I was excited to see this brand come to cult beauty but then when it arrived I was so shocked to see how expensive it is! I don’t think the brand is worth the hype, I think without Hyram it wouldn’t be big
I’m glad you talked about that face oil. It’s the one I’ve mentioned to you before. Everywhere I tried it minus my arms and legs I broke out horribly and I have super dry skin. Broke out on my chest, neck, face you name it. It’s not pretty and it’s painful. Idk what is in this oil but even my super dry skin hates it.
I went to cut into my breakfast waffle this morning and because of Rob, I'll never hear the term "cut the waffle" again without thinking of Mad About Skin..lol
i'm not a fan of high priced products that don't support the price with innovation or beautiful ingredients. But I love the name of this brand and their packaging. It does seem like they add a lot of "interesting" botanicals that make their products seem worth the high price point... but I think the basic actives are doing most of the work. I have family members who I have tried to come up with skincare routines, but they still want to use just a couple of high priced products, thinking the more they pay, the better the product.🤨 I will be ordering them the MAS products!!
I use the dream mask as my nighttime moisturizer and it's been lasting me months. I use the Air Whip moisturizer during the day, it layers perfectly under sunscreen. The Adaptogen cream is super hydrating, I like using it with my retinol. I was sent the Vitamin C serum before it was released to write a review. And I LOVE the serum and I just emptied it but I would NEVER spend $70 on it. I let them know that the product was beautifully formulated but not for the price.
I had a similar experience with the cleanser. I have combo oily acne-prone skin and it makes my face feel tight and stripped after I use it. My brother stared using it and he likes it for his extremely oily skin, but it was not a match for me.
Hey!! I love your videos and i LOVE being part of the facebook group! But i just wanted to mention something! The super glow overnight mask is HUGE in my opinion! I have the mini travel size and was able to get over 4 uses out of it! So the bug tub i can imagine you would get much much more. I just wanted to mention that for anyone interested in purchasing it!
I was going to try them until I saw the price! Like Face Theory and going to try Geek & Gorgeous next (both thanks to you) thanks for a great review as always Rob so so informative xxx
I know what you mean the price point is a little bit of an issue but I hope you love geek and gorgeous and face theory as much as I do... sending you lots of Love xxxx
@@MadAboutSkin right back at you! Love your channel, I subscribed this time last year I think and have been loyal supporter of MAS ever since! Can’t wait for the launch of your brand 😁 x
The cleanser is perfect for my oily skin in the summer! I do find it. But drying in other months. But I have found that the cleanser keeps my pores clean so less breakouts. So I make sure to add hydration after.
I love your full brand reviews videos, Rob. Thank you for such honest and quality content. ❤ I won't be purchasing YTTP, but I love to hear your opinion.
You can also find them in Sephora. I got the Air Whip moisturiser and it is... decent. My T-zone isn't too shiny after using it and it sinks well into the skin. The price doesn't reflect the quality. I mean, it' nice but not *that* nice. Currently looking for a replacement once I empty it. Got a Vichy 89 minéral and I'm looking for something to layer on top, to lock in the moisture. Problem is, anything a bit on the thicker side breaks me out 😆 Oh, the joys of combination skin...
yay! great video as always! I love their superfood cleanser during the summer and always recommend it to oily skin types! :) it is a pretty penny, but I just say if you wanna try it and don't mind spending the cash totally try it!
Omggg had nooo idea YTTP was that expensive 😱 but I know Hyram loves this brand! would love love to know your thoughts about the Beauty Bay line and ELF! Happy Friday hun, finally the weekend woop woop🙌 xxxxxx Also your shirt is amazing, loving the polka dot vibes 😆
@@chris1412 I’ve only ever seen a few products reviewed by skincare youtubers and they only review the fragrance free products. I don’t mind a little fragrance, so I’d like to know about the other products! Good Friday to you too xx
I hate to say it, but I've always wondered if Hyram has some kind of deal with YTTP. He always talks up the brand, but he usually discourages paying for overpriced products with misleading/shady marketing strategies, so it's odd to me how he forgives and ignores YTTP's transgressions.
