howdy. 🎵 it seems that Mr Powell was a detective in 5 shows- 🇺🇸 Johnny Dollar (pilot) Sam Spade Nick Charles Philo Vance Richard Diamond. we looked this up last year when first Mr H. played the pilot of Johnny $ . 👨 🔫 M. Illinois.

Never knew Mr. Powell played Johnny Dollar at one time. Great find. Thanks for sharing. Different premise then.

He did this one unaired audition ep so technically he doesn't count in the formal list of Johnny Dollar leads.

These are good. Thank you But…. I still love Bob Bailey’s portrayal. You just can’t beat him. Mandel Kramer is number two. Thank you for the early episodes and how the character evolved with each actor.

Really enjoyed getting to hear the very first few episodes of my favorite otr show, Johnny Dollar! Not a fan of the trial sign offs, but hey, they had to start somewhere in developing the character right? My husband kept coming in and interrupting my listening pleasure to tell me about some idiotic tv show he was watching...I so don't wish to live in the present, but prefer these wonderful stories you provide us with. Amazed that such early recordings are still around for us. Grateful to you for bringing them to us. Thank you!

I listened and liked the shows. Dick Powell is Richard Diamond and great at it. He is not Johnny Dollar. Lol!! Only one Bob Bailey!! If I’d known Bob ( Bring from Ohio as I am) I’d called him Johnny, he became the part so well. Still great listening!
