I like that part where he looks up at the wall and smiles and you think he is thinking about his friends, but no, he is obsessing about a random drawing of his exit and casts aside the gift from Gangle.
Consider: Kaufmo abstracted out of loneliness. Yes, he wanted to get out. More than anyone else at the time. Why? Everyone else had settled in to their lives and felt a sense of companionship with one another. Kaufmo tried. He tried to blend in and schmooze with the dudes, but it never seemed to work. No one really paid him that much attention, and his jokes fell flat. He'd even have to put up with bullying from Jax. Even in a tiny glass bowl, he was still a fish out of water. That would do anyone in.
It truly hurt me when Kaufmo, instead of running to his new family, refused to accept what was happening to him and eventually went crazy. Poor Kaufmo..
It's honestly a mercy that you're even capable of going crazy in the Digital Circus. When you enter it, you're stuck there forever and get permanent amnesia with no memories of your past life and are (probably) incapable of dying. Imagine how much of a hellscape the Digital Circus would be if you're also incapable of losing your sanity.
@@ragingshibeI thought it was your name that you forget, as Pomni seems to remember putting in a headset to enter, maybe she has some memories of her past?
@@M.R.BrickFilmsThe memory of the headset is the immediate memory of the real world. That doesn't mean she remembers her place in it, that any of them do. They can't remember their real names when they log in. What else can't they remember?
If your wondering how it’s sad here’s why : 1. First of all notice the last thing he drew of “mom and dad “ considering how if he was a familiar age to the other people in the tent he wouldn’t be making these types of drawings 2. Notice the hand writing it would look familiar to a young child’s type of handwriting 3. Your last moments of being sane is you having two wishes 1 going home , and 2 seeing your loved ones . 4: in your last desperation of suffering and just wanting to go back home you finally abstract just less than an hour later you get sent to h3ll even more torture than before never seeing your family and home ever again and your only company in these desperate times are other victims that had suffered the same fate as you spending time there until cane decides so ( the same ai that trapped you in that torture just makes you suffer even more) note : I forgot how he ran in a familiar way as a child too
The part that bothers me the most is that Caine then takes Kaufmo to the "cellar" where there are more abstracted characters. And that's what hurt me a lot, that Kaufmo, in addition to not being able to leave, lost his new body, companions, home, and now he will have to be in a completely empty place and apparently without any possibility of being the same as before. He just lost everything
It’s not as bad as it sounds, all of the suffering is during the abstraction if we assume it’s anything like the coding term. Your personality and other identifying characteristics are ripped away and you become this generic husk, making it basically death. It’s not quite death since a small part of you is still there, but it almost is.
@minecrafter3448 Kaufmo is essentially brain dead. Returned to his basic instincts, his higher thought processes non existent. I'd even venture to guess that time and place no longer have meaning to the abstracted. They don't even recognize they are in The Cellar, and are just mindlessly waiting for nothing at all.
Definitely the scariest and saddest part of this is losing yourself, no memories of family, your name, who you were, just the realization of how you got there and the fact that you’ll never leave.
This made me realize that, while the six characters we know are all over 18, we don't know anything about Kaufmo and the other Abstracted. It's entirely possible some of them were kids. I hate this.
Do yuo KNOW What is TADC Characters(not the abstracted one's) Ages? If yuo don't know here is: Pomni:25 Ragatha:30 Kinger:48(The Very older One) Gangle:26 Zooble:22(a half year older than Jax) Jax:22(The only youngest one)
@@user-bruh736so kinger is a grown adult here. He could have just been a teen When he arrived, personally I think kinger will reach his breaking point next.
poor kaufmo, i think him drawing that picture of his family was his last attempt at trying to keep himself sane, but not even being able to tell what they looked like just broke him, after that point, even a picture of his friends could'nt help him, he just blindly charged at the first thing that looked like an exit, and when it failed...
If we look at how the video does him, he could actually be a Child Trapped as a Clown rather than an Adult. This makes it 10x more depressing if he actually *IS* a child Regardless of Age. He quite literally *Lost* everything similar to everyone else here, the difference is that not all individuals cope or handle situations the same as others. Sadly Kaufmo wasn't one that could handle it. Seeing the clown flat out break with just a *SMILE* shown before he changes is straight depressing.
@kiloSilverBviewssecondago And at that moment, Caine looked like the scared one backed against a wall... I really like the way this artist emphasizes how tiny Caine is compared to most of the other characters. You tend not to notice it when he's yelling bombastically and zipping around with his wild gestures and silly expressions: his role as the "god" of this world and his larger-than-life personality make up for his small stature. But put him in a situation he's NOT prepared for, NOT in control of... and you're suddenly aware again of Caine not as a god or a ringleader, but just a funny little floating teeth man with big, startled eyes.
i like the idea kaufmo abstracted right befor pomni showed up. thay could have found the "exit" together and even been friends but goose had other plans.
I love how the beginning implies that the reason he broke was that he had a vague but big reason of wanting to escape. Makes me wonder is the reason why Jax takes it so well is because he has no reason or someone waiting for him outside
It must be terrifying being transported to a inescapable world and loosing yourself. There’s one part of you desperately trying to cling to whatever memories you have of your old life but day by day it gets harder and harder to do that. It’s no wonder the poor guy snapped.
