How to make player appreciate prize support. 1. Kidnap grandfathers 2. Only give the winner's grandfather back 3. ??? 4. Profit

As someone who was contracted by Konami and had to write feature matches for the Dragon Duelists as well as take their pictures for the website, I'm really sick of people complaining about them only getting Darklords as prizes. At the four YCSs I worked at, the biggest Dragon Duel tournament was 8 people. I'd say winning an 8 person tournament with cards you didn't pay for is worth the 300 dollar prize cards you get, but what's really interesting is this: the kids don't care about the prizes at all, and the ones they do care about aren't cards. They get excited about the medals, the mats, and the shirts. Because they're not buying their own cards, they don't look into the prize value. All the Dragon Duelist finals that I've seen have been super fun for both kids, and everyone went home happy. They simply do not care about "plussing" as much as adults and older teenagers, but even if they did, I'd say 300 bucks for an 8 person tournament against 14 year olds is a pretty darn good payoff. Just my two cents :)

dzeeff hey whats up? they probably want support for there decks. I used to run DDD, but the support is so lame its crazy. All The D.D, D/D, Darklord, Supreme King need to be more unified seeing how there the same archetype. but konami doesn't want to break the game unless its the top tier.

I agree wholeheartedly. Two years ago my son finished 7th at Nationals. He could've cared less about the Minerva. The thing that he cared about the most was the trophy itself. That meant the world to him.

Did you play back in the UDE era? Back in my day, prizes were things like a PS2, Xbox 360, Stereos, stuff like that. We still had the Crush Card Virus style prize cards, but we still got things of value. Don't have a Playstation Vita? Great, you could win one. Don't want it? Take it to Gamestop for a few quick bucks. Even if the prize structure doesn't get to this level again, what about fame? In Pokemon, you could win a scholarship. Yeah, that's "cash" still, but imagine going to your school one day and being interviewed about that. And people know who the MTG Circuit members are. We know of people like Jon Finkel and Kai Budde, because these are people who are in the pro tour hall of fame. Does Yugioh have anything like this? Sure, we know of people like Jeff Jones because he's an oldie, but outside of that... I couldn't tell you any events hes' won in the past. Konami doesn't really celebrate any winners like Wizards does. Wizards has a hall of fame like I mentioned, but even then they have a lifetime record on display on their website. Here magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/top-players/statistics/top-8-by-player there's the list I'm talking about. UDE use to do this. I vividly remember typing in my UDE number into their website to check my standings. It had my wins, my losses, my draws, my drops. Konami? Yeah, still nothing, and if they do have this list somewhere, it's so well hidden the normal person couldn't find it.

I don't play competitive Yu-Gi-Oh. If I want a mat with Yu-Gi-Oh characters on it, I'll make it. If I want YCS sleeves, theres some on Amazon going for $30-$40. I'm content with not running super meta decks because I play casually with friends, where it's more fun. I had more fun playing my gimmick Flint Lock loop deck than I do True Dracos loaded up with super expensive hand traps. As appealing as meeting the crowd at a YCS sounds, or a Regionals for that matter, why would I break myself and play expensive decks I don't really like just to win when there's no real incentive for me to play competitively?

💯 agreed. Synchros made since as another form of pretty much Polymerizarion but in Monster form (just add the stars). Xyz made more since (add monsters of same level, overlay them), Pendulum made since as the grand sweep of special summoning monsters all at once, but once they brought Link monsters....so what? You want us to Pendulum summon all those monsters to now consider Link Monsters? No way.

Don’t believe you should play yugioh for money = ycs deck is about $600. Cash prize is a bonus, not an incentive. I love playing yugioh but I don’t think I will ever travel across to a different state and dump a bunch of money into traveling for a chance at a $30 play mat and bragging rights.

Right now I'd disagree, With Magic the Gathering literally dying because of what WotC is doing... and seeing that we've had more players at huge tournaments than they have in a long, long time. I think we're in a good place. BUT, there ARE things that Konami are doing wrong, ie the split between EURO/US TCG and OCG... honestly we have a world tournament, because of this, everyone should be on the same page, frankly. I think that's the biggest issue they have.

