Seborrheic dermatitis is something we don't talk about enough so I'm glad you did this video. I currently only use the sulphur 8 mini cream, head and shoulders and As I am itchy and dry care line because these are the only three brands that seem to cater to people with seb derm. Thanks.
💙💙💙 The only time I’ve had scalp issues was when I had a relaxer. My scalp was dry, itchy and flaky. As soon as I went back to my natural hair, all my scalp issues went away. When I was relaxed, I used Sulphur 8 and it helped my scalp a lot. Now, my scalp does best when it’s kept clean. I might oil my scalp on wash day, but I find that regularly massaging my scalp helps my natural sebum production. Oils work best for me used as a hot oil treatment before shampooing. That way I get the benefits of oil without anything added to my scalp.
I never struggled with scalp issues growing up 😌, but in the last two yrs I've been experiencing itching and excess sebum production😫, with my density and low porosity it's gross😔. Yeah the original Sulfur 8 is very strong. You can mix it with another grease to calm the smell or just buy their light version with the blue label that is not as strong. That's what I use. I find it at Walmart depending where you go or you should be able to buy it online. Hope this helps you get the same benefits and less of the smell. 😊

giving up gluten and dairy mademy skin flourish and my scalp had no more dandruff. unfortunately, i haven't been able to live without cheese, so i be feelin crusty after a day, so i have to wash my hair quite often. i might give up dairy again i know i'm better off without it
My hair doesn't like grease at all. Like at all. Unless said hair grease is all / mostly natural it's a no for my hair. My hair loves and thrives off of oils. So if you're someone like myself and your scalp is a no grease zone. Use pomades and hair butters that are made from oils. That way you get the benefits of hair grease with out the petroleum and mineral oils.
Keracare dry and itchy glossifier is amazing for the scalp. Cooling feeling without the strong smell of sulfur 8 and it does have sulfur in the ingredients. Great video.
I've seen your modified Sulfur 8 video and plan on incorporating it into my regimen to address occasional itchy scalp. Right now I'm in braids and will be picking up their braid spray as well. Sidenote: Fuschia is good color on you.

Yeah I’ve neglected my scalp for too long. My scalp is just so baddd! This is why it’s not growing ! I’ve heard of this product for a long time. I believe we even used this when I was younger. But I don’t think we were consistent with it. Grease is what our texture thrives on I believe. I think when you watch these other hair textures you start to think your hair can do what they can do lol. I’m going to get this tomorrow.. time to get my hair back!!
Yes I actually purchased sulphur powder and mixed it with vaseline so it would be more potent. Sulfur8 grease works well to....but I noticed the sulfur is not in the sulfur8 shampoo anymore. Anyways this has saved my scalp!
@@kippy455 hi! I'm sorry I don't! But I got the powder off Amazon but some pharmacies have it too. I basically mix about a teaspoon of vaseline to a 3rd of a teaspoon of powder. Stir into a yellow paste. Try it and if doesn't help add more powder! Hope this helps!
Sulfur 8 is my go to hair grease when my scalp is itching to the point that I want to rip my hair off of my scalp. The grease immediately calms my scalp. I own the shampoo and braiding spray as well. Keep the content coming, I don't usually comment but I am watching with an occasional 👍here and there.
I suffer with Seborrheic Dermatitis and also Alocepcia Areta. Its very annoying. I use sulfur 8 grease and the shampoo. It helps alot. I need to use it more often and not switch up because I break out again. I recently shaved my head bald last week and it's growing back fast already. I will continue to use these products to keep the seborrhea away and keep my scalp healthy so my hair can grow back healthy and strong.

I tried to use sulphur 8 on my scalp, but it seemed to make my condition worse. I had to stop using it. It seems like grease itself just irritated my scalp more but I loved how soft and shiny my hair was when I started using it again. You are the reason I started back using it. I love your videos and your hair is gorgeous. I may try it again since my scalp has calmed down because my hair is so dry with using just oils and moisturizers. Nothing seems to help like grease.💙💙💙
I think you may have seborrheic dermatitis... sulphur 8 does not work on my scalp, or any oils for that matter...good luck I think you should check out a dermatologist 🙏🏿
Try Apple Cider Vinegar rinses or at least research them to see the benefit. They work for me as well as using Sulfur 8 shampoo and grease. I use those once a month or twice a month and the shampoo and grease at least twice a month or more depending on how my scalp looks, feels, or if it's calm. I just adjust it from what I see and know about my scalp. Plus I don't like having a greasy scalp no more than I need to. Hope this helps. 😊
Try tea tree oil. I mix a few drops in shampoo or conditioner in my hand (not the bottle). Let it sit for a few minutes then rinse really well. You could also try rosemary oil. I also use tea tree oil and/or rosemary oil in a carrier oil and apply it to my scalp during the week or right before I wash.
Aloe coconut oil Dawn dish soap Shea moisture manuka honey DC and African pride leave in works for my daughter with 4a hair twice a week I use sulfur 8
Anyone else have this concern: When you have your afro/ natural hair, no issues. But when heat applied (relaxer/flat iron) the dandruff pops right up even after u finished washing and blow drying. Ugh