For me, I would actually enjoy it in the Digital Circus compared to my stupid life right now in the human realm. If I ever found an exit there, I wouldn’t bother with it.
@@Mr.Fire9906 In retrospect Caine is kinda the one to blame for their misery yes he’s supposedly an ai keeping them trapped but giving them fake exit doors is building up there hopes only to crush them and make them feel worse which could then make them abstract because they give in to insanity and hopelessness.
I love Kaufmo no matter how little screen time he got. Honestly- the utilization of this music, making you think “oh maybe this is a happy ending actually” and you see the drawing- then he rips it off the wall… Oh my heart strings…
The fact that it was made by Gangle just makes it so much sadder in my opinion, as Gangle’s door is opposite of Kaufmo’s, meaning that they were probably very good friends
When Caine said,"What happened here?! Oh this was my doing." He was referring to the Gloinks. However... Kaufmo abstracting WAS his doing. He created the exit door in an effort to give the people what he thought they wanted, but it was really false hope and it broke Kaufmo. It nearly broke Pomni too.
@@_fanny- It is implied that abstracting happens when a player completely loses grip their sanity to the point they don't recognise themselves ( that is why the form is so weird ) or others. In a way that thing was not Kaufmo anymore
@@anomalocaris2593 ohh, So why wasn't Pomni abstracted then? She threw up, she completely zomed out, she turns her grin into an absolutely manifesting one, she pulls her eye.. Just so lucky.
Ok, this is one of, if not, THE most well done and most detailed fan work of this series for a number of reasons: -Firstly, this person nailed the art style, everything looks like it came out of the show besides being 2d -Secondly, having a Gangle's drawing on his room makes sense since we know Gangle likes to draw and it's a pretty wholesome drawing for it to be made by anyone other than her, also she insulting Jax on the drawing would be the only way she could vent her frustration caused by him because she's apparently too sad to stand up for herself (I thought about this while I was writing this) -I already said this person nailed the art style, but ALL the background is so detailed dude, I could look at it forever -The way it was presented Kaufmo looking at Gangle's drawing only for him to be looking at the exit drawing was amazing and seamlessly done, just wow. -The abstracting scene is very well made and I loved that they drew other scenes from the episode in the beat on the song -And last but not least, the end scene is just the Circus floor, because that's where he's, in The Cellar, I found this genius because they could've just drawn The Cellar, but they added this other cool way of showing where he's now
I hadn't considered that some of the characters trapped in The Amazing Digital Circus were actual children, but it makes sense. While the game is for all ages, it would mostly have been played by kids, some of whom were sucked into the game. If an adult eventually snaps due to being trapped in a strange world with no hope of escape, a terrified child wouldn't be able to hold it together for long.
This part is depressing, 0:24, how kaufmo looks at the picture of his friends. And instead of realizing there’s more than getting to the exit, he rips of the poster and looks straight to the exit door. This really shows that desperation to a goal that won’t happen can do to someone.
Makes more sense now when Ragatha stated: "Constantly chasing and unatainable goal will start driving you a bit crazy-(blah blah blah)- then you loose sight of who you are or why you even exist". Kaufmo doesn't care about his 'friends' anymore, he wants to see his real friends and leave. Unfortunately he'd abstracted and now can actually never leave.
Kaufmo ripped Gangle's drawing off because they didn't really care about him They pretended they were laughing at his jokes And when Kaufmo got abstracted, the other characters got shocked but not sad
OK I admit, that was well done, the fact that Kaufmo doesn't remember his Family, always thinks there is a Way Out and simply goes crazy because of it makes me feel bad for him, no one laughs at his jokes, and most likely he Yeah... just Alone and Depressed deep down, this is really well done and I like imagining this is what happened before Jax opened the Door or something. Really Cool
TADC really nails the horror of being treated like a toy, an object. It’s the kind of subject material that The Owl House really dropped the ball on with The Collector.
This actually made my cry a little. He just wants a normal life, he was taken away by everything and everyone that he loves, and everyone there just puts him in heck. I feel bad.
I think the worst part about extraction is, that we know almost nothing about what exactly happens to the affected person. They could very much still be "conscious" and just be in a state of shock which is why they attack others. Imagine if they eventually calm down and find themselves surrounded by nothing but an empty void, all alone, doomed to stay there forever.
@@BLOCKYBLOX542 Everyone in the circus game knows about Kaufmo before Pomni arrived. This poor clown had been gone insane about the exit when he want to escape from this digital world, until he was reach his breaking point

The bit where we thought Kaufmo was running to the drawing of his friends for relief but it turned out he was going to the drawing of the exit made me feel so sad.
