By the way if you wanna watch a little more old-school Yu-Gi-Oh we've done some of the other early sets! Legend of Blue-Eyes Duel - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YHCtmaD0HUg.html Metal Raiders Duel - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2RpDlg0fQHA.html
this is gonna sound nerdy as hell, but it would be kinda sick to see you guys make "oc/anime style" decks , all cards are 1 ofs unless the card state's it summons a copy of itself in which case it's limited to 2, it can be an archetype no handtraps that don't serve the deck, that's it, like you can play branded but it has to be all one ofs or a stardust deck using all one ofs , the goal is to really limit use of generic or staple cards like ash blossom or appollusa, even foolish burial and trying to avoid certain classics like blue-eyes or dark magician even though you can likely use those
@@JcBravo8 Hmmm... there's a set coming in about a month or so called Retro Pack, which would be great if he wants some old-school Yu-Gi-Oh cards. As for some exciting new things, I would recommend the latest Battles of Legend set or perhaps one of the two Rarity Collection sets!
@@TeamAPS Thanks for the info! If he ever gets an interest in YGO the best I'd be able to teach would probably be GOAT, so that Retropack seems ideal. But lots of the new cards look super shiny and I think he'll like that XD XD.
Maha Vailo has always been one of my favorite cards. Because of the way equip cards stack on it. And then one day I realized how much I enjoy using a quick cards as a strategy in a deck (i only played when i was young, and casaully with friends a few years later) and i was like "damn dude, i play like joey.." lol
@@jbearclowater depends on which sets specifically. MRL to PSV was a pretty big power bump. LON to PGD was a big complexity creep. Anything against IOC is going to be a problem. Someone getting lucky on legacy of darkness could mean high rolling with an injection fairy lily or even yata locking, or fiber jar shenanigans. I think they should each get their own box of the same set to work with, but that would be twice as expensive.
Stopped playing yugioh years ago and got back into it again with the 25 anniversary release. Love the content you guys make, HIGHLY entertaining. Can’t get enough of it
I absolutely adore this type of play. You guys used cards that no one would use, summoned Ritual monsters that never once saw play, but that was what made this such a refreshing game! Now I want to buy some classic boxes to recreate this.
Instantly liked. My first ever booster pack was Magic Ruler and I remember being so hyped that I pulled a Crab Turtle because "omg it can beat Dark Magician!"
This is 10/10 quality editing and dueling. Me as a non YGO player can read along with the cards and understand everything happening. really enjoyed it. Great job guys
Maha Vailo was one of my favorite cards as a kid so I'm really happy to see it being used, such a nostalgic pull. I never got Axe of Despair as a kid but I do remember using Black Pendant and Malevolent Nuzzler with it, good times..
I got so excited for a second there with Paul getting Maha on the field beefed out with Axe and Horn! Man I loved that card, with stuff like united we stand it just becomes a beatstick god. Great duel guys!
This is the most fun duel I've seen in a while, no joke. Also my very first booster was a Magic Ruler one and I pulled a Nimble Momonga. Good memories.
That was fantastic! What an absolutely wild game, these types of videos are definitely your best. I am always a fan of challenge builds and wanted to do this myself. Maybe one day...
I hope you keep doing these! I actually pulled Snatch Steal myself out of the new boosters, looking forward to yoinking some Flambergs and Labyrinth ladies at my locals
This video really showed how great a new draft set could be - seeing the absolute jank of Spell Ruler that wouldn’t see play outside of this video. A super fun duel.
I really enjoy the work y'all do here on this channel! These videos bring back so many memories for me. I started playing when the original starter decks came out as a junior in high school and quit after Labyrinth of Nightmare (I would play in local tournaments from time to time, but haven't since 2010). I play with some newer cards occasionally, but this stuff is so nostalgic for me.
I remember before Konami/upper deck got sued by wizards of the coast and had to change all magic cards to spell cards and change magic ruler to spell ruler. It happened after pharonic guardian, after legacy of darkness, but before magician's force. It'll always be magic ruler to me.
@@TeamAPSto add to what Kenji said, you open 5-10 master packs and build a deck from those cards. If you win on the Master Duel ladder, you can open an additional pack plus any legacy packs you can get. The goal is to climb as far as you can with the absolute nonsense you are going to pull
That Maha vailo combo was my big combo back in the day before I collected exodia. This was back yard rules so I would equip em with like 7 or 8 cards and the attack got insane lol
These were really sick duels. the burn cards really made them fast paced and more intense. almost like summoning in normal ygo should have a lifepoint cost.
I do miss the joy of pulling a super rare out of a pack, nothing special about it anymore, even ultras and secrets are kinda dull. Paul got screwed on high rarity cards, 2 supers and 1 ultra vs 1 super, 2 ultras and a secret.
Around the 14 min mark right before Alec attacked for game he used chain energy twice paying 500 lp to play the second one. He could have set one face down then activated the other. Then flip the first and avoid the LP cost. Although he won the game so it didn't matter just wanted to throw that out there.
We WANT Slyfer Slackers back. We miss the deck upgrading and seeing how decks play out. Very disappointed not seeing it be continued like you said you would
Can't understand why you didn't give Alec your toon world, would be nice to see you guys using these weird archetypes, maybe you can start doing a little trade of a few Select cards you pre pick or something.
You know what would be awesome for these retro games? Both of you open all your packs and get 5-10 cards that you are willing to trade to try and improve your deck.