ULGROTHA people "freaking out" because card reprints are making cards cheaper, because WOTC is selling boxes to reprint cards that needed them. The only real problem has been cardstock quality, but they seem to have somewhat fixed it. Beyond that it's abunch of injected political hoohaa like "they changed a three word speech (he or she) into a one word speech (they) and its just sjw lingo ruining the game, and not because it saves money on ink."
@monkeybench
@monkeybench 6 лет назад
ULGROTHA card quality is constantly dropping (foils cards already curved out of packs), movement to online (arena and mtgo), reduction of PTQs at a regional level, the monopoly CFB has on GP events, the number of standard bans in one year showing testing is a secondary concern. There's a long list of stuff that doesn't involve neckbeards.

The biggest issue there is with the dub of the anime is it airs at 4pm eastern/3pm central on Nicktoons on Fridays and Saturdays, and then on Sunday evenings, Fridays kids are often in school at the time, Saturday afternoons are a dead time for cartoons, and Sunday evenings most kids are doing homework. Nicktoons is a U.S. channel that Viacom and Nickelodeon use for cartoons they generally expect to fail. Additionally it's a channel on cable that's fairly expensive to get. The same has happened for the Pokémon anime, it's on Disney XD as of the end of XY&Z. One of the biggest issues is the *accessibility* of the anime. Paul, when guys like you and I (I'm 24 btw) were kids, the anime was on The WB, Saturday mornings. You'd wake up, get some cereal, and you'd watch Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh, if you got up early enough maybe even the Animaniacs. If the anime was more accessible to kids (look at Vanguard, sure we don't get it on t.v. here in the U.S. but they have their own channel where you can watch most of the anime, short of the first season) Yu-Gi-Oh? Yeah you can watch jack squat in the U.S. on the official RU-vid channel. So not only are kids probably not able to watch the anime anymore when it does air, but Konami is restricted as hell on the channel in the U.S., how are we supposed to get new fans for the game we love when next none of them are even able to view it unless they're on break if they even know it's airing?
@risebellthesummoner
@risebellthesummoner 6 лет назад
Man, i think the biggest problem is the way that Konami is handling the implementation of MR4. When Synchros came out, they could just release a few Synchro monsters at a time and nothing would really change, other than that some decks now use Synchro monsters. But, when they implement a format like Master Rule 4, which changes the entirety of the way we play the game, they can't just release a few Link monsters here and there, because a ton of decks were slaughtered because of it. The OCG's Link VRAINS pack contained a huge amount of Link monsters that would support a wide variety of archetypes, so that other archetypes didn't just die out immediately. We, however, just got a small portion of those. Now every deck just feels like Firewall or Skull Dread turbo.
@NTG360
@NTG360 6 лет назад
Paul is saying straight facts. Yugioh vrains dubbed version isn’t even out yet and the show doesn’t seem to be aired on tv as much in the past so newer players won’t be interested in buying cards. In the past when Yugioh and Gx was being aired on tv they released structure decks within that month or so based on iconic characters and kids would buy them.I do agree Konami needs to make some changes. I see they are trying to put in some legacy support to keep the older players active but they need something more.Konami should take a look at this video and take notes📝

I agree with your arguments. I remember years ago when yugioh commercials promoting booster sets and structure decks were always on, now you never hear a thing about these sets on tv. I feel there is a huge disconnect with yugioh and the younger audience, there’s no way they can get into a game that isn’t advertised or has a dedicated show. Konami needs to get there shit in gear if they want a future for this game!

+Dragon Storm 101 Get used to it. Konami will never offer greater prizes or even want to waste time talking to you people because they really don't give a shit about you or the community, only your money. Look how Konami shit on Kojima and their gaming division. All they care about is shitting gambling machines and that's where they focus is now. If people do leave the game, Konami would just cancel the card game and move on with their lives. That’s the competetive community though. Obviously there will be more people at tournaments, but Konami does not profit on these kind of players as much as they do from the casual ones. Once the casual market dies, so does the game even if they have a loyal competetive playerbase

A criticism I have for konami is how they handled changing to link format. Cardfight Vanguard is changing the format of how their game works too, but they've handled it much better. Konami just released a starter deck and left the players scrambling to find good strategies to incorporate link monsters into their decks. Vanguard is setting their tournaments up to have 3 formats: G format, premium format and standard format. Standard format is for people to use the new format only, so people can learn how to play it properly. Premium format allows the players to mix old and new cards into their decks, so it's for more advanced players. G format is where the players don't have to change their decks at all, and only old cards can be used. This means people don't have to use the new cards if they don't want to, and it's giving the players a chance to learn the new format. Konami didn't do anything nearly as good as them for their players.

