid. Great to have this information to keep one's self busy outside of the bike racing or whatever your visit entails. You won't have a minute if you visit half of the attractions mentioned, and that's just Douglas! Keep up the good work, the island deserves to be showcased for all that it offers.
Hi Frank, Great video as always, and some great recommendations from you both for food and drink. Think you got the whole of Douglas covered there, really good editing. I'll see you over TT week for some ales, I'll be in touch later mate
Hi! I hope to come there in about two months, and I would love to meet you. I have learned a lot of information about the island from you. Thank you very much.
Very informative video! I see the Manx government has started an efficiency review of the heritage rail, do you think they will kill some or all of it by the time I visit the Isle of Man in summer 2024?
Hi thanks for the great video and info, I'm going to IOM next week on my ebike, can you please tell me how the bike crime is ? If my bike should be realitivly safe when locked outdoors? Thanks again👍
What do recommend for ppl looking for rentals that allow pets? We are planning to move to the Isle in the fall and have two small dogs. Any tips would be appreciated!! Love your videos.
The misspellings on the RU-vid chapter headings are a crack-up. Onken Head is funny enough, as is the Manx Museum coming up as the Monks Museum, but the best one is Villa Marina spelled as Villain Arena. Mind you, given that they did have pro wrestling there in my youth it may be an appropriate name.
The name of the country is The Isle of Man. Hence when referring to the country we say ‘ in ‘ the Isle of Man , not ‘on ‘ the Isle of Man. So for example we don’t say ‘on’ America.
I’m coming to visit in February but don’t have a car. Can I walk up to Douglas head and Marine Drive easily enough from Douglas, or is there a bus? And is there no trains on the island in winter?
Douglas is not a city in the original sense of the word. Peel is the only city because it has the only cathedral in the Isle of Man and is known as the Sunset City because it is on the west coast and the sunsets are spectacular.
