Terrifying footage captures the moment a youth on a bike pulls a large knife on a motorist in broad during the middle of the day. The footage shows two men exiting a black Volkswagen in Streatham, London, on October 18 before an argument occurs with two youths on bicycles in the middle of the road and one of the cyclists pulls out a large knife. The incident follows the release of new figures showing that the number of murders in the UK has soared by 14 per cent and knife crime by 12 per cent.

The man who intervened looks like he was walking with his son maybe or girlfriend in the beginning, you can see he calmly told them to stay where they were whilst he sorted out the situation. Did he know any of them ? Who knows, either way he deserves a lot of respect. He basically distinguished it from escalating. Props

There is, but in certain neighbourhoods and upbringings it doesn't feel like it. And when your only examples growing up are bad, that makes it harder too. What's needed is early intervention, leisure facilities where kids can get away from the streets and therapy. All of which have shrunk due to austerity cuts. The problem is a lot more then just "men playing gangsta"

It wasn't just a random motorist, the 2 guys came out of the car together ( which was blocking traffic in the middle of a turn ), and immediately went after the guys that were out of the camera's view then, with the intention to at least confront them, but they got more than they bargained for. This is clearly a petty teenage gangs feud, these guys are so amateur, they didn't even cover their faces, while brandishing the knives, and had something happened there, they would all be caught in the very same day.

A lot of people talkin on here will never understand or know what its like for these youths growing up loosing friends getting attacked, knife point robberies they carry knives because there scared for there life. If that guy didnt have a knife he probably would of got stabbed n left to die.

Most of the stabbings happening now, especially with young people, are gang related. Either the victim or the guy who does it are most likely in a gang. A lot of the kids in gangs are influenced highly by the glamourised lifestyle. & that glamourised lifestyle is mostly glamourised through music. Anyone who underestimates the power of music is stupid and has their eyes shut.