As someone who is 23 and plays a ton a goat format, I can’t even understand how a child could get into yugioh these days. Since like 2013, the cards have been absurd in effects and how much happens as well as the chains and so on, how could any child ever play this? I think goat is great because it’s simple enough for anyone to play but so complex that the better player will win almost every time. Anyone can play and I yearn for that time again. If that could be the legacy format, that would engage a massive amount of older players.

Sei D.Destiny there hasn’t been a proper game since like 2011? And now the only online game is duel links which doesn’t mirror current yugioh very well at all. It's hard to start out playing the full game but it's a challenge and I love it and I feel like it's the simplicity of duel links that deterred me and the complexity of the actual game that made me stay and keep playing

There are many problems with getting into Yugioh Competitively. The first problem is that because of power creep, you are forced to keep buying the latest cards to keep up. It is like, "Here is this level 4 monster with 1900 ATK with no effect," and then they release a new card, "Here is a level 4 monster with 2000 Atk with no effect." Okay, I know that isn't a big deal in this format, but you get the point. Over time, the older cards struggle in the newer format. It is a poor investment to buy cards, because they will become obsolete. The second problem is that because of the Banlist, you could invest money into a card, only for it to get Banned. The risk and reward for cards is just too great for some people. Why spend $80 dollars on a card, when it could get banned at anytime? The third problem is that Konami likes to keep adding things, without fixing the problems with the old things they introduced. It is like, "Get ready for Ultimate Summons! It is going to be great!." *3 months later "Ultimate Summons are totally last season. The new in-thing is Mega Turbo Summons! That's all the rage now!" The fourth problem, as alluded to earlier, is the cost. Yugioh can get fairly expensive to get into. If you are a casual player where you don't have to buy the lastest cards to keep up, then it isn't too bad. However, the cost can get pretty high. I think that the top tier decks can cost upwards of $300 dollars+. $300 might not seem like a lot of money for some people, but for others, it is enough for them to not get into it. However, the fifth problem is what makes the other problems worse, and its the lack of decent prizes. You have to invest money buying the cards, the play mat, the card sleeves, your time, and the travel expense to get to these tournaments in the first place. Take a look at Pokemon. I'm an American citizen, but they helded the tournament in Canada, so I will likely have to drive up to Canada or I have to fly there. And that doesn't even get into buying for an hotel just to have some place to stay as the big ones will last more than a day. Hotel+Deck+Travel= $1000+ dollars at the end of the day. And that's just getting to the Final Tournament, and not all you have to do to qualify for it. Qualifying for these types of tournaments usually requires you to go to a local card shop to play, and not all are going to be close by. You are going to be paying for the gas to fill up your car or pay for public transportation. And after all that money and time invested into the game, and when you reach the top, you get barely anything for it. And you better get into the top 2, because if you don't, then you usually get nothing. Personally, if you make it into the top 8, you should get some kind of reward. First place should get $3000 and second place should get $1500. Getting the top two places will at least allow you to walk away with some money, and the ability to come back next year, because you made a net positive. 3rd: $750. 4th: $375. 5th: $200. 6th: $100. 7th: $50. 8th: $25. With this prize structure, they only give out $6,000 worth of cash prize each year. It isn't very expansive, so I think they could be able to afford it. Finally, I think that these tournaments need to hire more judges and be more constant on the rulings. Personally, I would like a ruling done within 5 to 10 minutes of someone calling a judge. And, like I said, the rulings between judges need to be constant. It makes the game less fun, because it makes you feel like you are not playing the same game. It is honestly why I mostly play Yugioh Video Games than the TCG, because there are less issues.

WE as the people who are buying and utilizing these products that Konami makes are the ones who are in charge here. Don't forget that. Business' by default are beholden to their customers (i.e. us the people) and will bend over backwards to protect their profit margins at all cost. We SHOULD be leveraging MORE against Konami to make their products better and work better for their clients. Don't concede that we can get cash prizes, don't concede that we can get more support, don't concede that this game is REALLY for adults; WE are the people making Komani's payroll, and therefore it's our responsibility to pressure Komani to make their products and services adhere to how we want to play the game. That's just basic business practice at the end of the day, whether it's a company like Konami, or any other
@romkin1197
@romkin1197 6 лет назад
1 or 2 problems with that. If everyone "votes with their wallets" Konami will see it as Yu-Gi-Oh! is no longer profitable. If so, they'll cancel the game. 2nd problem is, not enough people will stop purchasing products. And it isn't even the players. Stores themselves buy the products to sell them.

