Almost all men I’ve met use bar soap or body wash for everything and that’s it for their skin care. The ones that shave get exfoliation from that I guess. Cringe. Btw you have a nice accent.
@@abcefg4504 Thank you - it is German. And I have met a few men that do pay a lot of attention to their skincare. Many can be found on here and have channels. But I agree with you that it seems to be more common in women.
Ok, but why spent that much on a simple cleanser that doesn't even have particularly exciting active ingredients? I mean, you can get a mild cleanser from a drugstore housebrand for a tenth of that price. Either scent free or with a scent, most men wouldn't run screaming from, either. And I'd think that especially someone not into skincare, would be aghast at their significant other spending so much on a face wash for them. I'd like to see his reaction/review of the cleanser first totally objective...and then after he finds out, what it costs 😂. So yeah, get him in front of that camera!
He has been with me long enough to not be surprised I guess, but I have not yet told him what the cleanser would cost - we stopped talking about these things when, at the very beginning, he genuinely was shocked I bought a red lipstick because, and I quote "You already own one!" My money, my business - I have no idea how much his newest flashlight cost either. But you are right, if he had a say, it wouldn't be more than 5 bucks. I actually bought the cleanser for myself, I never thought he would agree to use facial skincare. But I do love my creams and oils, the texture isn't really for me.
@@DoctorAnne Well, obviously it's your business what you spent on your own skincare and such. I only remarked upon it, because things like groceries and basic hygiene articles are usually paid for from a joint account in most households. And in that case it would be his business as well, of course. Or otherwise, if one gifts an article like that, the person would then have to repurchase it from their private money, if they liked it. So either they would have to spend more money than they deem appropriate for it every couple weeks or go without a product, they now know and love. It would just seem more sensible to me, to find them something better than regular shower gel, that's also in a more moderate price range, so they will actually continue using it.
@@DoctorAnne Haha I love that German attitude Dr Anne. Btw. how does it work in families in Germany? Once they get married do both spouses put their salary in one account or do people have separate ones?
@@DavidTranAnh That depends on the individual I guess. We have a shared account for family expenses, but also an individual one where our salary are directed to and that we use for individual spending and stuff. We do both work full time though, it is probably different if one person decides to stay home with the kids. I know several different versions in my circle of friends.
@@DoctorAnne my interests have shifted from skincare to room decor. I just don’t really want any products on the market. I was definitely stress shopping for skincare a lot. Now I just stress shop for lamps and plants… For me, as long as they use SPF and treat any pathologies. Shampoo can be fine on the skin if it isn’t making it dry and rough IMO. Anti-dandruff shampoos might even help with acne from their anti-inflammatory effects. And for a further step: retinoids. For the sake of maintaining skin function and health with age. The skin has purposes other than looking pretty
@@DoctorAnne oh same, all my plants die usually unless they are cacti or aloe Vera: those are immortal. I am pretty sure I killed my aloe Vera a few times and it came back to life. It has been very brown and squishy, brown and dried up, but then it goes green again. My new plants are called “easy care” but they are like little trees - I know one is a ficus ginseng - so I hope they will stay living
@@moose8762 I used to have a lot of luck with orchids - it seems the more I ignored them, the better they did. But this summer killed them. Too much sunlight I guess.
