Creators I am really digging right now:

Have you ever been captivated by a simple tale? That's what struck me about today's RU-vid creators-they're not relying on over-the-top editing, but storytelling. It's not about bombarding viewers with facts; it's about the journey, the personal twists and nuances that make their content sing. Inspired by Rick Rubin's "The Creative Act: A Way of Being," I've had an epiphany about content creation. Let's talk about the pressures of delivering value-packed content and how a shift to authenticity can not only change our work but also how we connect with our audience on a deeper level.
During this episode, I open up about my own struggles to follow a formula that didn't fit me. I discuss how I admired content creators who seemed to effortlessly engage their audience by simply sharing their stories. And, as I peel back the layers on my content creation process, I reveal how I've made a pivot, turning away from a prescriptive approach to embrace my unique voice and experiences. If you're curious about how letting go of conventional wisdom can reignite your passion and perhaps lead to more impactful content, then this conversation is tailor-made for you. Let's explore together the transformative power of narrative in content creation.

Big E was saying something very similar. That viewers just want to see a story told

My most viewed video is a random video I made about quitting weed lol. Just a personal story that seemed to connect with people. I think fact-based videos are great, but there has to be a reason other than the facts that the audience is watching the video.

That’s the perfect case study. I find myself thinking “who is going to care” but then RU-vid shows us that somebody will

Life is an anecdotal cautionary tale Anyone who embraces that fact or theory.. is powerful beyond measure It's probably why we love stories.. because closure is not a natural part life, but it gives us something which to apply meaning. Without meaning... then what?

Anecdotal cautionary tale I love that. Why haven’t I heard that before??

@@RaylenDavis You're the first I've ever shared it with, Raylen. I found it fitting for this video. It's just one of my philosophies of life

Yo dude! Love the video. I feel a lot of the same pains. I would spend dozens of hours editing a video only to have it flop. I've switched up my style a bit, finding it much more enjoyable to create these days (although I'm still looking to simplify further). On the storytelling front, I was wondering if you've checked out Storyworthy by Matthew Dicks? It's an unreal book on storytelling. Could be helpful? Who knows.

I really enjoy your message. I am a new content creator, and I have been resisting the urge to niche down, which is the message everywhere. I want to create content that I enjoy, and will continue to enjoy making. So, your message relieves a lot of stress. Keep talking bro!

Yeah I think we all been there. And listen some people do really well niching down and talking about just one thing all the time. Tons of examples of people who that works for. There’s another theory which is the one I’m testing now, which is we are the niche. We can post what interests us and the right people will find it and like it. It’s working for me and I hope it works for you too!

@@RaylenDavis makes it easier to make videos without all the fancy editing. So that's good. Just a lot of talking head and new creators popping up.

Hey Reylen. This guy : www.youtube.com/@joeythegypsy Exactly what you just said. Not that i am homeless or i am looking for some specific information, it's simply a ,, joy '' or a comfort to have someone speaking in your ears while working whole day (not so lonely this way (?)) Guy is also in his 40s i guess. Got some great stories. Authentic. And zero editing. Also as you mentioned, - the environment. In his car, somewhere out. Feels relaxing. As i am working already all day long from PC in my room, seeing you in your room hits different than seeing somewhere chilling out in their car (that they live in). But again, all of it depends on your target audience. Just brain storming ideas, maybe, just maybe there's something useful for you in it.