“I heard a joke once... man goes to doctor, says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh... and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says, "Treatment is quite simple. The Great Clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should cheer you right up." Man bursts into tears “But doctor...I AM PAGLIACCI!!!” Ha Ha, good joke... everybody laugh... roll on snare drum... curtains...” - Rorschach, Watchmen, Chapter 2: Absent Friends
Well, Ragatha looked pretty depressed by the end after Caine put him in the cellar. Sure, it was probably a culmination of all the other things (like Pomni abandoning her while she was in pain), but earlier she explicitly said she thought Caine would be able to turn Kaufmo back to normal. Seeing what happened instead was probably salt to the wounds. Also Gangle said she hoped Kaufmo was okay before they entered the Gloinks’ nest, and Zooble said she was surprised he gave up. I think they cared about him at least to an extent, but given how many eyeballs in the abstracted chambers there were (ergo, other characters who reached their breaking point), I think it’s safe to say the remaining crew are probably accustomed to seeing that by now. EDIT: my b, Ragatha said Caine would “take care” of him. Which admittedly could have various implications as to what she meant, but considering she called him a friend earlier, I think she expected (or at least hoped for) better treatment for him than to be callously tossed away. Either way, pretty sad for Kaufmo.
Man, this is what I call a masterpiece, even if we dont know exactly how Kaufmo was going through abstraction, or that's wasn't the Kaufmo in the room himself. The work really well done!
Wow, what an incredible animation with Kaufmo's movements, you can see his desperation and how he really went little by little crazy until he became completely abstracted
When I looked at first I was sad cause I saw Kaufmo draw his family without knowing who they are. It got sadder when you realize that he was happy with his family in the picture and the fact he drew a small heart on the side is sad
I've heard theories that the reason nobody laughed at his jokes was because they were in poor taste, but if it's because he was a child, that would definitely make more sense since kids aren't exactly the best comedians
If Pomni had stayed in there nearly as long as the others, the false hope of the exit door could definitely have made her abstract. Since Kaufmo had all these exit drawings in his room, that must mean he faced the truth about Caine's creation. He possibly felt that artificial escape was the only hope, and he wouldn't accept it in the end. Hope they can figure a way out together.
He claims the one thing he can't control is their minds. I don't think he knows HOW to fix them, so all he can do is keep them from hurting anything or anyone else
@@elanon6492 seems like that’s the case but I’m curious on the part we’re ragatha Said that there could still be time to fix them up meaning that THERE is a chance that they can be unabstracted if done in enough time
It's really sad though at first you think he's looking at the picture Gangle made for him but he's just looking at picture of an exit. he drew when it does that you feel like your tricked into believing this is an animation if he wasn't abstracted, but I hope in the future we get to maybe see him somehow unabstracted and see him have more screen time if that's the case he might be my new fav character. Edit: Hate to be that person but I've never gotten even one like so thanks to those who did like! 🤩 Edit 2: For those of you who don't know the last two frames are the shots of when Caine is sending Kafumo down to the void.
How do you know? In the future Caine could actually figure it out. Also why are you just making assumptions you don't work on the show now do you? Listen just give the show time and we'll see who's wrong@@Gangle766
I still like the theory that Kaufmo tripped on the bowling ball because Jax put it there which is what sent him over the edge. Oh also on a somewhat related note I *really* wish that the abstracted designs had some kind of influence based on their original design, it would be so cool to see abstracted fanart of known characters or even the door characters we dont fully see.
Gooseworx confirmed that when characters abstract, they all become that glitchy, eye ridden monstrosity. Abstracting is stripping all uniqueness away and leaving behind a feral shell.
The fact that the drawing of Jax originally said "Stupid Bunny" then was striked off and was written "Jax" and what makes it better is that it was drawn by Gangle. 😂
The fact that at 0:24 there was special look on picture of his friends and then he just runs to the exit door picture and in this time just throws picture of his friends is hurts . . .
…if only he realised they could be his new family? He can’t. He never will. He was sent to a landscape where he can’t remember who he is… why he’s alive… who his actual family is. Even if he did realise, he’d be torturing his soul and his real memories and leaving all of it to rot… He can’t just _do_ that… it’s sad, really. He can’t just look at them and decide that they, complete strangers and people they don’t know can be their real family. Even though he has friends, he has memories. Burning memories. Their like pain that they want to be ended, but it never did.
The fact that Kaufmo The Clown looks at his new family and home, but then realises that he wants to EXIT more than anything. Then, he goes insane and goes abstracted like that.
I honestly just hope we get to see Caine be able to fix at least one of the abstracted characters, it doesn’t matter who, it just gives the rest of the circus hope (mostly Kinger) that there’s a way to reverse it. WE WANNA SEE THEM Edit: I know it was confirmed that it will never happen but I can dream
This perosn needs to be hired either as an animator or a writer for the ADC series because they were able to convey so much with no dialogue, and have such good animation skills on top of that, bravo.
I remember the scene while pomni was mentally going insane of going through many doors then suddenly the light started to flicker and she yelled would probably mean she almost got abstracted
Poor kaufmo,he just wanted to get out...to see his family again...ehh..if he meets pomni...maybe he will be happy about this news...well...press f to pay respect :'(
This animation is SO COOL! It kinda makes me want an episode where one of the characters abstracts. I mean, I love these characters and I don't want them to go crazy but... It would be cool
