Gary, I am literally crying right now watching this. As a women, who has been told her whole life (27) "why can't you just pick one thing? why do you like so many things, You won't ever be successful if you can't do one thing well" I spend time "finding your niche" feeling overwhelmed and defeated and like something is wrong with me. :( In my life, I've been a dancer, singer, podcaster, photographer, creator, and so much more but I AM ME. I love you so much!
I'm in the same position as of now, I've been debating for a long time if i should create a niche or i will just show what I am. I feel stuck I don't know being in the creative process is really hard. This video really help me to be 'me' and do not worry about other people's insight.
It’s so crazy how relevant this is to my life right now. I’ve spent 5 years trying to find a niche to begin a podcast around and I kept thinking there’s nothing specifically that I love so much that I only want to talk about that topic. Last week it occurred to me that my “jack of all trades way of life” doesn’t work for most things but can definitely work in producing content. Come to find out today, this was a niche the whole time 😂
This is so good Ty!! I've been asking myself the question of this video for so long, and now I think I'll finally have an answer. Like you, I never knew what to specialize in. Or niche to choose... Hey brother, here's to making awesome revelations and allowing that to lead towards action!!!
I have been struggling endlessly to “find my niche” like it’s some holy grail. This perspective is a breath of fresh air, I am now a subscriber of this channel.
You don't always want to depend on a youtube channel, build your very own website on what you're passionate about and you'll be fine for the rest of your life 💯💯💯
Every time I personally tried to niche down , content would not perform well. The moment I throw the idea of niche out the window, and just create around my personality....my content performs so much better.
This is a huge mind shift. I always felt like it a flaw in me but when I heard him say “ you are the niche” that was a huge tectonic plate. I was given a huge gift of me. It’s so much more powerful than saying “be you” which has become a hollow platitude.
This was HUGE for me. I’ve actually DMd Gary a few times regarding this question. I’m a coach who helps people build wealth around their passions (can be anyone of any age) but some of my other friends who are coached in sales keep telling me I need to stick to just one area (I teach people finances, fitness, and psychology as it’s all related to achieving your potential). They keep telling me I need to super niche - i.e 40-55yr olds looking for one specific thing so I can charge 2-3k/mo (high ticket sales). I always appreciate their advice but just focusing on one little thing has always been hard.. I have so much to offer and always felt just being me is the right move. This verified it. Thanks Gary
Very happy I found this video growing up and even being an adult with ADHD it’s hard business wise to find your “niche” because you relate and love everything
Seriously, how can one guy be so inspiring and so humble and bring so much to the table? It's crazy how he manages to open minds almost all the time! I'm so happy to be able to speak English and understand, as a Brazilian who grew up based on a lack of opportunities... I wish I knew about things like this before... well, as they say: it's never too late.
Omg! I was struggling with this question since I started my channel because I have so many hobbies but everyone around is like find your niche but yeah you are right I am my niche! Wow! I am feeling so great after hearing this! That is what I was looking this whole time! I didn't have an answer to my question until now, thank you Gary! Thank you million times! Love from Croatia 😁
Society needs more people like Gary, we need to be more open minded hiring people without degrees which means nothing to the raw talents so many have. In general so much people lack gratitude and are so focused on themselves instead of helping others and showing them the real road to success.
I literally just watched 30+ videos on how to niche, niching down and what I should be niching in. Most were vague (in 2020, not surprised) and mainly pushed their affiliated linked products and courses. But ultimately I was beginning to feel more lost than ever and getting discouraged... This video here has literally spoken to what has been floating in my subconscious... Thank you so much... Aside from the useful info I got about how to play to the RU-vid algorithm, I'm tossing out all the other garbage, and sticking to my original plans. Staying myself and uploaded whatever I'm passionate about... Niches be damn!!
Love Gary's constant message about helping people and making dreams come true. As long as this guy puts his head down and grinds, that Vaynermedia internship is gonna pay huge dividends for him 🙌. Good luck to everyone on their content journey, always remember to put your unique perspective first! 🙏 🚀
Applico I absolutely agree with every word of this post, but I also think in general that if you put your head down and grind it’ll pay great dividends as well.
@@Exercise4CheatMeals Absolutely, you don't need an fancy internship to put in work. Waiting on someone else to give you the opportunity to start grinding is a big mistake, get started on your own and good things will happen!
