Not that anybody probably noticed, but the crucial difference with the station ident as used in this situation was that it didn't include the word "Production". TSW had a similar practice, sometimes even playing their SI directly before another ITV company's frontcap. And from 1988 onwards they played it almost every junction. Thames tried that briefly in 1988. Both Thames and LWT showed an ident before imports in the mid-80s iirc. Thames' was a brief, silent still, in B&W if the film was B&W. LWT seemed to have reserved their "genesis short" variant for this purpose.
