What's really sad about the "are you sure" guy is a few months earlier he was perfectly normal, he had a construction job, he had a home, he was working for a living and was a normal citizen according to everyone who knew him. @mochabearry Main takeaway from the story. 1. Do not let your young children watch hellish, violent, torture-porn and horror movies like the SAW, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, and Jason Voorhees franchises, etc. 2. Shield your children from all violent movies in general. 3. Choose your spouse wisely, make a commitment and stick to it. (Provided they're a quality person.) 4. Do not let your child have unfettered, unfiltered access to the internet on any device. 5. Your child shouldn't be spending anytime on a iMac or similar devices. Go outside or read a book and learn something that doesn't include a screen.

The thing that has always bothered me about the deranged man talking to himself while knocking on the lady's door, is that the man had already turned to leave, was indeed leaving, and was even closer to the road than he was the house, when the "hero husband" thought it would be a good idea to then CALL HIM BACK TO THE HOUSE, using an aggravated, aggressive, escalating tone of voice, even though HE'S NOT EVEN THERE TO BACK IT UP!! All he accomplished by antagonizing him further, was an ESCALATION of the already terrifying scenario, and he did so even though he wasn't physically there to defend his wife. Look folks, I know it's tempting to engage a person like this, ESPECIALLY if you're doing so to protect your home and loved ones, and had this psycho STILL BEEN LOCATED RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR, I would have done the same type of thing. HOWEVER, IF THE THREAT IS LEAVING, THEY ARE WALKING AWAY, THERE IS NO NEED TO RE-ENGAGE THE PSYCHO, JUST LET THE PERSON LEAVE!! Especially if you aren't even there to back up your big, bad, manly tone of voice....
@Fairysnacks
@Fairysnacks 10 месяцев назад
I know! The husband may have wanted to protect his wife, or maybe he just wanted to assert dominance, but I don’t think he knows how much worse he made the situation. I can’t even meatiness the fear and anger the woman felt during that second interaction.

sometimes a mental hospital is necessary, good treatments are largely nonexistent or unavailable at a reasonable price. different treatments affect people in unpredictable ways. my family is fairly well off so I've had access to any treatment insurance would cover + a little extra. the things that helped me most were IV ketamine and MDMA assisted talk therapy. case and point ketamine is expensive even after insurance and MDMA is illegal.@@Sewerrat238

this is a good time to point out that “a tornado is coming your way if it looks like it’s not moving” is kind of a myth. it can be coming right at you even if you see it moving and it could completely miss you even if you can’t see it moving. there’s still so little known about tornadoes just because there hasn’t been a way to safely track a tornado’s speed at all times. that’s why the EF rating is based on the destruction the tornado does instead of its speed

Two things. First, the medications used to control/manage Psychosis/Schizophrenia often have debilitating and profoundly-negative side effects. Thankfully, there are newer medications that tend to result in less side effects, but these side effects can still be - highly - unpleasant. This is one of the reasons people suffering from Psychosis/Schizophrenia stop taking their medication. Second, Psychosis/Schizophrenia is one of the Mental Health issues whose symptoms can include "Poor Insight." This means that patients/clients may be unaware that they have these issues, and this lack of awareness can be variable, getting worse and getting better, sometimes for even a few hours. "Poor Insight" tends to be multi-factored, meaning that it can affect perception of negative events (such as attacking someone), short and long term memory, minimizing negative events after the fact, and even can involve outright deception where clients/patients hide symptoms from providers. The real problem is that the US has flat-out - abysmal - Mental Health care systems. Patients with severe Mental Health issues REQUIRE Case Management, often close supervision, and multiple different kinds of provider types (Doctor, therapist, social workers, etc.) However, what tends to happen is that clients/patients end up in the Psych Ward where their goal is to "stabilize" the patient. Stabilizing patients often means drugging them up with the most powerful medications they have in doses that are beyond therapeutically necessary - which results in a nice quiet unit where paperwork for the staff is minimized. However, this is the surest way to experience those profoundly negative side effects, amplifying them, even creating new side effects. This causes the patients to stop taking the medications as soon as they are clear of the hospital, which will bring them in contact with the cops, and then the patient has more criminal charges, and where they are dropped off at the Psych Ward to Stabilize the patient.......rinse and repeat. The above also tends to cause the patient to get progressively more frustrated, understandably so, often making their interactions with others progressively more problematic (from the general public to law enforcement to providers). IF we had a sensible, forward thinking, long term treatment and management solutions, most of the even severely Mentally Ill can live in society without major issues. But we don't do that..... :-( .

