It was worth watching just to hear "Opal Fruits made to make your mouth water" again!

Why do I feel nostalgic for a Castrol GTX advert? I miss it though!

"What's as popular as breathing!" Can't believe kellogs seriously used that line in an advert! You breath involenteraly it doesn't depend on you're life to eat corn flakes! If it had been for chocolate hob nobs they might have had a point though! Thanks for the castrol gtx advert, been looking for the wandering oil line one for ages! Not many people have got it and haven't seen it on yt for years!!!!

I guess they were trying to figure out something to rhyme with "beaten."

Redress Kyle on the cinema-esque advert for future Sheffield United sponsors Arnold Laver. Paul Lally, sadly, on the Ashley Mills, Peter Clark Autos and Goodalls Caravans adverts, and the Miss YTV Promo. Graham Roberts on the Mitchell's Practical Campers and Land Rover Centres adverts - and he's also telling us about the bit of Bully. A lot of these ads look like they're being played off Telecine.

I noticed that KFC chose to hold off on introducing the VAT...fair dues - after all, I have always thought that a _bucket_ was quite enough fried chicken! 😉

Is this definitely 1984 as I looked up a few things and things like Trio chocolates only were introduced in 1988 apparently and the toffee sweets only had that name shown in 1988.

Yes it's definitely 1984 - the advert at 15:50 is a bit of a giveaway

Yeah, Trios were going in the early 80s, they used to have a cartoon girl singing badly "TRIIIIIIIIIIIIO!!" Remember getting them for a treat in 1984 and eating them when ITV screened The Fury in 1983. They even had a The Living Daylights promotion packs in 1987. Sad that I know that. 😂

You had to be single to be Miss Yorkshire TV 1984? That’s a little seedy, no?! Why should a woman’s relationship status determine whether or not she wins the title?

I guess they were serious about the 'Miss' bit. (I really hope SAVILE didn't have anything to do with it...now that _would_ be seedy!)
