Seems like the Tiffen filters have different prices depending on the size... I can't create links at the moment so for other options check out K&F and Moment Cinebloom filters.
When I bought DSLR 7 yrs ago, I found out those Picture control in the camera, you can modify every individual adjustment as you like, I set sharpen to zero every Picture control I use, and also Active D lighting off (nikon) then my photo look a lot nicer. Yes those white halo at the edge between contrast objects were gone. and I think for nikon, Picture control affect video mode as well. Your video confirm my believe that overly sharpen make video look more ugly than nicer. Thank you for that. 👍
Yes cameras are getting so good but there’s a ridiculous amount of sharpness that it really doesn’t look natural. The iPhone is a prime example of this. I do need to bring it up a tad with my a6400 as the 1080p slow motion looks more like 720p. I’m defiantly going to take this into account for next time, I also bought a pro must filter too. Thank you for the video tips as always!
Shoot in HD for a more natural look. Even though I always shoot 4K for work, I can sometimes see parts of an image that are too sharp and can even cause weird moiré effects.
the removing in camera sharpness is a great tip! and yeah i just recently started shooting with a black mist (yeah i went with 1/4) on my sirui 50mm ff anamorphic, and yeah that's a lovely combination. i even do live streams with this combo, and it definitely creates a very different kind of image than most live music streams.
I also don't get why they do that to the display of TV's in TV stores 🤦🏻♂🤣. Great tips (I pretty much use tip #1 but love tip #3) - thanks as always Joris, and cheers for the laughs too 😂 (forgetting your favourite tip (#3) / the desk ornament - which I personally think is pretty cool ). I hope the move is going well for you guys - as a former painter and decorator I feel your pain RE painting your new studio 😩. Best of luck 🤟
Hey bro am glad am not one of those people whose words are pup,all i know is your cool and you give very helpful advice thank you for what you do,some of your advices help me alot in my channel so thanks.
lately I have to shoot wide open with my Lumix LX10 because of all the dust and linen which got sucked into the lens over the years and stains my image.
for my understanding 2 things mainly makes videos movie-like. 1. Sharpness 2. Frame per second. is it correct? 24 -30 fps kind of slower then real life and less sharpness makes video like soft/perfect.
my 2 cents on tip #2, shooting with high aperture (2.8-4) on a full frame sensor using a short-long telephoto comes with a very shallow depth of field.
I also notice many people over sharpen and over saturate colors on video And Stills. Why? and I liked the glass item on the desk. It added a little visual interest.
I'm using samsung a53 I find the video quality too sharp like it was digitally enhanced. It doesn't look natural. When I look at the mirror and compared it to my footage I can really see the difference. I prefer natural looking video rather than sharp but doesn't look like what you see in the real world
I dunno. I liked the thing that filled the empty. It drew my eye immediately. Then again, it occurs to me you might not have wanted the viewer's eye to go immediately to that thing.