This is why I love you...I struggle with a niche because I love and have worked hard at multiple things. Your niche is YOU...forget every other video on youtube!
Love that Gary V talks about this. As a new RU-vidr everywhere I look youtube gurus talk about having a niche to grow your channel. It’s nice to hear something different that it’s all about being true to yourself. It might take longer to grow a channel but it will be a stronger brand because it’s authentic and not manufactured.
I find being myself is what makes me different from many others, I find it way easier to make daily videos just speaking my mind and talking straight from the heart instead of trying to do what I'm not used to or I'm not good at. Excellent advise as always!
There will come a day, when some kid is interviewing me after I’ve made my dreams come true. He will ask me who my mentors are or were. I will answer the top 5. And Gary will be up there!!
Gary could have a bigger impact than Nelson Mandela, Marting Luther King and Mother Theresa combined. This man is creating a new level of influence. Thanks for everything Gary! ❤️
Couldn’t agree more with you Gary! I’ve always been someone jumping from one shiny opportunity to another, never feeling truly fulfilled. It was only when I got deep into myself and realized that my passion is helping others and teaching people about personal finances and financial education overall, only then did begin to truly enjoy what I am doing no matter how much hard work and how many sleepless nights it costs me!
This is great 💙 I tried to "niche" my channel. I definitely got subs, but I couldn't stay consistent. Now that I'm 100% authentic and just being myself, I get tons more engagement and im able to upload a lot more often
Gary Vee is absolutely correct, look at big social media influencers, Gary Vee, Joe Rogan, etc, they almost talk anything. But the key is you have to be appealing to the audience.
That niche statement is a nail in the coffin. Enough said. That's the best explanation of a "niche" I have heard on RU-vid. Thanks. All the way from South Africa.
Literally JUST started up my RU-vid page and having been racking my brain on what niche i need to be. But in reality I am such a versatile person with interest and passion in a lot of different things!! Thank you Gary Vee and Team! I will now just be Kevin! Because I know Kevin brings value not just his interests! Thank you again!
This is one of the most powerful things i have ever heard…. With this spirit I picked up my phone again today and made a video after a while. my niche is myself, my content is my life… so inspiring
Man… thank you for giving us this vision… i was getting REAAALLY STUCKED by just narrow to a specific topic… now what you’ve done was make it clear for a persona, brand… thank you so much gary 🔥
Love this. When I get too in my own head and caught up on what people will think. I come to Gary and that gets me out of my own way. I don't want to niche. It feels so restrictive and that is counterintuitive to my creative process.
I’m so really surprise that video doesn’t have many people watching or pay attention to. So many so call “expert” keep telling “You need a niche! you need a niche!” And Gary said “You are the niche!” And “go broad!”. I hope I’d heard this earlier. Thanks bro!
The mindset this video depicts is literally why I put my name in my channel name and in my gamertag. I also do it as a courtesy to anyone subbing because I don't want them to be shook if they see me playing something out of what I'm typically creating content around.
What you just said, means a lot. I've been struggling with the niche thing, I just wanted to do what I like, but was afraid of being to broad. But I like exploring different things and you just enable me. Thank you Gary!
Gary's inverted niche theory is awesome for those who want to build a large brand, which is what Gary has said of himself all along. But If you want something transactional, like most, quickest path to the money is still singular content on your subject matter. You have to have self awareness on what you want.
This has to be one of the most powerful videos I’ve ever watched/listened to in my life. Gary is saying completely different things than every other video, but it’s so factual. This helped me. Thank you Gary
My God this video is amazing. I have watched it like 4 times to believe how simple is what I have been struggling for years. And got the perfect answer
This is great advice. However, the way I tackled this in my own business is finding a common denominator to all the things I'm interested in. So it's usually the big "WHY" that drives me to do what I do and that's usually what eventually attracts like-minded audience to what I do. Interesting stuff
That's exactly what I needed to hear..I was feeling so lost for the past 1 week, felt like a creative block because of opinions around me that you need to have a niche whereas I cover everything that's a part of my bucketlist ranging from small things like learning to eat with chopsticks to bigger things like staying in a luxury resort, etc. I'll continue to do my thing. I am the niche! Thank you so much Gary❤️
I love the positive energy of this video as well as the inspiring message conveyed. After many years in business I am once again changing path and was focusing too much on one niche and hitting a wall. This has helped me to look at the broader picture and work within my own authenticity. Thank you Gary
this is deep, i've been fighting myself by asking wtf am i gonna do with my social media, and i was like "oh i will pick this niche" and 30 mins later "dang, im not expert at all" and changing it again and again. Im stuck in this circle. what i got from this is you can actually put a label on yourself like entrepreneur just like gary v, so that people can remember you with such label, but for contents, you can do whatever you want with your style. There;s a damn famous youtuber in my country, he was a math student, he is totally smart, he went to japan for college and do youtube stuff filming himself doing his work, playing with his friends, visiting places, vlog, etc. but still he has the label as the "math person", now he is successful as hell, he has beverage business with over 125 outlet now less than a year if im not mistaken.