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS. SERIOUSLY. THANK YOU SO MUCH. myself, my partner, and a lot of my friends are schizophrenic (among other things, and to differing extents). my best friend is chronically homeless now because he was so seriously traumatized by being sent involuntarily sent to two different residential treatment centers (if you're reading this and you dont know about it ,look up "breaking code silence", they very literally brainwash you- and i am not saying that lightly nor hyperbolically. they physically, mentally, and sexually abuse people, it ruins lives. they are FUCKING HORRIBLE, and other types of mental health units are not much better, especially state hospitals where ppl who are sentenced to get mental health treatment instead of/in addition to jail time are often forced to go). he has tardive dyskinesia (involuntary movements resulting from long-term anti-psychotic use, in some people) and cannot stomach living indoors to the point where he prefers living on the streets due to forced incarceration -- not saying this is a typical response, but it destroyed his life. he's never been the same. my boyfriend lives in germany, where inpatient treatment, at least from his exp, is veeeerrrry different. you can have contact with people, even use your phone, and it's apparently just. not nearly as restrictive an exp as it is in the states. my best friend is no longer on meds bc of TD and because he's managing well enough w/out them, my partner is on abilify and it causes a lot of unpleasant side effects ***DISCLAIMER*** people react differently to different meds, so if you're reading this and are anxious to look into meds for psychotic symptoms/schizo spectrum disorders, know that it's not every single med inherently. please take the time to look into the common side effects and if you end up on more than one med look into the details and safety of taking xyz meds together, sites like drugs.com and honestly wikipedia have great info, don't take every single side effect as a guarantee bc it's not always like that/doesnt always produce that extent of harm, looking into forums where ppl discuss meds and their exp can be both helpful and hurtful, but if you feel you can read on without being too heavily influenced by things and can kind of weed through and use critical thought, it can be an insightful source for what to expect and what to avoid, because there are actually decent meds/med combos out there. just do take the time to learn about what you may decide to put in your body. i take promethazine, and it works well enough for me bc my symptoms are typically minimal after getting on a proper mood stabilizer (i'm also bipolar among other things so figuring out meds that address what i need is a whole thing), and honestly i do not remember my experiences on other antipsychotics, because for so long i was literally so derealized and depersonalized i used to remark constantly that everything looked and felt like a prop in a play. it sucked. miraculously, through all of this, my psych has been really great (i am the /only/ person i know with good mental health care experience, out of my friends in the states.) she provides care and listens to me, and i dont feel the threat of needless hospitalization w her (keyword: needless, ive been *voluntarily* inpatient, short-term, twice and both exp were shitty and i was medicated out of my mind). fortunately, due to really good luck and being able to get help in affording mental health care over the years, i havent been suicidal in a long time. i used to be constantly depressed or manic, i have cptsd and resulting panic disorder so if i wasnt depressed i was anxious, if i was anxious id lose sleep, and sleep deprivation is one of the highest-risk states for me and one of the only time i exp being less-than-lucid at this point, my friends and partner are not so lucky as far as symptoms go. btw im not trying to over-explain to you in particular, wonderful person who made the above comment :) and thank you again, you seriously made my day bc i rarely if ever see someone on the same page about this and it makes me miserable to see how many people are misinformed about particularly this corner of mental health. schizophrenia/psychosis ***does not*** inherently make someone violent or harmful, im a really reserved person because of it, and my friends are docile as fuck, its brutal enough without the stigma and sensationalism. just. thank you

I’m 25 now, and I can’t live on the first floor; in addition to locking my door, I always use a portable lock whenever I’m inside; even if I know a friend/family member is coming over, I get heart palpitations when I hear a knock on my door; I keep knives on me and in every room of my apartment. Just the thought of the man at the door attempting to get in…. that’s nightmare fuel.

My house got robbed when I was a kid too. But me and my parents wernt home. When we got home tho there were cops everywhere, inside my house and there was a knife on the street. My neighbors said that they saw 3 Asians running. I used to get tutored by this Asian guy name Parker, he used to come to my house and he was a lil older. As I got older I ran into him at a pc gaming store and I can tell he was smoked out. I realized it was him and ppl he knew that robbed my house. He ended up getting stabbed and ended up in the hospital. (Not by me). He lived.

As a man, I am also very unsettled by this. I spent 2 years living on the first floor in a small neighbourhood and I always had the feeling that someone's watching from the streets, so I left my blinds down all the time and opened my window rarely and just for short periods until the air refreshed. Idk, may be it's because I had been living my whole life up until then on the 5th or 6th floor, but the paranoya was real and it's because of crasies like that guy...