I am super late for this video but I am so surprised about the cleanser review + comments! I have been using the cleanser for some time now and it makes my skin soft, fresh and glowy! I have very dry and sensitive skin but I have never experienced dryness or tiring from it. In fact, it is the most reliable product in my routine. Perhaps they reformulated it? Idk 🤷🏻♀️
Omgosh. I have oily/combo skin and I wasn't sure if the cleanser was what was drying me out. I tried it today after not using it for a bit over a week and my skin feels dry again. I'm glad I bought the small bottle.
Thanks Rob! Have never used them though I have heard their name. It’s hard to trust a brand when some products are very poorly formulated or massively overpriced ... that toner sounds great though. Have a great weekend 🌷😊💕☘️☘️!!!
I had no idea that the cleanser was so drying. It seemed like the cleanser to try. I could be wrong, but a few of the products seem to be like rael, except rael is much less expensive. I have rael waiting for me to try and am soooo excited.
I had the cleanser, the superfood air whip moisturizer, adaptogen deep mousturizer and eye dream cream and I only liked the air whip one and eye dream cream, but there are really expensive, so Definitely not for me. The only products a littler pricy that I pay for are from Paulas Choice because they are very effective
I had to return a foundation to Sephora yesterday, so I had credit to use in-store. Wandered around for half an hour trying to find something to buy. Finally asked the girl what ppl love for dry skin and lines. She recommended the Youth to the People toner. I was like...really? I've been wanted to try something with lactic acid, and I only had to "pay" $3 due to my in-store credit. Anyways...used it last night with my normal moisturizer and today...OMG. My skin looks and feels amazing! I've tried lots of products over the years and I'm super impressed with this! Only going to use it 2x a week and see how it goes, but so far so good! I was wondering about the rest of the line since I apparently love this. Thanks for the review!
YTTP: I do love the superberry mask. It is a sleep mask so I can't believe it only lasts you 4 uses, Rob. You must sleep like a dead person because mine would be all over the pillow. I love the texture of it. It is unlike anything else I've used. I do like their older clay mask (they just released a new one). It definitely has a "bougie" smell. I like the superberry oil on the nights I use tretinoin. Since I've been using it instead of slugging, my face feels less dry and more glowy the next day. Have a great one!
I love the mask but I gasp when he said 4 applications. It is so emollient that you don’t need a lot so although it is a pricey it lasts. I’m still on the same jar from 9 months ago. I use it everyday and using it more during these colder months
Great review, I know why I love to watch this channel (and definitely not the other channel mentioned in the beginning of the video, I do not understand its success 😂) I am not a fan of paying for packaging and Social Media overhype so this brand is not a ding ding ding for me. 😅
Good thing is they do offer sample kits with 2 products in each. I've tried a lot of their products(not the full size bc I'm not rich lol) my favorites are the cleanser and the Yerba mate facial which is amazing, I thought the super dream mask was alright. I didn't like the toner it left me sticky(it works good but I can't stand the feel of it). I got the caffeine serum to use under my eyes👀🤭
Happy Friday! I bought the cleanser when it first came out. It definitely dried me out so I never tried any of their other products. I have been so tempted to try the mask everyone is liking. I'm just not sure it's worth the money!
