I think the whole 'transformation' gimmick could have been better handled personally. Like, get rid of that 'can't be destroyed by card effect as long as you control a Fusion monster' part and make each of their true forms a Fusion monster. Like Neos' Contact Fusion but better because you only need one card, but not too broken because they have to return to human form after the Battle Phase. Make it so each maids' true form has a different protection: One negates a single trap per turn, one cancels a monster effect per turn in exchange for going back to human form, one can't be targeted, etc.). That way the deck revolves around choosing the correct maid for each 'job', which segues nicely into the theme by making the player act as the housekeeper.
I like how Laundry has an eye open in Send-Off's artwork showing that she's still new to the job and is unsure how long she should keep her eyes closed and bowing. Love this archetype :3
that is if archetype can do any good, and until it gets good support. the deck's aesthetic are likely gonna be overshadowed on how meh the deck really is.
If my memory serves, the director of the Dragon Maid anime was well known by Konami as a YuGiOh fan. After he was killed in the Kyoani attacks, Konami released this archetype as a tribute to him.
actually, CoolKyouShinsha who wrote the Dragon Maid manga had tweeted his approval for Dragon Maid yugioh cards on June 16, 2019... BEFORE KyoAni was set on fire. So it was a tragic coincidence that the archetype came out afterwards
It would be neat if Dragonmaid archtype also added some Dragonmaid versions of iconic Yugioh dragons like Blue Eyes White Dragon and Red Eyes Black Dragon.
I can just imagine how someone at konami got caught watching the anime on his phone and their boss was like: "what are doing ?" And he just jumps and says: "i-im so sorry sir I will get back to work right away" then the boss looks at the phone his eyes just sparkle and goes like "your a fucking genius !"

@@samurexatlas7373 for a game like Yu-Gi-Oh to have been around for so long, I expect that there would be a challenge for developers to balance creativity and competitiveness. I appreciate the creative aspect, though I do agree this might not be the most top.tier compared to say Sky Striker.

Close, but people would still ask what you meant. 13:53 u is nearly never pronounced like a in german. (In english, many 'u's in english sound like 'a'. "Must" for us is pronounced "Mast". "Lust" is "lasst" and similar) It's difficult to explain though because german pronounciation flows less well and there aren't many good examples that can't be easier misunderstood. Also in case you read this: Awesome video, was fun to watch.
So, Fire Emblem's Manaketes made it into YuGiOh. Neat. "Alright, it's time to learn about the Maid profession." Oh, I can tell you all about Maids: A Second tier class promoted from Troubadours, they add ranged daggers to their weapon repertoire along with staffs. Although still a primarily support-focused class, they do exhibit more versatility, being able to debuff enemies with daggers along with healing allies using staffs. They also make effective anti-Mage units due to dagger's weapon-triangle advantage over tomes/scrolls and the class' access to the Tomebreaker skill, along with a naturally high Resistance stat.
A note about the dragonmaids' designs in their dragon forms is that, whilst they are all dragons, they all resemble different TYPES of dragons. Nudyarl bears resemblance to an eastern dragon, whilst tinkhec is closest to a traditional western style dragon. There's also how some of them have scales, whereas others have fur. Nudyarl is covered head-to-toe in fur, with Lorpar having fur along the main torso, with Tinkhec having scales across the body, whereas Ernus seems to almost be smooth-skinned, which makes sense considering her role as tending to children and ensuring everything's clean. Wouldn't want any scales or fur shedding mid-work

Quick update, in case you didn't learn: a new sixth dragonmaid has been released in the series. It's a dark attribute monster called "Chamber Dragonmaid", and its a 4 star monster. It hasn't been released here in the West, however. Just wanted to let you know.

I guess that the favorite dragonmaid of Kaiba could be Kanna Kamui, for her similarities with the Blue eyes white dragon. - Both are white dragons - Both have blue eyes - Both have lightning element.
The Maid Cafe reference was also made in the anime and is very similar once you showed the actual location. Down to the attire and how Tohru dressed in the anime as he best represents the Head maid and the kitchen one (as she's often seen in the kitchen for the most part of the anime) with Kanna being close to the Nurse, Elma possible representing the Parlor (seeing the sweet tooth aspect but not 100% sure), and that's about it as I couldn't quite connect Fafnir or Lucoa into it

Supports aside, the core of the archetype is almost good as done if "Welcome" and "Sendoff" are to be believed, we just need that one ace piece, Housekeeping's dragon form
its gonna need fo do something in terms of impact and yes they can get their switches and summons easily, but they don't do much where sky strikers can make serious work done .
@@ZenoDLC following the practice or concept is tricky since it is based on the meta and playing. take a look at ghostricks, the flipping opponents down to scare them and go back into hiding is cute. But the idea hurts the deck of being too slow and odd, while master rule 4 killed it entirely.

After seeing this video earlier I decided to get a single Mystic Fighters booster pack at Walmart and I actually got Nurse DragonMaid on my first pull! Now I'm in love with her and obsessed with getting all 5 of them

I was surprised on how much I enjoyed the Dragonmaid Archetype. I'm able to defeat most of my opponents 5 turns or less. And by opponents, I mean the CPUs from the Yu-Gi-Oh Legacy of the Duelist game.
This along with the dark magician girl are my favorite archetype videos, with that said this video really needs an update/part2 to show off the complete deck in all it’s glory

Miss kobayashi's dragon maid is one of my all time favorite animes and I freaked out learning yugioh made a deck based in that, wew I'm freaking hyped for lights true form and also for the dark dragon maid, wew, also I opened 3 boxes and no kitchen dragonmaid.... guess my wallet is gonna drain.... I love that you make these videos. This is the next deck I plan to make and I like learning things about them outside of their potential combos (which I like to figure out myself, mostly).
Well considering Kitchen Dragonmaid's artwork shows her in a kitchen preparing food and not out shopping or collecting ingredients I'd have to go with English version on this one.