Spot on with the banlist dates ! You see. As a returning casual competitive player i really dont know what to buy to have at least a shot at a cempetitive deck. More so with that many unpredictable banlist. That yeah. If youre casual. You shouldn't mind but since there are more competitive players than not so youre forced to play the banlist format. Plus its fun to have a format to stick to. But then that means that the card i bought las format will maybe drop in price or become useless and i barely got to play it once or twice. So yeah

I brought it too my locals last weekend and it didn't do very well at all (granted I'm not that good of a player). I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Rampant power creep, lack of support for a separate casual and competitive format, turn 1 FTK/OTK or bust gameplay when not turn 1 unbreakable board infinite negation/disruption, extreme disparity in card quality in every product release, terrible value (high individual card prices, difficult to obtain enough cards to make any deck type even casually viable), months behind OCG product releases and different format/list than OCG, terrible communication from Konami, refusal to listen to/support players, etc, etc, etc... Yu-Gi-Oh has been awful since its inception, and it never gets better. The few things that have improved have only made the game more awful. There are more playable deck types than ever, and they are all the worst to play with and the worst to play against. Winning/losing is irrelevant, since the act of playing has become such a painful chore due to how cards/decks have been designed over the last 5-10 years. Konami is an atrocious company and it will never change. You have better odds winning the lotto than getting Konami to do anything right.

What bugs me: you just assume a lot of things, without much knowledge. First and most important thing to know: YGO is NOT a product by Konami. They DISTRIBUTE it, but they do not OWN it. SUEISHA owns it. And with that, you already know the most important problem. That's the reason the JUMP promo can get released onto a market. Cause SUEISHA doesn't care. They only care about one thing: $.$ The second inhibitor KONAMI faces is their internal structure. Neither USA nor EU can full-on decide on a lot of things. They work on a slim budget given by JAPAN. I remember, back in 2013/14, there was the possibility of better support for judges - or get another YCS going. Europe took the additional YCS. For that, the judges needed to do some surveys. Also, as a Japanese company, they prefer "secrecy" instead of open communication you can expect from companies like WotC, Blizzard or Riot. So if you keep these things in mind, you understand, why it is so frustrating at times. Why we don't get the reasoning behind all that stuff.. Source: Been a judge for some time, head judged a little, worked at the Noble Knight Showcase

All of your points are very reasonable. I remember playing back during the GX era and there wasn't any prize support really at my local shop, maybe a booster pack but for 1st place only. Yeah man their should be reasoning on why a card either leaves the limited/forbidden list or enters it instead of how it is now. Been watching since the original DM and I honestly can't get hooked into Vrains, like it feels like a chore to sit through each episode, don't know why. Other day I looked at list of structure decks and I was surprised with how its dwindled down to like 1, when previously you'd get like 4 or 5 different decks.

🅸 🆆🅴🅽🆃 🆃🅾 🆂🅴🅰🆃🆃🅻🅴 🆁🅴🅶🅸🅾🅽🅰🅻 🆀🆄🅰🅻🅸🅵🅸🅴🆁 a couple days ago, went okay but I saw a lot of things talked about in this video. It was my first regional qualifier and I was pretty nervous so I showed up pretty early but even when it came to doors opening at 8am they were still setting up things inside the venue. I got in around 8:20-ish as there weren't many people there but more people showed up as it got closer to the time for the start @ 10am. Around 9am, the line is just wrapping around all the tables, you can see that they weren't ready to register that many people in that time frame. Registration was going until 11:30am, an hour and a half past the starting time. Finally, the head judge (actually one of the judge from the locals I usually go to) had to call a cutoff. There was about 40-60 people who were in line still that were told they couldn't play, some coming from as far as Canada, Portland, and California. It was actually gut-wrenching to see all those people getting turned away because that event could have been planned to better suit the amount of people. I would like to think of myself too as a semi-professional duelist, or at least I take it seriously so I too would like to maybe see things by Konami's TCG division such as being more interactive with their community in the sense that, like you were saying, the most they ever post about is mainly product placement or adverts. I'd also like to mention I thought it was a very neat thing of you to mention the correlation between the anime and the age-base of the players. You're right, most duelist (especially kids) only really remember the first two seasons of the show. A kid playing nowaday would've have to picked up on it from a friend, older sibling, or through general interest because there is no way that those seasons have aired on TV in at least a decade. So that means the average duelist age of Yu-Gi-Oh players is right around 18-24 years of age. 𝔹𝕌𝕋 𝕀𝔽 𝕋ℍ𝔸𝕋'𝕊 𝕋ℍ𝔼 ℂ𝔸𝕊𝔼 then 🆆🅷🆈 are we getting censored card arts, different text cards in the TCG (ygorganization.com/ocg-weekly-rulings-update-4/), and why are we being treated like children?

