He has stated to have heavy Oasis influence and I suspect The Beatles as well. His songs sound like many of theirs but I hear Happiness is a Warm Gun the most.
Yk alot of british ppl fake accents,in singing if they dont have an accent that proves they dont actually have a accent but yungblud still has his so he actually has one
@@kodieking1979 that's not true lmao. if people's music idols growing up were american for example they're likely to naturally sing with an americanised accent. do you seriously think there are people in the uk faking british accents? like what? what other accent would they talk in and why would they fake it? haha
@@bizarreisthenewblack Right...I'm American and have noticed most British singers don't have a perceptible British accent when they sing (with some exceptions like Lily Allen). It makes sense if you grow up listening to American music that you might adopt American English mannerisms in your singing. I have seen cases where American teenagers would form a little punk bad and would unconsciously emulate British punk vocals. Lol
This video is so damn '90s British, I feel some Oasis vibes but not only. Love you and your music Dom, you're doing great in music industry for our generation of weird loners.
My mind jumped to Oasis within 10 seconds - ngl i saw yungblud at reading having never seen or listened to them before and it all sounds decent but the songs ive listened to since all seem to be in the style of another band wether it be nirvana or oasis or another
@@elliscox2179 right ? I've heard Oasis, Nirvana, David Bowie, Ultravox, the Cramberries, etc... if he isn't inspired by them then I have to assume he is channeling them through some dark ritual magic.
The grunge, “rebellious against society norms” , I dont blend in and i love it attitude really takes me back to my teens when I started to become who i am. I cant get enough of him. 💞
Well.. if you just discovered him I advise you to listen to Medicine and Anarchist❤️❤️ I think they are the most beautiful of his whole music with loner❤️
Even better, he keeps the Yorkshire accent. I love it when people keep the regional accents. As a Brit, it makes that song a tad bit more interesting when people keep their accents in
I like that Dom is comfortable enough with himself that he can dress however he wants. He just stopped caring. That's one of the reasons he's one of if not my favorite artist at the momemt
Susan Ross Exactly... If you see Dom’s fb page he’s so happy he found it crazy that so many people came to see them at Rock Werchter. “I just wish he stayed our little secret” yeah smaller shows are more fun but they deserve the fame so much. I’d hate for anyone to not feel welcome because we (the fanbase) tell them that they have only discovered him now and blah blah. :( This happens to so many artists
I just found him, but then I started looking up all of his old stuff! I am addicted- new fan listens to all Yungblud from the sheepy ' Original Me ' YES!
The day this video was released was the day my daughter was born. I’ll never forget it. Now we sing to it! This song and “Clover Cage - Frozen In Time” are the two songs keeping me sane through these tough times. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you ❤️ 🎉
Also I love how everyone’s bashing how British this is but I’ve always wondered why British artists sing in an American accent and I’m in love with the British shining through in this song 😍😍
i’m british, and i bloody love this. Most artists make these videos in places like florida, and it’s good but this is nicer for me at least as a brit. Because it’s recognisable. It shows that life isn’t perfect, it’s cold here. It shows that places can be gritty and cold here. But we love it
@@smlalexis2828 Lots of cold, overcast, grey, "gritty" places in America too I assure you. There are many different climates in the US...it's a huge country. I like seeing the British houses in the background too though, I don't see that as much.
I’m proud of you for waking up. I’m proud of you for brushing your hair. I’m proud of you for blinking. I’m proud of you for breathing. I’m proud of you for making your bed. I’m proud of you for eating. I’m proud of you for TRYING to eat. I’m proud of you for drinking water. I’m proud of you for being here. I’m proud of you for being you. I’m proud of you for smiling. I’m proud of you for continuing on even when things are difficult for you. I’m proud of you for standing up. I’m proud of you for blinking. I’m proud of you for getting out of bed after spending the whole day in bed. I’m proud of you for brushing your teeth. I’m proud of you for standing up. I’m proud of you for sitting down. I’m proud of you for defending yourself. I’m proud of you for believing in yourself. I’m proud of you for simply trying. I’m proud of you for being alive. IM PROUD OF YOU. ♥️
I think Dom is actually trying to kill me with all this build up Edit: BUILD UP IS OVER, WE CAN ENJOY AND BOUNCE TO THIS BOP AS MUCH AS WE WANT! THANK YOU DOM 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Wether I listen to his music as much, or as much as I once used to.. I do miss the style of his older ones, but he's evolved since and I'll forever love him for who he is. Dom got me through some tough times, did inspire me to do things I wouldn't have been comfortable with without knowing him. He'll always have a place in my 🖤
@@nixisurdad LMAOOO nop, the definition is like “Person who undergoes, through resignation or excessive, inexplicable submissiveness, a painful situation.” surely not gangster lol
This dude ran away from home at 15 and made his own damn way through life and I can't even calm my anxiety enough to come out. God I want to be as bold as he is.
