i think you could solve the salamangreat extra deck slots problem a different way - make a salad link that 1) copies whatever salad link you played to summon it & 2) is able to recycle links back into the extra deck. or print some other combo enablers that give the salamangreat links their trigger effects - like as an example summon a token that's a copy of the monster and gives it its full effect.

You could have a deck with: 3 tallents, 3 thrust, 3 veiler, 3 droll, 3 Maxx C, 2 Gamma (and driver), 3 Ash, 3 Imperm, Crossout, 2 Called By, 3 Nibiru, 3 Evenly, 2 Raigeki, Duster, Judgement, and the pot cards. Which is indeed 40 cards. However, you will have a hard time actually winning games with such a deck. Sure you can annoy your opponent but you have a finite number of cards and this deck has no tutors, so you are relying soely on your hand to beat your opponent you have no starter unless you count Thrust. (I know because I played this deck a few times :3. It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be, as most of the time only 1 hand trap was relevant at any given game state. If you're brand new, I think more worthwhile crafts are cards essential to your strategy, removal spells, and Kaijus. (But the SR hand traps are also a good idea, D.D. Crow and Droll)

Regarding deck space, the only thing were i would be okay with a change would be side deck from 15-20. With salad discussion i much rather have them cycle extra deck cards back in there instead of increasing the amount of cards.

I played Runick Sprights for this event, Nibiru is just a discard for Hugin and you can't get nibbed if you resolve gigantic, got a really good replay against labrynth uploaded.

The fact that Branded is hit to such a point only in formats where maxx C is unlimited means they purposely hit decks that play too good under it and can generate so much gas out of nothing. But that theory doesn't hold much weight when seen decks like lab flourish while branded is neutered in both ocg and master duel. While completely full power in TCG

Hand traps are like draw spells. There's nothing wrong with upstart goblin, but having 3 upstart, 3 into the void, 3 chicken game etc just makes degeneracy happen. Same with hand traps. If your deck only has 12 hand traps, you're probably only going to have one. Playing though one imperm isn't a big deal, just like a single upstart goblin. It's when you have to play against 4 hand traps AND snake eye ash that it gets frustrating

So with the current state and pacing of the game a lot of players would say the extra deck should increase to 20 for example. My idea I'm suggesting is one of 2 things. Idea 1: That players are granted the 20 card extra deck, but the trade off is Konami reduces the side deck size to 10. So like how we currently have 15:15 as the norm it would be 20:10 for the new norm. Idea 2: Both the side and extra deck are 15 standard, but you can trade one card vice versa up to 5 max. So where one player might need the full 20 card extra and 10 side deck maybe you only need 18 extra deck, and 12 side deck.

how about bumping up the LP to the point where it's hard to OTK after building a board. that way deck with a focus on building a board and maintaining resources while doing it will gain an advantage over a deck that dumps all of its deck in the first turn. so instead of relying on hand traps to stop your opponent from playing people can play more into board breaking

Maxx-C is out here killing the game in every way, its causing MD tournament play to be terrible half-arsed content because in every best of 3 we see a Maxx-C dropped and the match is already decided. 2 matches out of three involving a Maxx-C leaving POSSIBLY one HALF DECENT match to watch. IE Dkayed's tournaments are a great example. Josh doesnt play many decks that play into Max C so his content is always pretty good but its also limiting him in a way when he has to keep maxx-c in mind when deciding to create content with a deck, if he / others plays a maxx C bait deck its gonna be photobombed and the content gets soured...MD is extremely one dimensional atm and this years MDWC is gonna be another situation where the roach puts the clamp down and has to be a thought in EVERY players deckbuilding decision..probably gonna end some matches prematurely that wouldnt normally have ended, or would have been masterpiece battles. we need SP little night in the game, Maxx-C banned, and I'll accept a spright elf ban but ONLY if Maxx C is banned.. I don't even think they should limit or semi limit Maxx C, just ban it and let us move on to be a step closer to TCG. Yugi-Tubers would be way more successful in general if Maxx C was not in MD, because MD players are more likely to look on RU-vid for deckbuilds, especially console players, but half of the TCG Yugi-Tubers get no views is because MD players always have to play 3 Maxx-C and arguably 3 ash blossom as a start just to be relatively competitive. The people who are saying that Ash Blossom is falling out of dominance in MD are in denial. 3x Ash, 2x CBTG, and 1 Crossout designator(Optional, but optimal) and 3x Maxx C are in almost every single competitive MD deck. Ash may be falling out of dominance in stopping cards not named Maxx C, such as snake eyes, but if you don't run them or any way to stop a Max C, you watch an opponent set up a board then drop their Maxx C on you. It's causing so many players to not be able to extend out and broaden their horizons.. it's also as I said holding TCG purists back from a whole portion of the yugioh audience which are MD players/purists that MAY happen across their video, see a build that doesn't include 9 must have cards (listed above) just to utilize OR counter Maxx-C and automatically chalk the TCG deck off.. The day Konami bans Maxx-C on MD will be the day you see the yugioh community start to really rise up, right now we are all fragmented.. Also MD purists tend to be slighted by the TCG community because everyone just knows that TCG is like the "Master race" right now, but it doesn't have to be that way. MD is a goldmine for years to come, they just need to balance the game..

Honestly the event was fun, the crazy thing is, with the state of modern yugioh i still played a combo deck (a kinda flexible one and definitely not a meta one......not even close) by cutting some of the pieces that were only relevant for long combos, i could still put up one omni or 2 monster negates or one negate plus some annoying effect or a beater most turns...which was enought to get 3 wins in a row, but yeah, i wish the game was, maybe not as slow as this, but much closer to this tempo so we can have some back and forth, than the infinite combos we got used to.

I would be cool to have another "extra deck" for handtraps and the player going first starts with 1 in hand and the second player starts with 2

1st game I play Lab and beat a Sky Striker player attempting to go 1st 2nd game I play Sky Striker and beat a Zoodiac player relying on Macro Cosmos to keep my Spells out of GY and remind them how terrible Zoos are against set backrow 3rd game I play Rescue-ACE and my opponent can't do anything against Turbulence Set 4, even though they were on Unchained Lab.

I loved the first match! It was literally the perfect example of the highly interactive floodgate vs floodgate: neither player could do anything at all, because they both waited to negate their opponent and the one who surrenders last or times out last wins lol

This should just be added to standered yugioh. I hate combo decks and they don't deserve to play yugioh anymore.

How about a rule where you can only negate one card effect per turn? Just like everyone is only allowed one normal summon and one normal draw during draw phase, you can only negate one card effect per turn. That way end boards get more creative rather than having a 5 omni negate board with generic boss monsters. I think this way people would play less hand traps because you don't want to have too many negates in your hand, and other boss monsters with protection would be more prevalent. This would also make you think harder about what to negate on a turn. Do you want to negate the opponents starter monster, or do you want to negate their removal? It would also make it so that only one of your cards gets negated which I think is the main issue with turn one going overboard. If you only have 6 cards to make a play but opponent's deck can easily make an end board with 6 negations, than that is just gg by default which is no fun.
