I heard one of these today at a BestBuy and ordered one because I found it cheaper online. It was the best sounding speaker for its price and size that I could demo. I doubt it is dramatically changing the balance of the instruments in songs you listen to. Your comments on kicks not having “definition” (likely upper mids) probably has little to do with the speaker. The frequency response is far from flat, but it is many times closer than the JBL clip which was very disappointing. Good review, I just struggled with the instrument / mix balance statement. I do live sound and recording for a living. For most people who want a very small portable speaker on the go, this will do the trick.
I have 3 of these. I use one at work every day. At a moderate volume in a large room I get a full 8 hours out of it. I have never had it go dead during the day. Also, if I want to listen to great audio, I listen to my home system. This is just a small bluetooth speaker and the sound quality is great for such a small device. To compare I just bought a JVC Charge 4. It sounded worse than the little UE. The base distorted at moderate volume and screwed up the rest of the range in the process. I returned it 2 days later and bought 2 more of the WB for the same price. Pair them up and it will kick the JVC's ass.
Thanks for the review and love the Sound Guys! Do you have a recommendation for high sound quality, but small size (fits in a man bag) speaker? I have the UE Boom 2 and I love the size and durability, but the sound quality is good, not great or outstanding. Thanks for any guidance! By the way, had the Jawbone Mini for a while, and I liked the sound quality but the volume was really limiting.
Adam Molina I've really been thinking about switching to JBL. Overall, they have gotten great reviews. I have not explored Anker as much but I'll check it out. Thanks so much!
Late reply but I felt like writing it. I own both the Wonderboom and Soundcore 2, and the Wonderboom blows it away. Wonderboom has better bass, better treble and is louder than the Soundcore 2. However, the Soundcore 2 costs way lesser than the Wonderboom. If you are on a budget, get the Soundcore 2. It's hard to believe the Soundcore 2 costs about $40 as it's a really good speaker. If u are feeling rich, get the Wonderboom. Rugged, Waterproof and overall a better speaker than the Soundcore 2.
Such agreat speakers but there is one problem my speaker is written on the top of it ( ulti mate ears ) while in all the vedios, pictures and online stores is written ( ue ) the logo and the button even on the bottom of my box on the black part written with alot of languages ... But it souns really great and high the bass is clear .. I want to know if my speaker is fake or not ..NEED HELP !!! Nice vedio btw
Bringy Awad those with UE logos are the older version, those with "ULTIMATE EARS" are the newer ones. UE has mentioned before they are manufacturing future models with the new logo. Cheers buddy :)
"It's really enjoyable if you wanna do other things and listen to music in the background..." as if anyone who ever bought or will buy a speaker this size had anything else in mind. This thing should get at least +1 points for sound quality as compared to its size.
The songs you listen to you'd probably be better with a Bose speaker if you like to here alot of instruments and guitars this is probably better for hip hop and R&B
El_Chapin14 read android police. it says something about the phone is first to have Bluetooth 5 which is the system that allows pairing to two headphones or speakers. mind you I bet Samsung haven't implement it? I read this couple months ago iand I don't have the phone. 👍
Does anyone else find it kind of strange that "Sound Guys" has one of the worse audio/video quality on RU-vid? Don't get me wrong I love the content but the production quality just screams subpar to me :(
I dont mean to bash or anything like that but your audio quality is kinda bad. Take for example mkbhd or ausin evans or the king of randoms etc or anyone less populair they have alot better soundquality. They arent even a sound related channel im just giving u a freedback to think on. Ps i know the ones i just mentioned use the red camera etc but still there has to be a cheap better mic than the one u are using.
Hey man! Thanks for the suggestion we def take this kind of stuff into consideration you're not bashing at all..so MKBHD and TLD etc use the Sennheiser MKH416 shotgun mic($1000 I can't afford)..I just got its cheaper little cousin the Sennheiser MKE600 ($330) which is also a badass budget mic that I'm still trying to play with and see how to optimize the sound I get out of it..also the environment is pretty important and my room isn't optimized for great sound loll - TLDR I'm still tweaking things until I find the settings/setup that works for me..but thanks for the feedback I have some work to do
A sound sample from the speaker is asinine. Unless you are listening to it from a Wonderboom. And, then, you'd have to have a good enough mic to record it.