This just helped me immensely...I have a lot of interests and have struggled with "focus" hearing all the "niche" arguements out there. This is a cool way to reframe that concept and embrace my natural tendency to be interested in many things.
This helped me so much and ill tell you why!!!!!😤 I have such a huge personality with so many interests... im so broad everytime i pick something.. everyone says to niche down n it discourages me.. this.. THISSSSSS IS IT!!! This is AMAZING... i want to watch you over all the youtube guru influencers ever!!! I want to learn more from you
Man I needed this. I’m hella inconsistent because I was struggling creating content for natural hair. This is giving me a push going into the new year!
I totally love this video. The things is in the context of growing your RU-vid channel, you can't be you because not a lot of people knows you YET. That's why you gotta find the "niche" that attracts people. If i was a celebrity and famous, i won't need to find my niche, this is where Gary Vee's advice applies. Just be you. But i feel like until then, you gotta have to find the right topic that people are interested in.
Amazing! This is something I've been struggling to figure out in the past 6 months. I've come to a similar conclusion to what Gary's saying, so am working to stay somewhat broad, but having consistency by bringing through my perspective on life through the lens of my eye. It's still "in work" as I try to produce consistently, but this really helps me feel I'm not wrong about my choice
What’s up Gary?? So to be clear, you don’t think someone should start in one area of content/themselves then broaden into different areas as their reach expands?? To be fair, your RU-vid channel was solely wine, which you became an expert in, and as your reach expanded you started getting into many other fields up until today where we get every neuron in Gary Vee’s brain.
"that's how you get subscribers and views but in the long run that's not how you create something actually meaningful." That hits hard. I want to create something meaningful and not just do things because I want to get popular.
We have this military blended family Vlog channel and I have my own business self care channel . That was the best way for me to not settle for just focusing on a niche . I am slowly growing both and although it isn’t the ideal way I love it for now . Anyone else ?💕
The irony is that Garyvees “niche” is offering possibilities/ perspective. I’ve learned that people want to look up things that can “solve a problem” (boredom, A broken ac, self-esteem, etc. He’s able to Do whatever the fuck now Ofcourse because he is indeed “GaryVee” - the man who enlightens others with possibilities and a new perspective- he offers us a solution. That is his niche. And for that we follow him and agree to see whatever he puts forward. 🤷🏽♀️ #GOALS ⚡️⚡️⚡️💜💜💜✨✨✨ CAN I GET 10 min with you Gary! 😘
Dam you answered so many questions for Me, THANK YOu! I am 61, a crazy hippie artsy chick, who kicked terminal cancers ASS, as of 7/2021, & I am ready to rock & roll you tube, thank you thank you thank you. Authenticity is the name of the game
I needed to hear this today! my gut is telling me to stay in my non-niche creative lane, but others are telling me "pick a niche" "you need a niche" blah blah blah. back to creating! Thanks Gary V!
And this kid sounds just like how I do. Literally seeing myself in him. And it’s confusing for my brain to understand and I love how he’s like “not my real friends my real serious business acquaintances” 100% still trying 2 make that money for real
Damn I love your words man💗 I make two niches on my channel, but I still believe on myself. The most important thing for me, is be yourself and do what you want
Im feel so good, ONLY watching the " aura " coming FROM GARY, in this moments i saw your " intospective intelligence " SIDE, but in your CORE was the both feel when his stay in EVENTS, with A LOT OF ENERGY, Thats beautiful, my english is a shit, like myself haha but, i love can POST THIS THANKS FOR YOUR EXISTENCE IN WORLD, GARY
The fact you can have a random fan jump in the back of the car and have a "meeting" (an actual meeting that doesn't need 30 to 60 god damn minutes). But to drop an internship because of a gut feeling is what speaks volumes to me. Cool shit!
