That is the part this is serialized. In California, the frame/receiver needs to have 10oz of metal in order to be serialized legally. TLDR it’s impractical and the gun in the Vice vid is illegal

RU-vid didn't tell him the reason, he appealed, his appeal was rejected "for the last time" that he couldn't appeal anymore, but many big RU-vidrs like LTT supported him on Twitter so RU-vid unbanned his channel, despite the ban being "permanent". They reconsider bans only when the RU-vidr they banned is popular enough or has enough support from other RU-vidrs to create a public opinion against them.

I mean, theres nothing wrong with having small or niche communities on the internet. Most of the platforms that get big usually seem to get equally worse so it might actually be a good thing.

@@highbread817 I got a removal at first and there was an appeal option so I tried to appeal and explained how I was following the law and everything and they denied my appeal and escalated it to a strike. Nowhere in the removal email did it say if the appeal was denied they would make it a strike but apparently this is common practice yet they give you no warning of it. So be warned to any up and coming channels out there if you get a removal it's probably best to not appeal it.

Machine learning is necessary for any amount of accuracy in automatic captions. Accessibility options can and do exist on other platforms without censorship. Accusing accessibility of being the issue is extremely naïve. RU-vid has been owned by Google since 2006. Captions in 2014 was not the start of selective censorship.

Well that's exactly what they want. They know that anyone who uses Linux or in general is against their spookiness won't be using their software no matter what they do. So they want to isolate that audience, drive us to other websites, to make us seem like insane conspiracy theorists. They couldn't care less if there are a few people who don't use their products, as long as the majority does. They just want to keep the average person in the Google ecosystem, and make sure they don't ever stumble upon this kind of content.

Sounds like the justice system in my country. We have the law but the judges can decide whatever they want by interpreting the texts the way they want.
What's also depressing is no matter where you go, those alternatives may also become corrupted, or crushed under bigger brands. As time goes, there's less room for certain content that others find problematic.
Content creators just need to become more flexible in where they distribute content, I see no reason why they cant upload to multiple platforms and easily just pull out of platforms that become too egregious. The important thing is that people shouldn't give in. If we all say "no point in trying, the overlords have won" we have allowed ourselves to be defeated by giving up hope.

One can even use a RU-vid channel to vicariously promote other platforms whilst still uploading content to it; better yet, make it so that new content is always published earlier in alternative platforms and release it on RU-vid later. Now their crypto is worth only a small portion of what it was, so the main way to earn that is getting tipped by the audience, doesn't generate money much anymore. But many people showed that they made more from 10% of the subcount that they had on RU-vid. I have faith that these things will be solved and RU-vid's dominance will be lost.
I remember when they decided to demonetize all small content creators using Elsagate as an excuse, just because they wanted to cheap out on manual human content review. 2000 subs and 1000 watch hours, basically pushing content mills that pump out low effort shit while cutting off channels that spend time to produce real quality work.

they still do that. A channel I follow just got monetize struck by RU-vid for literally no reason. The entire channel (Rapida OW) just makes gaming compilation videos with custom transitions (that they themselves make) and all the players who send in clips agree to the terms. Yet RU-vid just demonetized their entire channel for no reason and they seemingly refuse to even look into the situation. The channel has over 600 uploads and has existed for years. An entire channel, with multiple editors etc, just thrown under the bus overnight. It's honestly heartbreaking that companies are allowed to get away with this fraudulent bullshit. They should be held accountable in court for these schemes that downright abuse smaller creators and indie channels by straight up removing someone's livelihood with no warning nor justification, or even a desire to fairly assess their own actions. People don't know this or spread this information but you are legally allowed to sue youtube for unrightfully terminating your account/banning you. (I'm not sure about strikes). Even if you don't intend to sue them, having a lawyer send them a letter at least threatening legal action generally makes them talk to you.

I had a video of my ferret a few years ago when he was still alive swimming through my rug. Was adorable. It got restricted 18+ and demonitised, I appealed and it got rejected. Someone claimed me for royalty free music during a stream. I had my channel deleted after disputing it the first time. After finally getting my channel back didn't even get an apology. I have gotten plenty more bullshit happen to me before and since then. If you speak back they'll backhand you like a dirty ho bag, my advice is don't speak back unless you've got a good following on another platform to bombard them with shit for when their system fails you.
I have not seen many of Luke Smith's videos, only about 2 to 3. But whenever he used "majeet" he used it to refer to people working in call centers or low-level programmers.
I can add to your concern with RU-vid. I have two channels. One is computers, mostly Linux and computers in general, and religious, but all the videos are blurry, when the originals are clear and sharp on a fifty four inch screen. Got strikes on my channel as well, even though the warning wasn't deserved and I gave them proof it wasn't breaking guidelines, still got it and had to sit it out, switching to Odysee now since I'm sick of this platform

Phillip DeFranco is a news channel too but he has to break up his stories into the ones that RU-vid won't flag and then take the ones that RU-vid flags and put them in a separate video so if there's a problem at least it won't affect the main video. Although I'm subbed to tech, programming and linux channels in general, the only suggestions I get from RU-vid are shit music, pop culture content creators and bait titled channels. So they shit on their own users preferences as well. You're not alone.
fun fact: I once got a strike for uploading a video where I said RU-vid is an unreliable site that exploits their monopoly and told people to go download their old youtube videos to make sure they're backed up "Harmful scams and deceptive practices", it said OF COURSE my appeal was rejected and they are still harassing and notifying me about it like 3 years later :)
RU-vid has an intentionally strange and harsh demonetization policy because it earns them more money, finding every chance to divert less revenue to creators is the easiest way to increase profits. On top of this, RU-vid pursues a policy of playing advertisements on already "demonetized" videos in order to counter the fact that videos they don't play advertisements don't make any money for RU-vid. - This is a steady trend RU-vid has pursued over the past few years and is why RU-vid isn't freaking out over the mass demonetization happening everywhere on RU-vid.

Been watching RU-vid since late 05 or early 2006 and in 2022 I feel like not touching this site at all for a whole year. also is seems like in 2022 every RU-vid channel feels like its dying. for example channel sub counts are not matching views . the views on video all seem very low compared to their sub counts.
