After nearly 20 years of owning this game, I’ve finally completed it today. I was always under the impression that the final bosses were unbeatable and beating it was a lost cause. But I learned that to beat this game, you need to play a *lot* of Free Duels to assemble the best cards, both quickly and efficiently and slow and stalling. When I reached the last bosses, I was rocking Meteor B Dragon, Dark Magician, Skull Knight, Red Eyes Black Dragon and of course, Megamorph. The duels were still tough and cheating, especially Seto and his Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, but I was able to beat him and the last two. I feel like I’ve achieved a lifelong ambition and it feels like a weight’s been lifted from my shoulders.

it took me 4 years to beat this game on an legit run, why you ask? it was on PS1 and I had no access to internet, that was 12 years ago, adding to that too I had zero knowledge in english. but hey, it was worth.

"Beat me, and I'll go home... quietly." Throws a hissy fit after getting beat the first time and leaves with with a "NOOO" Vader would be jealous of the second time. Turned out Nightmare was just some random gambling addict in the end.

I was cheering for you when you went for the 'refuse' option only to be disappointed the game forced you to pick the 'hand over the millennium items' option. I really wanted to see Seto boy get killed.

I love how for a while, this guy kept showing up in the games so much that I was expecting him to appear in the actual series at one point.

i remember playing this game AFTER getting my first structure deck(Yugi) and reading the rule book as a kid. i first response was wtf is this mess. Then i tool the video gamey approach, farmed the first duel against that OP guy in the intro until i won once and got meteor black dragon card. loved the game from that point forward lol

Good god, this game expects you to win 7 games in a row to finish it. The Labyrinth Mage, the twin duelists, Heishin, Seto, Darknite, AND Nitemare all back to back. Lose a single one of those duels? Don't care, start from the beginning. Now I can understand MAYBE 3 duels back to back for the finale. But my god man! 7? Really??

you should just keep the mars instead of sun when meteor b.dragon vs moth, it will increase the attack since the moth are mercury. But its still nice tho

Its not cheating. Its frame exploiting. The CPU behavior depends on the frame which you enter the battle.

It took me forever to beat this game considering that you to battle 6 or 7 opponents before you can win and you can't even save in between.

Best Yu-Gi-Oh videogame I've ever played, actually I've played just 3 but seen many gameplays of various titles. Maybe just because nostalgia but I still love this game over all.

Hmm that was interesting I could never beat the game it was hard specially since I only could win bad cards, it was fun but it doesnt have anything to do with yugioh which sadly also happends in yugioh such as when then can do out of nowhere things such as the magical fusion of zombie moth with blue eyes ultimate dragons I enjoy Yugioh anime but it makes weird mistakes.