I was thinking more along the lines of School of Fish, Jesus Jones, Neds Atomic Dustbin, and some of the other British non-grunge pop-rock bands from the early 90’s. I’m not saying this sounds exactly like it but it would have fit in with that era.
I've never heard of him but I saw on Instagram that he's doing a song with Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker so that's a whole new crowd being introduced to him
He did explode actually with 11 minutes, and that was about two months ago. He did that with Travis Barker and Halsey. Haven’t heard about any song with MGK tho?
ME TOO I JUST STARTED LOVING HIM AFTER I SOMEHOW FOUND OUT HIM AND HALSEY ARE TOGETHER. LIKE HONESTLY IT WAS IN MY RECOMMENDED AFTER WATCHING NIGHTMARE IN THE LIVE LOUNGE ON REPEAT AND THEN IVE BEEN OBSESSING OVER HIM
Anyone else amazed by how many artists come from Britain/ the UK. I'm now proud of the musical aspect of my country and origin. *FYI: I was born in Doncaster, moved to Birmingham when I was 2 or 3*
The whole idea of waiting, chating, bringing us together, links he posts on his insta story... The website, that personality test he created... He is such an inspiration... Thank you for sharing your art with us. ❤️🙏
I was definitely getting britpop vibes from the video style and some of the melodies, the guitars are a bit more modern but I definitely see the influences and I love it
The unique vibe. No matter how far away you are from these guys, you feel their life, their mood. I feel like Im literally on these streets but ive never been there.
🖤🖤 LYRICS 🖤🖤 All my friends will desert again And I don’t want to be a loner In my head I can sleep when I’m dead Baby don’t let the hype delude ya [Verse 1] I got no one from the quiet life No forced up smiles over tired eyes Give me a taste of the riot life Cause I’d rather be a martyr then grow tomatoes Keep the young between your teeth You take the love Take the goods Take the self belief You make your shoes look squeaky clean But if you want to be a leader stop being a cheater [Pre-Chorus] So bounce if you've had enough Of the people you know So bounce if you’ve had enough And just let go [Chorus] All my friends will desert again And I don’t want to be a loner In my head I can sleep when I’m dead Baby don’t let the hype delude ya [Verse 2] Now lock me up in a riot van As a hold up my finger to this old man ‘Cause he makes sure my future plans Became a time bomb, Sleep with the lights on Treating the planet Like a playground Sugar Coat Distractions to cover up their shade now Hey now You better not let me out [Chorus] All my friends will desert again And I don’t want to be a loner In my head I can sleep when I’m dead Baby don’t let the hype delude ya [Bridge] You know what I mean yeah You know what I mean yeah You know what I mean yeah Do you know what I mean yeah? You know what I mean yeah You know what I mean yeah You know what I mean yeah Do you know what I mean yeah? [Pre-Chorus] So bounce if you've had enough Of the people you know So bounce if you’ve had enough Of the alter-ego So bounce if you’ve had enough Of the people you know So bounce if you’ve had enough And just let go [Chorus] All my friends will desert again And I don’t want to be a loner In my head I can’t sleep when I’m dead Baby don’t let the heart delude ya All my friends will desert again And I don’t want to be a loner In my head I can’t sleep when I’m dead Baby don’t let the heart delude ya Oh woah oh woah oh oh oh Oh woah oh woah oh oh oh Oh woah oh woah oh oh oh ___ Thank you, Dom for another banger! An awesome song to bop to! Love you so fookin much 💗 Black Hearts Club, baby ! 🖤🖤🖤
I think ive figured out why i love yungblood... Other than him just being a straight up slice of british life. He is the perfect mix of late 90s britpop and naughties emo rock. Lyrical wisdom. What an artist!!
this was very british and very punk. im living for it edit: ALTERNATIVE was the word i should’ve used instead of punk lmaooo. but yeah it’s real good anyways lolll
Cece Rose he’s from Doncaster in the uk (he says Manchester to Americans otherwise they’re confused where it is) but yeah he’s British so that’s probably why 😅
