Another great video! In regards to water drainage, I think a lot people don't realize it doesn't just have to be functional. We were quote $18k to "waterproof" our basement that had very small amount of water during flood season. Said screw that, I'd rather redirect water than "waterproof". 150 sqft Patio against house to improve water runoff - $2k Dry well, fench drain, and plumb downspouts - $1k Upgrade to 6" gutters - $1k Metal carport and patio awning to improve water run off - $4k So instead of a dug up yard with a vapor barrier around the foundation and an interior French drain... water comes no where near my house. I have an outdoor entertainment space, parking, new rock beds with hardscaping and proper water mitigation for half the price.

Thanks as always, Bobby. Excellent info! My yard is flanked by woods in the back and giant pines in the front. You can't dig anywhere without hitting roots it seems so most of my planned projects are pretty superficial as I don't want to disturb too many. Gotta work with what I have and make sure I don't harm any of these trees, like you mentioned. The last thing I need is having a fallen tree wipe out all my hard landscaping work. Thanks again!

I keep a vision and purpose board. But, instead of pulling a gasline on a firepit, why not a propane tank one. I would think it more portable. Btw, ty.

Propane is also an option but not every for pit model has a storage compartment. Just something to think about if considering gas.

can you talk a little bit about making the decision to remove a tree? like maybe a invasive species Norway Maple here in the northeast?

I love watching your videos… very inspiring :) I have a couple of questions…We are doing our backyard DIY. Our neighbors have a chain link fence that we want to hide with a privacy fence. How far away should place our fence from the neighbors fence? Second question; we are placing a concrete patio on our side of the privacy fence. I want it to go as close to the fence as I can. So basically, how much room do I need between the neighbors fence and our concrete patio so that we can place a privacy fence? I’m sure that is as clear as mud lol

Stay within your property line which can be accomplished with a survey. As long as you are on your property, you can go all the way to the line.
