This is another episode of “YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED“ and in last week’s episode I answered another question from our readers and the question was
How Can you Fight for Your Loved One’s Life if the ICU Team Says Your Loved One is Brain-Dead?
You can check out last week’s question by clicking on the link here.
In this week’s episode of “YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED”, I am here with a live stream today, where I want to answer your questions if you have a loved one in intensive care. And this is one of the most commonly asked questions for families in intensive care and it’s a question that we get all time. And today’s live stream is about how long does it take to wake up after an induced coma?
How Long Does it Take for your Loved One to Wake Up After An Induced Coma?
So first, I want to encourage you to call into the show if you like and you can call me on 415 915 0090, if you’re in the United States or in Canada. If you’re in the UK, you can call me on 0118 324 3018. And if you’re in Australia, call me on 041 094 2230 and you can call live into the show.
So many families in intensive care when they have a loved one in there, a majority of patients in intensive care end up on a ventilator with a breathing tube/endotracheal tube. When someone ends up in intensive care with a ventilator and an endotracheal tube or a breathing tube in their mouth, they need to be induced into a coma.
Simple reason for that is, this breathing tube or endotracheal tube is so uncomfortable, that it can’t be tolerated while on a mechanical ventilation.

My Uncle is not waking up even after his sedation is removed. He was on sedation for 16 days. It`s been 5 days since his medically induced coma has been removed but still is he not waking up. Hes a severe post covid 19 patient. He had multiple organ injury and lung damage, he also had a mild cardiac arrest and neurological damage. Well your video gives me hope. Please pray that he wakes up , he has a 4 year old son waiting for him at home.

If you have a tbi and taken off sedation n ventilator and and you start talking or responding to commands and then aspirate following day why put back into induced coma with fentanyl when never on been on fentanyl before?

Does a doctor's negative attitude affect how he is treating my sister. He told her husband that there is a fine line between hope and delusion, and he needs to get in touch with reality. I hope this does not affect decisions the doctor is making in regard to her treatment..... I am appalled at this horrible bedside manner. She is in induced coma with serious tbi and skull fracture. She has been under for 2 weeks.
