Your Guide to Shambhala Festival: Camping Tips, Outfit Ideas, Stage Breakdown & More! 

ANKORS is the harm reduction substance testing team! “The sanctuary” is the camp for women and NB to camp if they choose. Shambhala when the fest isn’t on is A WORKING FARM!! Make sure you keep it clean!! Meta camping is included with your ticket! Same with free parking. There’s only GA tickets so no VIP! Sunshine you can camp with your car, starlight you’re in a camperized vehicle so an RV (no power)or a vehicle with a bed built in(ex: mini van where you can put seats down and doesn’t include having a mattress in the back of your car), you can also buy a pass (there’s now a wait list) for a powered RV spot! Then you get into all the Shambhalodging! If you’re not doing car camping you need a wagon and a durable one. They do offer water to buy as well as free water fill up stations and bags of ice were CAD$6 last year. Also everything is in CAD for cash. You need cash if you’re doing early entry or car camping The artists that come in for the BASScamp art gallery are absolutely amazing!! My fav from last year was Brain Nori he paints AR paintings he can be found on insta at @brain.nori.art ! You’ll find food vendors and shops in downtown Shambhala, also while you’re walking along downtown they have a sprinkler system set up at about 5-6ft spraying as you walk through during the day!! The river is awesome!! If you want to wash yourself with body wash, shampoo and conditioner please just buy the shower, even biodegradable stuff can be harmful to the fish in the water! And remember that this is a working farm for the rest of the year! There’s the yoga garden as well that holds yoga, Acro yoga, breath work circles Thursday - Sunday! Also when you go to the river or Shambhala in general, you’re going to see people completely naked especially at the river, and that’s allowed, it’s not weird and it’s no different than if I just wanted to wear pasties and bikini bottoms! At Shambhala you’re allowed to wear what you want as long as you’re comfortable! This is my favourite “Theyre not porta potties there porta PARTIES!!” The bathrooms at Shambhala are honestly so cool, some have lights in them and they’re cleaned daily!! Never once ran into an issue with no tp, dirty toilet etc! And there’s always some crew around if something is happening!! Also for any ravers who need sober supports you can camp at camp synergy who works alongside the harm reduction team!!! At camp synergy you’re around other ravers who are sober! And if you don’t feel like camping there for the whole fest you’re still more than welcome to go visit! They offer a safe space, a community for sober ravers, peer based recovery support and daily meetings! And they also offer the accessibility zone camping for persons with disabilities and is located near downtown Shambhala! It’s super hot during the day and it’s super cold at night!! And it can get windy!! Also because it’s a working farm, you want to make sure you’re wearing a mask/face covering or getting your sinuses cleaned at the doc afterwards because the dust is not just dust!!! Meet your neighbours!! You’ll feel safer you’ll meet amazing people and new friends!! Also this really helped the first night in the dark, send yourself a pin while you’re standing in your campsite, if your knackered, or just tired and having an issue finding your site that was a life saver for me!! And you’re able to stay till Tuesday to make sure you’re sober and properly rested for when you leave!! Cant wait to be back on the farm!! Happy shambs!!

The absence of alcohol there, sounds so good an even too good to be true.

I just got back from my first Shambhala!! It was a fantastic festival and it was so nice to have a change-up. There were some pros and cons from what I saw, but we had a very positive experience. We flew into Spokane and stayed in Shambalodging and totally recommend it. The drive there was absolutely stunning and super easy. Just had to be careful about crossing the border. Some of the border crossings aren't open 24/7. We had expedited entrance with the Shambhaloding and that was so nice, we only had to wait about 3 hours in line, while it was reported that people waited 12 hours+ to get in. The major thing I noticed was the difference in the crowd’s attitude, there were very few “excuse me” or “sorry” as people pushed past us. At first, I thought it was a fluke but people weren’t as polite as east coast raves, never rude just weren’t as polite, maybe it was the younger crowd that didn't understand PLURR yet. The other thing I noticed was that weren’t that many Kandi kids or exchanging of kandi in the crowd. Coming from Electric Forest the vibes were different but still enjoyable. It was kind of “you find the farm, and the forest finds you”. Having the testing tent was a game changer, I wish more festivals would have this service. The guy who help us was so informative and helped to make sure we were talking our stuff safely. We're definitely planning on coming back to the farm but maybe give it a year. I could go on and on about this festival and I really hope you get to go!!!

It will be super hot in the daytime and literally freezing cold at night. No joke. Trust me. Plan accordingly. (just subscribed)

Shambhala is the best! It is my favourite place i have ever been!!! I love how it is alcohol-free!

My plan is also to go in 2024! 🤩 The electronic music festival scene in western Canada is awesome. I went to Wicked Woods last year which was truly magical. Since moving across the country I haven’t found any festivals like Shambhala, Wicked Woods & Bass Coast etc. I think I will go to Ile Soniq here in Montreal but it’s not the same as going to a camping festival.

I’m mainly a RollingLoud festival type of person but man I want to go to shambhala ! Most of friends are more in to HipHop as am I but so it’s kinda hard to go to something different when you don’t have anyone to go with 😢

Hey, thanks for the interesting video. I'm a metalhead-, but also a psychonaut, so I also feel a great calling to go there at least once. Ppl there seem so interesting, fun and free, based on some videos. I'm a psychonaut from Belgium, who still needs to find his people (0 friends / partners). The thing is, I have autism, am pretty introvert, I don't 'really' travel, and I'm definitely anxious for the trip + the festival itself. Are there any organizations or groups that could help (or have some tips) for ppl like me?