This is why I quit buying packs. I mean, I didn't before bbut I'm seriously thinking of full on quitting. Game just isn't the same anymore. Half the cards on the ban list is there for no reason. The meta is out of control. to the point whatver you buy now is outdated in 6-10 months. Etc.And like it was pointed out, the TCG and the anime is crappy as heck. Konami almost lost us completely last fall. They take a hit like this again and they're done. And even if they don't, the game is dying, faster and faster each year.
@ufukcangencoglu2279
@ufukcangencoglu2279 6 лет назад
LOL The meta decks(outside a couple exceptions) ALWAYS have lasted around 6 to 10 months. That is juıst something you have to get used to If you want to play Yugioh. There is no objective "crappiness" in the anime. 1 episode doesn't define the whole thing you know. The "game isn't the same anymore" argument is just a redundant nostalgia bias. And yeah that is why the game got record numbers when the game is supposedly "dying".

You are absolutely right. Konami feels that they can do the bare minimum. They treat the mobile game way better. The prizes don't even have to be cash. @cloud2537
@cloud2537 5 лет назад
Personally, I dont think Yugioh is that exspensive. Magic's main format is Standard, and that is a rotating format, which means a set becomes illegal to play after a certain amount of time, which forces you to pick up new cards from the new set to not only stay relevant but even just to play at FNM. If you want to play outside standard you have a few options like Commander, Modern, Legacy and Pauper, the former 3 being stupid exspensive at points where good decks can cost in the thousands of dollars. Where as in Yugioh, I've only seen decks reach up in the mid hundreds of dollars (I'm sure they can become more expensive) but a lot of the price gets mitigated with a plethora of reprints (which magic rarely does). Konami does have abysmal community out reach but Wizards of the Coast is only slightly better, so don't feel bad about that, not every game has Bushiroad levels of support. Additionally: While Wizards humors Commander, Modern, Legacy and Pauper, they aren't encouraged or supported with tournaments (at least not anymore, sorry modern) and are completely dependent on community support rather then corporate support.

One of the things I think that they could do would be the sponsor tournament one filled with all the yugitubers who are doulas the other filled with duelist who have earned their spots for being there tell me pays for everyone to get there and caters the food and it could even only be for a small number like say 500 people which wouldn't be that expensive and they could create the first duel disks that actually work for this format like a real Duel Disk should it allows you to be able to function play the game correctly and how is it in a city and provide technology so you know when you run into a duelist it makes him sound or duelist is near you so you're playing it out in public because what that will do is promote the game and make for a really amazing Yu-Gi-Oh content now wouldn't it. Love what you do keep it up man you rock

I only just got back into the game. Still, I play the game so I can have fun. Dragunities, ninjas and samurai, dark mAgicians, and even cyber dragons have been fun to play. I don’t really look into being competitive since it’s not nearly as fun to have a match to be decided in a turn or two. Competition can be fun, but not when everyone eventually revolves around the more powerful minority of card archetypes being used.

Im an old player getting back into it, only last played a couple years ago. In my opinion I feel like the main thing they need to fix would be some sort of incentive for playing. Like you said I feel like there should be a little bit more to show for peoples effort and time spent getting really good at this game. A lot of people have spent a lot of time and a lot of money and I feel like there should be something to brag about if you're really damn good at it even to the average person. Like even just throw the winner a booster box for crying out loud, hell they make enough money off this it wouldn't be a problem to throw the winner of a ycs like 3 booster boxes and one for everyone in the top 5 even. I honestly didn't know it was that bad, makes me sad to see how much of a mockery they're making out of competitive play.

PAUL, Konami won’t hear us but I hope you hear me! Upload more discussion videos like this. Attracting fans who think like us will help the community. I loved this video and I mostly agree. Konami feels like the underground even under the Wizards Of The Coast underground. We have been far from cross-over into pop-culture and overall recognition for awhile and I hope the possible “Death apocalypse” is circumvented. I only disagree about the anime. I think long form storytelling like the original or 5DS helps draw a line between anime fans and TCG fans and I think its stuck for awhile. I hate that they keep washing their hands of the entire last spin-off but hopefully they begin creating longer storylines over multiple animes.

