how do you know he had nothing going on? Sure if this was real life he would be giving off dead beat vibes but I watch a lot of movies and in movies he gives off rich guy who is depressed because his wife and/or kid has died. I bet early on you'll learn he sold his tech business and doesn't have to work then they'll never discuss money or jobs again.

Nope. This movie was literally a long improve skit. The Duplass brothers are excellent artists. I don't think not many actors in Hollywood in that particular age range could have had the chops to pull this off. Maybe Jake Johnson or Joseph Gordon Levitt. I went in not knowing a thing and I loved it by the end. Proper indie movie.