As someone who was once homeless (In Calgary), and also had encounters with the homeless in Vancouver, I imagine the guy in the second part was under the influence of fentanyl. One clear cut example I have is, while I was having a cigarette outside of our hostel - which was booked by the school, and right near Vancouver's most infamous streets... and Gastown... is a man that approached us talking to us about how you can't trust the government, and that he was looking for his daughter, who he figured was being hidden from him. Guess how he ended that encounter? He stated clearly that he was going to go across the street and take fentanyl. He named the specific drug. And the largest similarity I can pull here is both a) repeating his sentences, and b) being very clear on his intentions, up to incriminating himself. I'm so glad I had the life experiences I had before this encounter, with people who knew about the circumstances more than me at the time, because if the situation was at all mishandled, broad daylight or not, this guy could have done something horrible to me and the friend that was smoking with me. That said - HINT TO EVERYONE, BUT ESPECIALLY TO A PARTICULAR COLLEGE LOCATED NEAR DRUMHELLER, ALBERTA - DO NOT! AND I REPEAT! DO NOT BOOK A BUNCH OF COLLEGE STUDENTS, SOME WHO HAVEN'T HAD ANY EXPERIENCES IN A CITY SETTING, WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF A LARGE PUBLIC VENUE - IE ROGERS PLACE AND BC PLACE (In this case). MANY TIMES, THE PUBLIC VENUES SUCH AS THIS IS WHERE THOSE WHO ARE HOMELESS GO, CAPITALISING ON THE STREET TRAFFIC. And while many of the homeless aren't inherently bad, take it from someone who has been there. The interaction to drop change in their cups is the most you should ever provide to them. Unless you understand the circumstances and the demeanors well, and that comes through heavy experience being up with them, very few can be trusted. I'm sorry to those who are in that condition who mean well, but to tell the difference between someone who means well and who is putting on an act is too tough a challenge to take the risk.

How to get away with murder: Step 1: Don't google "How to get away with murder". Not sure why it was left up to Tebebe himself to maintain med compliance after multiple violent episodes. People are saying it sounds like the second guy is having a conversation with the voices in his head -- I respectfully disagree. I believe that he was practicing what he was gonna say when she opened the door to try and get her to lower her guard before he attacked her. He was trying to practice sounding non-threatening. At least, that's what it sounded like to me. Like he intended to knock on the door and ask "may I come in?" anticipating her to respond with a "no", before he says "are you sure? I have some questions I'd like to ask you". Just my thoughts anyways. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if it were a conversation going on in his head either, but it sounded like an oddly specific thing to be repeating, especially given the context of him knocking on someone's door.

In regards to this part of the video: 12:31 As someone with bipolar disorder, I can say that that shit is real no matter what you say or do. I need my medication and I freely admit that I'm a complete mess without it. A crying, angry, depressed mess that doesn't want to feel all of those emotions at once. It's suffocating for not only me but also for my loved ones and I hate being a burden to them when I'm going through all of my "mood swings". I hate it, and I truly wish I didn't have it, but goddamn it, if the medication that you were taking before made you feel like a zombie or that you feel it isn't working after a few days or weeks of taking it, tell your doctor it isn't working and they'll be able to give you a new one that'll hopefully help! I hate having bipolar people having this tag on them as 'dangerous' all the damn time when a lot of us don't even take medication for it. I _hate_ being called names for what I can't fucking help.

@ADT2695 2 года назад
Not at all. There was no telling evidence a home invasion occurred according to forensic investigators. This also includes the story the teenager provided, which was that he presumably thwarted the burglary by either killing or making the person retreat. When a burglar is burglarizing a home, the vast majority of them are looking to subdue anyone in the home if they’re inside, thereby creating a ‘hostage situation’. Besides that, they are looking to steal item(s) of value. Sure, there can be a scenario where some resident in the home is violently dealt with and is struck, and either loses consciousness or bodily harm occurs, but burglars are usually petty criminals and murder is not a goal of theirs. I even foresaw that being dispelled while that story was still being told in this video. A burglar setting fire to a corpse and just simply taking the drastic approach of burning down the entire house only for rest of the family members to walk out of there safely just isn’t congruent with first portion of his testimony.

It doesn't help that when you get close to death and your body starts to gradually shut down your some things can happen. Your breathing can drastically slow and become shallower, blood pressure can also become much lower which makes it harder to find a pulse without better medical equipment. Also body temperature can drastically drop, especially after a severe fever and/or infection. All of these can make it hard to judge if an adult is still alive, children can be much harder to tell and can rarely even trigger false alarms on equipment because the weakening signs of life become so faint. Unfortunately once a situation gets to that point the situation is usually considered to be a fatal point and even if there are minor signs of improvement after it gets to that it is usually short lived and death follows shortly after.