I agree with everything you said in this video. I agree that Konami could be managing this game much better than they are, and should strive to do so. I'd also like to add that I personally feel Konami should put more effort into balancing this game and look for alternative methods to set rotation in order to keep the advanced tournament metagame alive. I personally devised my own method I call "deck rotation". Deck rotation involves Konami selecting, let's say 4, decks for players to choose from when entering a tournament, at the cost of an additional fee, which are then returned at the the tournament's conclusion. This seems like a perfect solution in my mind. From what I have observed from most players who attend more advanced tournaments, they don't seem to care about originality; creativity, or diversity in Decks or Deck builds, and are solely focused on winning. As a result, these players are more likely to prefer defined formats. Deck rotation would offer this in that only certain Decks will be tournament legal, but will not completely eliminate any choice of options as there won't be just one Deck in the format. Besides, Konami basically tells us what to play through their use of power creep and the ban list anyway, so why not tell players what Deck to play directly. Furthermore, this method would also be beneficial to players as well. Players won't be required to spend between hundreds and thousands of dollars on cards or decks in addition to food, hotel, travel fare, and all the time and effort put into Deck building and playtesting in order to do well at a tournament. This method could actually increase player turnout in tournaments since fewer players might be put off by how much it costs to perform well at a tournament. In addition, formats could cycle out every six months to prevent situations like Zoodiac format.

One of the biggest problems the game is suffering from is Link Monsters and the new format. It's ruined a lot of older decks that were defendant on not being limited in special summons from the extra deck. Unfortunately it is too late to undo this mistake for another type of monster. Link Monsters are tied to the anime series VRains, and each series since GX has been responsible for promoting Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, and Link. I don't see link monsters going away, but it needs to undergo an overhaul that doesn't debilitate other playstyles so that the card game as a whole continues to thrive.

None of this is a surprise if you know how their videogame division has become practically irrelevant in recent years. Loads of franchise/IPs left to rot (or used to sell "sexy" pachinko machines in Japan), star developers/producers like Kojima gone, big-hitting games like MGS no longer big news and famous series' such as Silent Hill ignored or with sequels simply canned. If yugioh goes the same way then it won't be good.

I'm fairly okay with the state of the meta right now, I agree there should be prizes but doubt it will happen. However, I also think the timed releases on cards is what kills the game the most. When you release a support card in the ocg, just drop it fucking globally ATLEAST as a legal card even if you're not going to print a translation. Do you know how much it sucks to sit here waiting for something like madolche sistart for 8 months just so your deck can be BARELY playable? It's why so many people only play online for the combined tcg/ocg format mode.

I personally think Konami needs to produce an online version of the game to compete. Magic: the Gathering is currently developing their own version of an online game in an attempt to replicate the success of Hearthstone and I can see why; live streaming online CCG's has become rather popular and benefits all parties involved. I no longer play Yu-Gi-Oh! but would honestly tune into a stream from time to time for nostalgic purposes and the entertainment factor.

Lmao I didn’t think of that but it’s so true. They releasing these new link era cards and kids are probably like who? I know younger kids that haven’t bought them because they aren’t familiar. It’s bad marketing. It’s okay for the older people that may watch the sub and the competitive players who will buy it to play.

I think that duel links is they're only way to bring the new generation up to speed with the current gen but it will take more time and evolution of the game to make it work.

I feel like we should diversify our formats through different areas so that we make our own formats, not copying the other areas.

I think you have valid points, the one that caught me was about the livestream. I think someone like Cimo or you would be great on commentary because you both have lots of knowledge about the game and show to have some personality when doing videos. Idk, that's just my opinion.

Great video! Yea Pokemon does offer cash prizes for older players, I think there is a minimum age required to win momey. If not it is given as a scholarship for school, for minors. Worlds winners also get 1 of each of the sets in standard rotation. Pokemon does try to make money off winners by reprinting their decks, but those decks are not tournament legal. Mostly to play with friends or something. I think playmats should be included in your fee to play a bigger tournament, thats what pokemon does. Everyone gets a mat at like regionals or higher up tournaments. I think if Yugioh stepped up their merchandise game, then they would be more able to give better incentives. Just hopefully Yugioh won't start cash grab products like Pokemon does with all the collector/promo boxes they make.

That's really awesome, both you and yugi NoNo made videos today about yugioh dying and not getting any new blood.
