Part of me has to wonder if he's just training us because he's concerned about his granddaughter and wants us to be able to protect her reliably (or at least not be a threat with unstable powers). Having some influence over us, having us feel like we owe him, is a bonus that he would happily have in play, but not the primary motivation..
Very cool how you have kept this series going for so long and kept it interesting and fun. You got some amazing worldbuilding and storytelling skills. Keep it up :-)
The Grandfather might need to go sleep in his coffin to recover from all those burns. (He's enough of a traditionalist, so I'm sure he still uses one at least sometimes.) That line near the end does worry me a bit. The Angel got a big kick out of flashing their eyes almost whenever they got a chance. It very well *could* be an addiction, in a way. If so, it's one that the Grandfather was encouraging, and that... is not cool. Whatever the case, this was awesome to listen to, and definitely another great entry in one of my favorite series. Thanks for the audio, Nymph.
