Daniel Nichanian joins, diving right into the state election polling one month out of the election, Trump’s struggle to persuade voters outside of his strongholds, and Harris’ performance in swing states. Stepping back, Nichanian and Emma unpack the incredible precarity of the New York Democratic Party in the wake of their center-right pivot over the last few election cycles, what their poor favorability in the state means for Harris and Congress, before looking to the major Senate races to look for, namely Colin Allred’s challenge to Ted Cruz and Tester’s fight to retain his seat, also diving into Independent Dan Osborn’s race out of Nebraska. After briefly unpacking the major state-level abortion referendums on the ballot in November (and their potential impact up- and down-ballot), Daniel highlights some other big referendums - including redistricting, minimum wage, and transit and affordable housing funding - and wraps up by exploring the major fights going on for state-level control in Arizona and North Carolina.
