I know the meme of not reading in yugioh but it makes you realize how crazy our memory is for a game that we memorize so many cards to the point of not having to read them.

For pure trolling, show them the Mirrodin block artifact lands. Without contaxt, they're functionally just like the basic lands that happen to also be artifacts and lose the ability to interact with things that specify basic lands... no other abilities, still obey normal play rules for lands, they're just artifacts instead of being Basic... just... artifacts... what's the worst that could happen?

It implies there is such a thing as a turn 4, a concept completely alien to YGO players

@@brunop.8745 As I understand it how YGO players count turns it would actually mean turn 7 (each players go is counted as a turn in YGO - if I understand correctly). Which makes "YGO games usually end on turn 3" even more insane to me.

@@JinFreeks ye ye, it's usually I play You play and try to push for game playing through my board If I'm still alive hopefully I get you on the crackback (Tho every once in a while is more like: I/we play We play, I try to stop you in real time you try to push for game And then the same turn but switched around) Although I was saying it bc paying in Yugioh usually means paying with cards and not every card gets you something for being in the grave, so going -3 to accomplish nothing that's game defining happens in Yugioh quite a bit (usually it's your opponent having some interactionwith your board) and it usually means that you lost, either right now or that turn 3 is going to be a tossup on you being able to push for game and on turn 4 you're done most likely done and going -4 is so bad you usually concede. While in other games paying is not that detrimental it goes in the same brain area, so a Yugioh player trying to play another game has difficulty assessing a 4+ cost card in any other game because they have a goblin inside telling them "hold on there pardner, that shit's too expensive for what it does, we're gonna lose if you put this card on your deck"

When he read the card and then started saying "So this card makes...creatures?" I was thinking "That is NOT the important part here" lol

Anyone who has played HS or Magic ever and sees "take an extra turn" - unless it takes like 10 steps that shit is gonna be broken. 7 mana (or more importantly the foretell) is hella broken simply because if you ever establish a board you just dome your opponent instantly.

@@youbluethatone1017 they probably moved the coat to another creature before they attacked with the 2/2 cloaked Obliterator (or added cloak to hand)

@@TheOneJameYT Amusingly, Cryptic Coat has no Equip ability, it can only go back to hand and then cloak a new card off the top. Or, it can be moved onto something through another card's effect, but that's unusual.

I actually run it in my standard rats deck as a way to beat red/green decks. No brotherhood's end board wipes from them without repercussions!

I like playing an artifact deck, mightstone and weakstone is SUCH a blessing i HATE the obliterator since packing your deck full of removal is so boring.

This is why I'm an esper mage. I can choose to destroy a creature, bounce it, exile it or just wrath it because esper mages love to remove creatures.

Green can use a beast within type at least. But yeah its good but it was never like nearly as insane as it looked when it was first shown in new phyrexia.

Yeah outside of the combo it's a good card, but it only really works if you already have a boardstate. Otherwise you're basically just paying 7 mana for two birds and a draw.

​@@lucidiouslyYou're sort of paying nothing for two birds in a draw because all your mana is untapped for your extra turn. But it happens in such a late stage in the game that it doesn't actually do much unless you have a developed ward or your desperate for some sort of perfect card.

in my opinion it shouldnt have been banned. it was banned because wotc hjas decided they ahve to make changes to standard every so often separate from new releases whether the format is healthy or not . that goes for fable of kiki jiki even more so . they even said for fable they were only banning ig to shake up hte meta due to them extending rotation

@@sethstephens4777 This is not true at all. They banned Fable because it generated so much value out of a difficult to deal with permanent type. It made two threats, generated mana, and even helped you filter cards. It could win games just on it's own if left unchecked and continues to do so in older formats. It was way way too powerful for standard.

​@@tonysmith9905 Fable was not played significantly in Standard until Sheoldred the Apocalypse came out nearly a year later, and without that card it would be fine in the format to this day. Everyone knew how powerful it was from day one but there was no deck that could really use it effectively, Sheoldred was the only reason it saw significant play. THAT is the card that needed to be banned, and everyone knew it. This ban was framed as a hit to slow down Sheoldred, it failed miserably and everyone but WOtC realized it would immediately upon the ban announcement. The format is suffering from this mistake to this day.

Nah, WotC hates blocking. And we've already gotten attack from hand twice now (dash and blitz).

@@artemiskearney8019 I was just thinking about an ability where once you've blocked you can pay this ability's cost to put a creature into play blocking that creature as well and the original creature gains a 'prevent all damage this creature would do and return this card to hand at the end of combat' type deal. I really like the idea of using a beefy creature in hand to absorb combat damage (since you get to assign damage distribution) while blocking. I know control probably doesn't need any help but I feel like aggro could use some cooling too.

Blocking ninjitsu would be pretty cool.

Flash creatures can already be used as instant speed blockers. It's just usually good Flash Creatures are utility based or very frail.

PSCT is just the programming language of YGO. Just look for key punctuation, sequential and other phrases such as "do x and if you do, perform Y" and have decent reading comprehension and you are good to go. ​@@kateslate3228

I started laughing when he said you wouldn't drop Questing Beast on turn 1 like that is an option 99% of the time. As someone that plays both games it always messes with me how difficult the switch between them is for someone who only plays one.

its one of those cards where if you can play it without worrying about the cost its pretty good some decks just cant deal with it easily.

Obliterator has been power crept pretty bad with Sheoldred. It was already an upgrade from Phyrexian Negator, which was a bonkers card in its time. If Obliterator existed during Black Summer '96, there's a very real chance it would have been banned lol.