Their adaptogen moisturiser is my favourite moisturiser I have ever used. It makes my skin feel way more hydrated than anything else I’ve tried. I’ve only bought it once and though I absolutely love it, I don’t want to pay that much so now I use ELF. I was sent that caffeine serum from them for free. It has a nice texture and maybe I should’ve done a before and after pic but I don’t notice or feel a difference from it. I personally don’t like the vitamin C mask. I cannot stand the smell of it and I actually don’t find it hydrating enough for me. Their cleanser does feel nice but it sometimes would feel a little drying for me but not all of the time. I’ve tried their other serum and it felt nice but I also don’t know if it made a difference because my skin didn’t change when I went off it. Their mist feels nice and has a very nice spray nozzle but I decided I don’t like mists because I feel like I waste product. I did like their eye cream. I liked the consistency and it felt sooo moisturising. Their superfood moisturiser did not always feel like enough hydration for me though I think it would probably be nice on oilier skins. Great texture though Their face oil also broke me out and I did get some cystic acne from it. It also irritates my mum’s skin but it works great for my dad. I think that’s all of what I’ve tried. I do love what the company stands for and I love supporting smaller vegan brands, but I won’t purchase anymore because it’s so expensive. I may though get the adaptogen moisturiser in the future because it’s so nice but I don’t know with the price.
These are the ONLY moisturizers that work for my COMBINATION type skin 😩 my acne prone T-zone and scaley dry cheeks LOVE love them!!! They are totally worth the hype, but unfortunately expensive 😓
I actually love the cleanser but it’s too expensive for me to buy again. And their other items are interesting but also just... expensive. I love their brand marketing though. Stellar.
Great video Rob! I bought the cleanser per Hyram's recommendation (I love Hyram!) and I agree- it leaves my skin dry. I have improvised and only use it as my second cleanser on top of my cleansing oil follow by a hydrating toner. However, I will not repurchase. I totally agree this brand it's very expensive. I will continue to save my coins and will purchase your line on August 10th :). Sending you lots of love. xxxx
I still don't understand why the same Influencers that ditch St. Yves for having facial scrubs, can adore YTP and their (in mi opinion) super harsh microdermabrasion facial thing. I mean, I rather use the St. Yves Oat one, don't get red patches and dry flakes all over and I will even save 37 pounds.
I truly love the cleanser! I hated the price and keep stepping away, but always come back to it. Combo skin here. It is the only cleanser that doesn't just not irritate my skin, it actually calms my skin down in a way the two dozen others I have tried. The super good air whipped moisturizer is beautiful with how it dries down very matte and is perfect for my skin, and I live in a coastal Southern California town. But I don't like the price, and I do question the efficacy of the ingredients as many fall after phenoxyethanol. But it's the perfect summer moisturizer for me. Gah!
I was also excited for the YTTP Cleanser but thought it was stripping and drying. And I also have oily skin! I also wasn't a fan of the grass smell and I didn't feel safe with the glass in my shower.
I want to try their masks, but I felt the same way about the cleanser... I already have dry skin so it REALLY dried me out lol. It also smelled weird to me 🤷🏻♀️ Oh- and when I had it set on my bathroom sink, people kept thinking it was hand soap damnit! 😅😵
Youth to the People, for some reason, never made me want to buy it 😄 You know one of those brands that seem very slick, a bit too overpriced, and not all that transparent about their alleged products' benefits? I'd say your review more or less confirms that 😉 Thanks Rob!
Never a brand that's grabbed me & that's before we even get to the price. My interest perked at the Vit C & Caffeine but def not at that price. Plant based coffee 😂, l feel these outrageous marketing claims cheapen products.
I travel quite a bit and I have found products work differently depending on the region, water, food etc. I think this brand is so tied to Cali and its specific climate that it's difficult to judge the performance. I really like some creams but when I moved to Montreal I needed a whole new skincare routine. When I lived in Europe I loved Kerasatse for my hair yet it did very little for me in Canada. I do think they're overpriced, but I find it's so hard to find clean products in USA and it's so full of garbage that people just want to support a company that is honest. Kind of like the French charge an arm and a leg for Chanel and I hate that brand; talk about overhyped.
Had to miss the premiere, due to a work call. I’ve tried a things from YTTP, and I wasn’t that impressed. They were just okay. The cleanser was a no to me. Nothing special for $40. It’s a pass for me 😊 Looking forward to the live tomorrow!!
If I was already put off by the price point, now I’m just sure that this brand isn’t worth it The masks look interesting but even then, at that price point AND for that tiny amount... 🙄