I haven’t but dandruff is a persistent and consistent condition. You just have to keep using products that combat it, to maintain your scalp. There is no cure. You can however try taking probiotics. Sometimes dandruff is an external symptom of our internal health. Taking probiotics and changing your dietary habits might make a difference. Continue topical treatments though.
I am going to buy all things sulphur8 that I can get my hands on. My hair is always clean but for some reason, it itches me so badly, I scratch my scalp and I don't see any dirt or flakes. will try this and see how it goes. Thank you.
I've always had dry scalp, my hair is very long. So in my case, no correlation with dry scalp and hair growth. Having said that sulfur 8 is pretty good.
Hi. Thanks for this informative video. I have 4c/3a natural hair. I also have a very itchy scalp as of the last 3 years. I tried this burgundy crochet hair style and ever since my scalp has been excessively itchy. I have tried several oils, Selum blue, apple cider rinses ( which temporarily helps) ,throughly cleaning combs and brushes, keeping my bonnets clean, but nothing has relieved me of the itching. My hair cannot withstand braids or crochets etc due to the excessive itching. It’s really inconvenient and uncomfortable as now I struggle to get a good nights sleep and make it to work on time cuz I have to stimulate my scalp every morning. What’s even more weirder is after shampoos my scalp excessively tingles in an itchy way. Could you please help as I don’t know what to do but see a dermatologist?

I truly feel like I have psoriasis or dermatitis on my scalp. My hair flakes even after wash days & can become extremely itchy ! I usually find little flakes stuck in my strains, they are grey/beige colored flakes. It’s so annoying ! I’m going to grab & try sulfur 8 !
@@sidology1.0 yes honestly diet change ! Has helped me the most. Apparently it starts from inflammation within the body. Also, using Royals Oils Head & Shoulders shampoo. I’ve also noticed the same flakes on the side of my nose .

It played a huge role in my hair and hair loss , I started taking pre & probiotics, ate a lot of probiotic and fermented foods like yogurt, kimchi, lots of water , I still have flare ups here and there depending on what I’ve been eating but I feel like I’ve gotten it under control !

I otherwise use wen, n only wash my hair 1 a week now....I then put on wen oil on my ends(about 1/3 a dropper full...smells great....and it turns my friz to soft curls, I then dry with a diffuser(to ALMOST DRY).....I THEN use a paul Mitchel bean size curls finishing cream...n scrunch
Hi Zara, thanks for the great content. I still haven't found the perfect strategy to maintain my scalp (with braids) after working out. How would you advise someone who works out 4 times a week?
I use this product called "cantu root rinse" its a water based buildup remover and it has apple cider vinegar with tea tree oil. I mix it with a little water and put that into a spray bottle. Preferably after you shower, spray directly to your scalp area with water and then spray the root rinse in (do not over saturate your hair with water just make it damp). Let it sit in your hair until you feel that "intense" head and shoulders feeling and then spray more water to wash it out. Let air dry then wrap with a cotton/cloth . This is what I do to maintain my 5 day active weeks! This may seem like alot but it isnt. This regimen takes 10 minutes. Hope this helps :)

Hey girl! I've been gathering all the ingredients to make the modified Sulfur8 concoction, but I have done research on the Sulfur8 conditioner and it contains Triclosan, which was banned by the FDA. You yourself said it was banned, so should I really be putting this in my hair? I'm confused.

My scalp gets so itchy(especially when wet), it also has a weird smell when I wet it. Even when I wash it, it still has a weird smell. But when I itch it, it makes it even more itchy. I don’t know what to do anymore, even the area most itchy is starting to thin out. Please help me!!!
