Did anyone else notice when they were playing with fireworks, Kaori's sprinkler didn't work and instead she took Kosei's and set it off and waved it around. Thinking about it now, that symbolism is profoundly one of my favorite things in this anime.

I don't normally cry when I watch anime even during the emotional ones but the last 10 or so episodes of this anime I was bailing my eyes out with tears. This was one of the only animes where the main characters love interest (arguable) actually dies and gets replaced... As a person who finished watching it 20 mins ago I am yet to stop crying and I think that is what makes the anime good, it leaves an impact.

I love when something touches me like that while watching an anime. It shows how well the story was written and the time the producers put into the show.

7:33 I read that this moment symbolizes when the surgeon operating on Kaori accidentally cuts one of the arteries in her heart with a pair of scissors causing her to bleed out. That's why the sudden rush of cherry blossoms out her chest is so sudden and violent.

at the exact moment kaori's ghost started to appear, I knew that everything was going to end badly

This anime had me crying! Especially the end, it reminded me of my child that my wife and I lost because of a miscarriage. Two days after that, I had a dream of a beautiful girl, probably in her middle school years calling me dad, I will never forget that. I play guitar and I try to play with all my heart and soul to try and reach her, this anime portrays that struggle 1000 percent.

I cried every time when i watch this anime.

When i first watched this anime, the final episode broke me, and i couldn't stop crying form the moment i saw her Spirit play the violin with him. A lot of people cry when they hear the letter, but to me the Ballade they play Chopin's Ballade made this even more heartbreaking. As it was considered Chopin's dearest work to his heart. He wrote the ballade during an 8 month stay in Vienna when he was still searching for a treatment or cure for his illness. The Ballade to me represents how he viewed his life and the possible acceptance that his disease would end his life. The Ballade to me is an interpretation of how unfair he thought his life was in what he wanted but he was still blessed with friends and those around him who supported him. This is why Your Lie in April is truly beautiful to me how the music and it's history ties into a lot of the characters and their struggles through the year we know them. Chopin considered his life unfair because his disease prevented him from helping his fellow comrades in Poland during the revolution. He hated himself so much for not being able bodied to fight that he personally exiled himself from his homeland and never returned to Poland out of shame. If you ever listen to CHopin's work, you can feel so much of his emotions in the music. His pain, his regret, his self loathing but you can also feel the love he had for his homeland and the people he cherished in his life. The final song being CHopin's Ballade is both pain and joy of life.

The man on the second left camera, he was there, silent, enjoying it, reading all the lines, listening the music, and at the end, he finally started crying a lot. My respects to that man. Just there, enjoying the whole episode till the end. Well, he was crying the entire episode, but his reaction at the end is what i mean.

Hope homie in the black with the hat is alright now. I did exactly what he did during this scene and didn't move my face from my hands for a few min. It's crazy how a short anime like this can change your outlook on life.

This is a masterpiece. The song could not have been used better. It begins slowly, like Kousei's depressive life. Then Kaori enters his life, full of life, and joy. Then when she is about to leave in sakura, snow, clouds- all images of transience- Kousei screams and fights. This is where his playing gets erratic and chaotic. Then at the end he makes peace with her leaving and accepts death in slow, deliberate tunes. Gorgeous

I cant stop crying, rewatching it everytime now i have heart disease for a month because of that episode 😭😭😭

That scene with the coda of the ballade interlocking with Kaori exploding into flowers as she actually dies is just... Chills every time.

I love how many are the figure of speech shown in this episode. Now i get it why author used petals bursting out of her body as a symbol of her death. He wants to us to understand that all of that happened only within spring season and the snow raining down as she vanished means that's the end of those moments. Spring in japan comes the cherry blossoms and when winter hits, cherry blossoms loses their petals. Spring(kaori appeared) cherry blossoms (Kaori) Snow or winter(Death) petals(life) Trunk (memories).... Cherry blossoms without petals is just a trunk . That's what it is for Kousei. That's how I see in it's last episode

I hate in all anime when the girls always hit the main character for stupid reasons but this anime made me tear up so much if you didn’t cry watching this what r u doing did you even watch it?

I don't understand how they were even able to talk at all, i'm left speechless everytime i watch this scene

Having felt like Kousei before and the thought of meeting a person who would proceed to help you find joy in life, only to have them pass away not long after without you being able to express your affection and get closure before it's too late, just completely fucks me up. Just the thought of this scene still makes me bawl without pause several years later.

Raised by a single dad I rarely cry (if I do it’s alone in the shower) and have a hard time w showing emotions (which I’m trying to work on) but every April I watch this and it’s like everything from all my past just comes flooding through w all the emotions. I love this anime so much.

Damn, been so long I still cried like a baby seeing other people react to these scenes. Brought back all the memories I thought I had forgotten. Easily this is one of the best anime to ever exist and I shall be back maybe 10-20 years or even later down the line and still shed a tear or two over this masterpiece.

The ending of the song just the piano and the violin gets me every time to the point I have that song on my phone it’s sad yet it’s bittersweet in its own way because it tells the viewer not every story starts with a happy beginning but that doesn’t mean we can change the ending to it

The reason why Arima immediately look sad when Kaori appeared is because he probably knew that if her spirit is here then it means her spirit had left her body... Meaning that she's already dead

Something i learned from this anime. "A boy cheats on girl, And girl cheats on boy, Nothing happens. BUT when they both fall in love, Fate will take them away"
