I thought I would not try this recipe because it didn’t look that good to me ,but now that you said to add cornstarch im liking it 😃I’m gonna try it! Thanks for the tip! 👌🏻
I don't think that's enough to save this. Everything is extremely watered down. It's just sugar water soup and chicken. Trying to help it might just make things worse lol
Dust the raw chunks with cornstarch and brown it until golden. Just use enough oil to barely coat the bottom of your skillet.Drain on paper towels. Use the same pan and Sauté your peppers and onions lightly .Toss chicken and veggies into the crockpot. Mix your sauce in a bowl and then pour over your chicken with the peppers and onions. Cook until chicken has fully cooked and is not pink inside (times and temperature varies by your needs.) it should not be soupy. I personally would cut back on that bbq sauce by about half. Or maybe use an Asian sauce like plum sauce or sweet &sour.❤
I feel you on this… but I think the intent here is to not use other pans and stuff … but I was def taken a back at all the liquid and stuff . Yours sounds yummy
@@bonnieclaycritchfield9309 it's not sesame sauce. It's sesame oil, as a suggestion just gradually add little by little until you like the taste. Also do not use that oil by itself for cooking its a flavor enhancer for example you don't cook with truffle oil you use it to enhance the flavor. Its amazing I use that oil for everything, it just adds this amazing taste. Especially if you like sushi just mix a little bit of that oil with the soy sauce and it just brings out the flavor in your sushi.
I've watched this several times in disbelief. You know that iconic deep thinking look?...yeah like that. Uncle Roger and Gordon Ramsey needs to see this asap.
You had me at chicken, then you lost me when you dumped about 2000 calories of sugar on it. Also I'm not sure what types of cups you use but a standard SBR's BBQ sauce bottle is 18 oz. so 2 cups would basically be the entire bottle...
That’s why it looks like soup! The liquid from the bbq sauce mixed with the natural sweating of the onions, then the marmalade as it liquifies…not to exclude the soy sauce…waaay too much liquid! The flavor of the chicken and bell pepper is totally lost! Nothing clings to the chicken - the only flavor is the “soup!”😵💫
@@Thaustralia seasoning: something you use in small quantities to make food taste good. Spices, herbs, spice mixtures, salt, and pepper all fall under the category of seasonings. condiment: a liquid or sauce used to add taste to food. Examples: ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce.
I've used this same sauce recipe with meatballs, lil smokies & pineapple chunks all in the crock pot at once. It's a great party snack! Use the whole jar of marmalade tho. For orange chicken dust the chicken with some cornstarch first & fry it in oil (orange chicken has a light breading on it that grabs that marmalade 😋) then at the end thicken that sauce with a cornstarch slurry (cornstarch & cold water) looks yummy toots!
Thanks for your advice! Those little tweeks sound like a nice improvement. Most are just attacking/criticizing and their "advice" is basically a different recipe, without the dump-and-go crockpot convenience. Also, all the sugar complaints- there is low sugar/no sugar marmalade and bbq. Also, we're not going to be drinking the sauce lol +Thanks for the party food idea, definitely trying that too!
@@kristireynolds5234 yea we ain't drinking the sauce lol that made me laugh 😂 ppl don't realize they have endless options including being negative Nancy's 🥴
@@agirlnamedtomm940 bread crumbs should work fine but I would try to get them as finely crushed as u can (put in a bag & use a rolling pin) bc bigger crumbs tend to fall off in the process but I still think it will be delicious 🤤
@@8WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot8 I'll let you know, I'm making it right now for dinner tonight! I'm gonna do egg, flourv then breadcrumbs (with cornstarch on the grocery list). I also got some sesame seeds. Did you eat your chicken over rice? 💚👽🎀
Nope. All that flavor not sticking. Cook the chicken on stove top and then toss in the mixture and put in the oven for a bit. Add some hot sauce or peppers for sweet and spicy.
Hey I could point out all kinds of technical and scientific problems with this preparation, but hey if she likes it have at it. Though I will say, I would have done everything differently
I'm one of the one out of three people that can't eat bell pepper. I can't even touch it. So, I'd replace the bell pepper with celery chunks. I also recommend a little corn starch thickening and serve over rice. YUM!
A slurry might not work unless the liquid is boiling Also don't make this it's poison - it's not orange chicken it's more like slow cooked diarrhea with vomit sauce. Lol But really, real orange chicken is not hard many good recipes none of them call for jelly & bbq sauce 😢 U can do it I believe in u
@ccsmith2773 I just don't like using my Epi Pen, it hurts. I also don't like spending a day or two in the ER. I wouldn't use the orange marmalade, either. I like Chinese orange chicken so I'd make the dish that way!😃
Is your last will and Testament in order? If u live after eating that slow cooked food born illness ur going to need a old priest & a young priest to accompany u to the bathroom 😮😅 lol
