Honestly we’re literally doing the opposite of some of these things! Still valuable. We just started uploading over hour long vlogs (trailers and all) and the watch time is UP UP UP…FINALLY, and they’ve gotten the most views 🥴 Over 40 content is hitting right now! Sidenote: we love editing!

Hiring a editor is the best move you can make because I’ve spent hours and hours recording and editing videos on top of working 12 hour shifts. I still edit most of my videos because it does get very expensive when you don’t make any money from RU-vid.

Even though YT is not bowling, there are common denominators: A. Getting to the top level only looks easy. B. What works under some conditions doesn’t work on others. C. Conditions change constantly, the top players are able to adjust and adjust quicker than their lower level counterparts. D. It’s easy to get discouraged. However just like bowling, the top players have been at it for years and it’s a long road with a lot of bumps and bruises along the way. E. It’s easy to get a break now and then but the consistent players know why they are getting the good results, the lower level players don’t.

To be honest I see a new one changing: regular hooks - since too many use them, they are getting less effective. Give the people a value hook and they stay. Use an outdated hook and they are annoyed and leave.

I'm not a content creator and I can tell RU-vid changed. RU-vid is no longer recommending me the new videos of channels I'm subscribe to, or even from channel that have content relevant to me, I have to look for this videos by myself.

She's so right about cold emailing RU-vidrs to promote your editing. I have only received 2 emails from editors and both were terrible one sentence outreaches. The bar is set really low if you want to get editing jobs. I would love to get good emails from good editors.

Great video! I focus on getting to the point I don’t do intro because name and niche is on banner. People want to see what the title is about in beginning not 5 min later and if like me they stay and watch. Monetized in April now close to 13,000 in affilate sales from March and April. There has been a NEW RU-vid CEO since February 2023 last year, this means NEW RULES that RU-vidrs need to follow to grow on RU-vid. In February 2023, Susan Wojcicki stepped down as the RU-vid CEO. Then shortly afterwards still in 2023, Neal Mohan became the new RU-vid CEO.

My approach will doing a workshop of helping someone in front of an audience in real time and interviewing testimonials of how they applied my steps going struggle to success. I will do a demonstration approach rather than just use my own words using more action for all to see. Proof

One thing that I find, extremely, annoying comes from viewing as a creator. There are too many videos out there that should be titled "I talk about nothing for 20 minutes before I give you what you clicked for" or "I could have made a 3 minute video, but it takes me 20 minutes to get there." The length of the video doesn't matter much, to me, but 30 seconds is my bench mark. If you're rambling about nothing at that point, I'm gone.

To niche or not to niche and I would also add quantity vs quality. I think everyone is gonna fall into an industry or niche but then the key is to break that down into sub topics. And for quality vs quantity it's both. Repurposing content is the unlock for being able to do long form and short form. And now sites like Opus Clip and Munch can do it for you.

Just throw around the "value"word. A real story has value in its essence or perhaps there's no value to a story at all. But to say this or that has "no value"... Is not valuable when you don't clearly define what you mean by value. A trailer might be the magic that makes something work. Some introduction is actually a welcome thing. So define value clearly or stop saying it every 5 seconds

Hey ....I'll be making a new channel soon. I can edit( not the best ...more cut up and animation/giphy add ), but tbh I'd rather create. I don't need a script. It's in my brain. I clinically almost died twice. I lost my colon. I rebuilt my body from 122 lbs to 217 lbs ( no steroids ). I also got two college degrees. My point is I'm benching 300lbs and know the science with what is called ," An ileostomy." Even doctors told me I'd never train again it was laughable etc. My point 👉 is brand deals and entering health and fitness ( not steroids and drama - most of that is considered health and fitness on RU-vid), true relatable health and fitness to average ppl not on copius amounts of steroids. I could make a few reaction vids to top creators....but that's what I'm aiming for. Cinematic footage....really showing that grit and creating emotion and connecting to those who have been through it...mentally or physically...I've been there. If you think that's a good fit, feel free to reply. Gear I will be using ( I talked to Nick power and strength for a few minutes ...he's got 1 million subs, but is doing a Pokémon channel, as he's getting tired of doing steroid reaction vids , )..... He uses Joe Rogans mic. $300 ( I'm going to get that mic ) I have Sony Zv-e10 Lens ( kit lens or 16mm f1.4 ) Lighting used by think media ( I have it but it's in a box, 1 soft box only though). Samsung 24 ultra Ring light I'm writing these down so you know how the innate or lack there of , quality would be. For example, Sony is good low light. Problem, its shutter speed is slow = rolling shutter or layman's terms .....shaky. There is a browser called catalyst browse that will make that shaky look tripod esk. However, it can take 1-2 minutes per 1 minute of video. I'm just laying out the cards there and didn't mean to be so direct per se. At any reply if interested and I can send a message when ready or if you have some editing to show related to the aforementioned AKA if it's a good fit. All the best.
